Wynonna Judd’s response to Taylor Swift’s record-breaking win as CMA’s Artist of the Year last night.  You know, maybe Whinonna (intentional) should spend a little more time CORI checking her kids’ teachers and a little bit less time being a bitter, old, washed-up hag who has nothing better to do than rain on the victory of the new kid on the block.

My mother watched Taylor Swift on SNL this weekend. Then she called me and was like, “I watched that Taylor Swift girl on Saturday Night Live. I don’t understand what the big deal is. I wasn’t impressed.”

I am no longer on speaking terms with my mother.

Because Taylor Swift is hands-down the greatest person in the world, and I am going to adopt her as my little sister and then we are going to be best friends and do everything together and she will write songs about me titled things like “Sisterhood: A Love Story” and “My Heart Beets for You, Adoptive Sister” and I will come with her to all her awards shows. And she will dedicate awards to me, because we are best friends. Anyway. On Wednesday, Taylor became the youngest artist ever to win the coveted title of Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Awards. She also claimed awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, Music Video of the Year for her song “Love Story” and Album of the Year with “Fearless.” WOW. Rock on, Tay-Tay. You deserve it. Also: Who the fuck are the Jonas Brothers, again?

“I want to thank every single person here tonight for not running up on stage during this speech,” she said when picking up her trophy for female vocalist.

ZOMG. Love her so much. LOVE YOU, TAYLOR! Just one little criticism: You’re getting too damn thin!! Eat something, girlie!

Also there: A brunette Kellie Pickler, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Nicole Kidman, her two breasts and that guy she’s married to, and LeAnn Rimes, who looks just terrible and inexplicably managed to get mascara on her teeth, I think.

I was so confused.  I knew there was some sort of country music award ceremony this week and pictures from the 57th Annual BMI Country Awards came across the wire this morning.  Now, I wouldn’t attend an awards show that reminded me of my body mass index either, but I was surprised to see how few celebs attended.  Like, Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman and Taylor Swift were there, but not too many more notables (if you can count Chris Sligh of American Idol “fame” as a notable).

It took a little bit of research for me to learn that the awards that people actually pay attention to, the CMAs, are tonight.  Prepare for a blinding photo gallery tomorrow full of the over-whitened teeth and liberal use of sequins that I’ve come to expect from Nashville.

Taylor Swift hosted Saturday Night Live last night and opened the show by doing a little ditty about some things we were all hoping for her to comment on, namely Kanye West crashing her VMA speech, her terrible break up with Joe Jonas and her relationship with Taylor Lautner.

Taylor more or less confirmed that she’s dating Lautner, went pretty easy on Kanye and really slapped Joe Jonas across the face. Despite her obvious nerves, she got through the song and was a hit with the live audience. I’m sure her fans watching at home went crazy.

Taylor Swift got pranked at Ellen the other day and apparently she had the pants scared off her so badly that she wound up on the bathroom floor of her dressing room. Taylor was a really good sport about the prank and laughed until she and Ellen embraced, but her reaction definitely implied that she was freakin’ out there for a moment.

Taylor Swift attended Katy Perry’s crazy 25th last weekend where guests were asked to show up in all white and throughout the night had paint splashed on them by other guests. Sounds like a crazy good time, right? One of the guests got so, um… carried away with his design that he or another guest painted a swastika on his shirt. And then Taylor Swift danced by him, and even worse, took a picture with him.

Now it’s safe to assume that even though she’s underage, Taylor had a cocktail or two at the affair. While this doesn’t sound like the kinda party you need to drink away, the crowd there that night wasn’t exactly sober and Taylor’s at the age where a girl would be drinking if she were in college even though it’s not exactly legal. I would say “Look at Lindsay Lohan”, but Taylor strikes me as a pretty good girl. I also see her as a smart girl. Even if she agreed with the message that this guy was putting out there, she probably would know better than to stand with the symbol had she been aware it was there. I have the feeling that Taylor may have been seeing double from her drinks and didn’t realize what she was looking at when she agreed to pose for a shot.

Tay Squared were out and about again last night.  Now they’re shopping together?  Shopping?  They’ve advanced to that level?  I’ve been married for five years and my husband and I still aren’t ready for that level of togetherness!

There have been rumors for a few weeks, but now it seems like there may actually be some truth to those whispers.  Could Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner be dating?  They were seen together at a hockey game at the Staples Center on Sunday — way to keep it under wraps, guys.

Swift is 19 and Lautner is 17 and they’ve probably been dating for a few weeks — so a relationship that’s both young and young.  And for the record, I’m totally behind the Taylor/Taylor duo … haven’t seen anything that cute since, well, Paris & Paris.

Katy Perry hosted her 25th birthday bash at Sunset Beach last night and amongst the guests were her boyf Russell Brand, Taylor Swift and JoJo… oh, and many Oompa Loompas. Katy’s theme was a white party with Willy Wonka overtones and the guests left with their pristine frocks covered in multi-colored paint. Who knows what went on in there, but it looks fun.

Taylor Swift is set to host Saturday Night Live on November 7th and she already has some ideas for skits.  She told AP, “I’ve been thinking about skit ideas for a long time.  There are definitely some hilarious things that have happened to me over the past couple of months that I think will be pretty substantial skits.”

Obviously, she’s referring to her run in with Kanye at last month’s VMAs.  I think that the show execs believe the skits will be funny, but I wonder if it won’t just look like Taylor Swift doesn’t know how to move on.

Taylor Swift was a guest on The View today — incidentally, Kate Gosselin sucks as a guest host — and the harpies wasted no time asking her about the whole VMA debacle.  I’m so glad she got a chance to let everyone know that Kanye hasn’t even contacted her yet.

It’s kind of old news in this Autumn of Anger, but Kanye sure has a lot of time to blog apologies and talk to Leno about being a dickwad, why not call the girl, apologize and move on?  He’s more interested in restoring his public image — and it sucked to begin with — than actually connecting with someone he hurt and making it right.  I’ve said it before, I’ll say it now, and I assume I’ll be saying it again:  Fuck you, Kanye.

Ahhh, Monday-morning quarterbacking. Rumors abound on the Internet today that perhaps MTV intentionally staged the Kanye rant for the publicity. (Note: I don’t think that’s true at all. In case you didn’t hear, I think Kanye’s an obnoxious alcoholic piece of shit who needs to think good and hard before he next decides to get wasted at a live televised event.)

But then it gets even weirder. RealNetworks — the company I work for, and which handles most of the advertising on this site — has a music product called Rhapsody (which FINALLY runs on the iPhone now, woot woot!). Rhapsody had purchased ad space at the VMAs long ago, to run immediately after Taylor Swift’s performance of “You Belong to Me.” The ad has a voice-over that says “This moment belongs to Taylor Swift.” In light of the voice-over and the Kanye West incident prior, there have been rumors circulating that Rhapsody was somehow involved in MTV’s “staging” of the Kanye West rant.

Apparently news of my love for Taylor Swift is so widespread at that company that a rep for the PR and marketing team actually stopped me in the hall today to let me know that the company had NOTHING to do with any rumored “staging” of the Kanye rant. I thought that was pretty funny. They were worried I’d hear the rumors and be pissed. The company also took to the RealNetworks blog today to deny any involvement: Let’s go ahead and put this rumor to rest. IF the “Kanye Incident” is part of a larger PR stunt by our friends at MTV, it’s news to us.

And I believe them, because if RealNetworks did have anything to do with my beloved Taylor Swift’s shining moment being ruined, I’m sure my badge wouldn’t have worked this morning. There’s NO WAY they would have let me in the building knowing how pissed I would have been.
