Last week Kanye West’s new video for his song Paranoia was posted on his blog, but apparently it wasn’t quite ready for human consumption.  This probably explains why Beet and everyone else didn’t understand what the video was all about when it was originally broadcast last week.

West wrote, “It hurts me to see the old and very wrong version of the ‘Paranoid’ video get leaked all over the net while I was on an 11-hour flight and couldn’t do anything about it. It’s just frustrating when this stuff happens because I really care about the product and, since videos never get played anyway, you might as well tweak them and make them as special as possible.”  Now, I’m not sure how a video can be “leaked all over the net” when it was embedded on his own blog, and I can’t help but think that Kanye West needs an assistant to handle his website maintenance, but really I was just relieved that he temporarily STOPPED WRITING EVERYTHING IN CAPS.

Anyway, now it has been released for real.  Rihanna doesn’t sing but gets lots of camera time.

This past Wednesday, Wendie wrote about a video Chris Brown posted to Youtube in which he and Lil Bow Wow defended Brown’s reputation in a language so badly mangled that it could only be identified via its dental records as English.

Later that same day, Eve took to her twitter account and told Chris Brown exactly what she’d do to him if he came at her the way he came at Rihanna:

After Kanye told us all we should “give him a break” and Diddy invited him over to stay at one of his mansions while Brown was hiding from the paps, I’m so glad that a big hip-hop star like Eve has had the guts to speak truthfully about this ugly, disgusting incident.
Eve is fed up with the way Brown’s actions are being overlooked and accepted, writing that she’s “so sick of the media trying to sugar coat a serious issue.”

The last time I made a bet about the legal fate of Chris Brown, it didn’t go well.  I ended up having to write two hundred kind words about Mischa Barton and how she positively affects my life.  I’m still having nightmares and the occasional facial tic over it.

While I’m recovering from the fact that Brown’s assault case wasn’t dismissed or pled out, I am happy to report that Rihanna’s attorney Donald Etra confirms that the singer will be in court at Chris’ next hearing on June 22nd and that she will be prepared to testify against Chris Brown.  Oh, I hope and pray this happens.  I want the public to hear the real and true details of what happened that night.  I also think it’s a positive message for other women who are afraid to speak out against their abusers.

When asked how Rihanna is coping, Etra replied, “She is doing fine.  She is continuing with her career and moving on with her life and doing great.”

Ummmm, what can I say? It’s a song by Kanye West, but it’s four full minutes of Rihanna. She’s not doing anything particularly interesting, either.

I officially don’t get it.

Rihanna’s been a BUSY GIRL lately.

She’s in NYC recording her new album, but she’s definitely taking full advantage of her evenings. On Sunday, she and her band hit up Flashdancers gentlemen’s club on Broadway around midnight, after finishing up in the studio. “She and her group were tipping the girls quite frequently … it wasn’t only Rihanna,” says a source. “They had a good time. They were drinking sodas and water.” Good girl!

Ri-Ri wasn’t quite so good on Monday night, when she was spotted with a group of friends at Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge. Rihanna spent most of the night locking lips with Canadian former child actor-turned-rapper Aubrey “Drake” Graham. “She was drinking whiskey and apple juice and making out with him all night,” says a spy. “They were really cute together.” Rihanna left with him around midnight.

The song “Silly Boy” was released on the internet this week with vocals by Lady Gaga and Rihanna.  It gathered a lot of steam when Kanye West linked the track to his blog.

This new tune would be great and an awesome step forward for Rihanna especially, except for one tiny fly in the ointment:  It’s a fake.  Rihanna’s rep confirms to Us  that Riri didn’t record this song.

I can’t wait for Kanye’s ALL CAPS EXPLANATION OF WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON!

Check out this new track from Lady GaGa and Rihanna — it’s called “Silly Boy,” and the lyrics would suggest that Rihanna still believes she’s a good girl, and that perhaps Chris Brown blew it for good. Man, I hope so. As far as PR moves go, though, this is a bright one for Rihanna — team up with another hot artist so the heat’s not all on her, and sing about a dude who messed everything up with an awesome girl. Very smart.
