Sunday marks one year since I began work here at Evil Beet as your Weekend Editor.  I thank you for all of your support both then and as I moved to weekdays.  For every reader that has vomited their venomous vitriol in my direction, I’ve encountered a hundred-fold of kind and wonderful people.  I even thank the vomiters for reading and sharing their thoughts.

I’ve also learned a lot about myself over the past year, but no self-revelation has been more jarring than when I realized that I don’t watch enough television.  I had to research the premise of How I Met Your Mother because it’s yet another show that I’ve never seen.  Odd really, since I totally love Neil Patrick Harris.  And odd since I write entertainment and celeb news for a living.  As I start Year Two here at EB, I commit to watching a lot more television.  I’ve spent the past few days teaching my kids how to cook, drive and do their own laundry, so I should be all set to dedicate about 8 hours a day to the tube starting next week.

Anyway, if you’re a fan of HIMYM you already know that the audience doesn’t know who the mother of Ted’s kids is.  In honor of the 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother, it sounds like there’s a chance that you might finally meet the mom.  And she’s, uh … hot.

Rachel Bilson has signed on for a one-episode appearance that is expected to happen around that 100th episode, which is when the question of “Who?” will finally be answered.

I like Rachel Bilson.  I think she’s cute and had a great clothing collection prior to getting Lindsayed – that’s my new term for mysterious, masked home invasions — but I don’t get the Rachel and Hayden Christensen match up at all.  They are one of those couple that got engaged, yet I can not envision them ever getting married.  Sorry, Rach!

Her mom stopped by the house and discovered that, though there was no sign of forced entry, a television set, a vintage shoe collection, all her jewelry and — if I was burgled, this is what would put me on suicide watch — her entire Chanel collection had been stolen.  No one wants to suffer a crime like that, but leave the Chanel alone.  It’s just not right!

Bilson’s fashion collection is rather legendary; the value of stolen goods totals in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Bilson is reportedly and understandably “devastated.”

Rachel showed off her engagement ring for the first time on Monday, as she did some grocery shopping in LA.

She got engaged to her Jumper co-star, Hayden Christensen, back in December, but the news just broke last week.

Apparently Rachel Bilson is marrying her gay boyfriend, Jumper Hayden Christensen, but they haven’t set a date yet, because they’re not actually getting married due to his gayness.

According to a friend of the actress, the couple got engaged in December. “They’re so excited,” says the pal, adding that no wedding date has been set. “They’re a great couple. Rachel seems thrilled beyond belief.”

Whatever.

It’s weird, I was Twittering with another writer last night about whether American Idol’s Casey Carlson looked more like Rachel Bilson or PMOY Jayde Nicole. (I said Jayde, he said Rachel. It doesn’t matter because she’s gone after that shitshow of a performance last night.) Then he was like, “Eww, all this talk of Playmates makes me need to look at pictures of the pure Freido Pinto.” And then news broke today that Freida Pinto is leaving her husband. How often do we talk about either of these people? I swear the Gossip Gods are listening in on my Twitter. (But Casey totally looks more like Jayde.)

Although this isn’t really stuff I’d wear — it’s not horrendous, it’s just not my personal style — I was pleasantly surprised to find that damn near everything in the line is priced under $100, including jeans and jackets. Plus a ton of it already looks to be sold out on the DKNY website.

Call me crazy, but I actually think that movie looks good. I think it’s because I have a secret fantasy that I could just jump from place to place with a single thought. I think a lot of my ex-boyfriends would end up dead, and I’d never, ever be caught. Just saying.

And, no, Rachel wasn’t nude in the pages. In fact, she told Playboy that she’s lost out on roles because she refuses to do nudity. She’s also scared of mushrooms. No, seriously.

“We realized we were wearing the same shoes! I did a one-two switcheroo and put on my other favorite pair!”

Everyone seemed to be in a genuinely good mood on Sunday at the Disney-sponsored event to support the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Westwood.

Jamie-Lynn Spears was there with an unidentified guest (a boyfriend, maybe? Anyone know who this Abercrombied hottie is?), and, boy, she must just be really happy that it’s not her sister in jail right now. A very pregnant Bridget Moynahan was goofing around with an adorable Molly Sims. Lauren Conrad showed up with Audrina Patridge (not surprisingly, there was no Heidi Montag in sight). Carmen Electra showed up, as did ex-hubby Dave Navarro (wearing the most adorable little shirt — I’m pretty sure I got the same one at Banana Republic a few seasons ago). Brooke Burke even brought a cowboy hat. And, of course, my darling Ashley Tisdale, once again investing her time and energy in charity rather than partying.
