The Insider is reporting that Owen Wilson, who attempted suicide on Sunday, has a history of depression and drug and alcohol abuse. He spent time in the Hazeldon rehab center in Minnesota seven years ago.

Owen’s stayed sober and healthy for awhile, but apparently recently he’s fallen off the wagon and, now, into a hospital (where he’s in good condition).

I remember back when he was dating Kate Hudson, reports surfaced about he, Kate and brother Luke tossing back shots at an LA bar. I didn’t run the story. I thought to myself at the time, “This must be made up — I thought he was clean and sober.” But maybe they were the truth…

Why on earth would his brother be tolerating him drinking if he knew he had a problem?

And why would Kate?? She has yet to comment about any of this. She’s been linked recently to Dax Shephard, and photos surfaced earlier this month of the two of them sucking face.

There will certainly be much more to come of this story …

The star of the upcoming The Darjeeling Limited, and recent ex-boyfriend of Kate Hudson, was rushed the the hospital on Sunday night after a family member found him near death in his Los Angeles home.

Initial reports suggested that it was an accidental drug overdose, but now The National Enquirer is reporting the hospitalization was the result of a suicide attempt, claiming Wilson cut both his wrists and took a large number of pills.

He was brought to St. John’s hospital and later transferred to Cedars-Sinai. His brothers, Luke and Andrew, were spotted at the hospital with him, along with his parents.

On Monday, Wilson released the following statement:

“I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.”

Owen was suspiciously absent for the press conference for The Darjeeling Limited a couple weeks ago. In fact, we haven’t seen much of him at all lately.

For those who still care Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson are no more. I actually forgot that they were dating. They were a match made in SoCal heaven but I don’t really think Owen is a “relationship” kind of guy.

They called it quits, apparently, right before Memorial Day Weekend. Even though recently they have been seen more in public neither of them seem ready to settle down. I’ll bet they get back together and break up a few more times in the future.

We’ve known they were together since last August, but Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson stepped out in public together for the first time — for the after-party of the premiere of Owen’s latest film, The Wendell Baker Story. K-Hud also looked pretty cozy with Wilson’s co-star Eva Mendez … or maybe they were both just a little tipsy. But if I were Owen, I’d have a pretty great idea for the after-after-party.

Owen and Luke were on-hand for the LA premiere of their new movie, The Wendell Baker Story. They were joined by Eva Mendez, looking breathtaking as usual, Bridget and Pete Sampras (Bridget looking lovely, Pete looking, well, balding), and Johnny Knoxville, up to his usual antics.

Owen and Kate last Friday went on a cozy lunch date in Santa Monica. After Owen, Kate’s “You, Me and Dupree” costar, broke up her marriage to that uggs rocker guy there were rumors that the relationship was over as Owen is a notorious toxic bachelor. I am guessing, from the looks of this photo, that their relationship is back on.

They actually look really cute together. I don’t care if Kate cheated, she is just adorable.
