The AIDS Foundation 16th Annual Dream Halloween party went down this weekend, and like most Halloween parties, it was mostly kids with one very awkward and over-dressed adult that seems out of place. At this party, the adult was Jamie Lee Curtis, Activia yogurt spokesperson and famous hermaphrodite, and boy did she look crazy. The rest of the red carpet was made of who I assume are Disney and Nickelodeon show castmembers, but definitely no Selena Gomez or Miley Cyrus. More like those Sprouse brothers and Miley’s little sister, who we’ve already decided was dressed like a ho. Oh, and Doris Roberts was there?

The movie studio has released another New Moon clip in anticipation of its November 20th premiere.  By now you all know that I don’t do the whole vampire thing, but after a bit of tiresome fang research I’ve learned that this clip features the Volturi.  If I’ve understood correctly, a “volturi” is a coven of vampires.  See the things I do for you?

The Veronicas have released a video for their new song, “This Love”.  I’m hanging around listening to it with my daughter who is known on my blog as Veruca (for obvious reasons).  As you know, I have no ear for music.  Veruca says “It’s a beautiful song, but how is she going to give up even if she isn’t there?  That doesn’t make sense!”  So, there you have it, straight from the mouth of my babe.

Early this morning Dennis Quaid and his wife and some obnoxious friend left West Hollywood’s Phillipe restaurant and were greeted by a swarm of paparazzi at the valet station.  That’s par for the course, but what isn’t ordinary is that Quaid was stopped by a police officer after driving less than a foot.  The cop warned Quaid, who was apparently in no condition to drive, that he needed to stop his car immediately.  Dennis agreed and asked if he could go back into the restaurant — terms the officer agreed to.  Quaid, wife, and obnoxious friend filed back into Phillipe and called a cab which presumably brought them safely home.

Now, here’s the thing:  In Normal World, if you were drunk and got behind the wheel of a car with the intention of operating that vehicle, you’d be arrested.  You don’t get to negotiate a workable solution.  In Hollywood, you get a heads-up and a second chance to do the right thing.  Just. No. Consequences.
