Dog the Racist Bounty Hunter is trying to rehabilitate his image.

On Saturday, he appeared at a holiday toy giveaway sponsored by Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, a black advocacy group.

“We don’t condone racial slurs, but upon hearing Dog’s apology and after meeting with him and his family, we don’t believe he’s a racist. We also believe that Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman sincerely wants to make amends to the black community, and deserves a second chance,” BOND founder the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson said in a statement.

WHATEVER!

I mean, I’m glad he’s trying to help out and all, instead of being like, “Okay, guys, you got me,” and then showing up at a KKK holiday toy drive, but still.

I’m not sure what to make of this.

Jessica Simpson’s new movie, Blonde Ambition, was determined to be not good enough to show in theaters, so it’s going straight to DVD.

However, they are giving it a limited theatrical release in Texas.

I guess it’s because Jessica and Luke Wilson are both from Texas, but if I were a Texan, I’d be a little offended by this. Like, the rest of the country is too sophisticated for this film, but Texas? They’ll dig it.

Says a spokeswoman for the production company: “It is a very cute film that Jessica fans will love and be thrilled with. We’ve done a second film with Jessica, Major Movie Star [slated for 2008 release], and we have all the confidence in her.”
