Patrick Swayze has checked into the hospital for observation after coming down with pneumonia as a result of chemotherapy. He is hopeful that he will be released soon, and get back to promoting The Beast, his new TV show with A&E.

Meanwhile, I promise to stop texting people to complain about the flu I have today.

Our thoughts are with you, Patrick!!!

Patrick Swayze: Alive and Kicking!

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

Back in March, word spread that Patrick Swayze had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and had only weeks to live. Patrick’s doctors quickly said that he was actually responding quite well to his treatment and, in June, Patrick announced that, despite his cancer, he would be continuing with his lead role on a new A&E series called The Beast. The show began filming in Chicago this summer, and just had its wrap party on Sunday night.

Patrick was present.

I’m not going to say he looks great, because he doesn’t. But he’s up and he’s walking and, hell, he just filmed a whole TV series. Not bad for someone who supposedly only had weeks to live as of March.

He’s pictured below with co-star Billy Dec.

Patrick Swayze Recovering?

Looks like P-Swayz is responding well to treatments. From his physician, Dr. George Fisher:

“Patrick Swayze continues to respond well to his treatment for pancreatic cancer. Because of his excellent response, he will continue the same therapy at Stanford.”

Nice. We’re pulling for you Pat.

**Beet internal Update: Beet appreciates all your kind wishes and will be back soon, promise!**

Outlook Good for Patrick Swayze

The star’s publicist released this statement today:

“Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick’s physician Dr. George Fisher states, ‘Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.’ Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

Get better, buddy!!!! We’re cheering you on!!!

This is really, really sad.

Patrick Swayze was diagnosed a month ago with terminal pancreatic cancer, and the 55-year-old actor may only have weeks to live.

The average life expectancy is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.

God bless, dude.
