Hailey Glassman has granted an interview to People, in which she shares how thrilled her family is that their 22-year-old daughter has hooked up with a decade-older father of eight.  ”They love him.  They think of him as part of the family. They think things happen for a reason.  The most important thing is if someone fits in with my family … This is perfect. It just fits.”

Glassman also raved about Jon’s cooking.  ”He’s a great cook. He cooks roasted veggies with special seasoning and sauces, and he grills pineapple with a butter concoction.”  I think she’s a college graduate, but I question her intelligence as she classifies grilled produce as “cooking.”  (Actually, I question her intelligence because she’s actively choosing to be the rebound lay to a dude who has more than a half-dozen kids, but whatever.)

Hailey didn’t hesitate in sneaking in a parting shot directed right at Kate Gosselin:   ”I’m a huge believer in not controlling someone.  I’ll give my opinion but tell him to do what he wants to do. He said, ‘I’m just not used to having an option.’ I told him life is about options.”

As photo after photo of Jon “Ed Hardy” Gosselin and new 22-year-old girlfriend hit the Internet for public consumption, and news broke that Jon bought a two-bedroom bachelor pad in Manhattan and seems to be a fixture on the bar scene out there already, there is a palpable change in public opinion. Suddenly, people are seeing why Kate may have been so frustrated with Jon in the first place. I got this exclusive insider tip in my inbox this morning:

My bosses son is a production assistant on Jon and Kate Plus 8. I had dinner at their house about a month and a half ago (before any major announcements were made). He couldn’t reveal much other then that they had planned a trip to Korea as a family (because of Jon’s ethnicity) but that was scrapped after they decided to separate. He did however tell me of his relationship with Kate and how she is not at all the person TLC and the show portray her as. He told me how Jon was a bit of an absent father and all around douchey and resistant to getting older and that Kate truly tried to keep their marriage afloat. My bosses son was even on an episode of the show to help set up a birthday party after Jon failed to show up. He has had Kate in his car numerous times slouched in the back seat to avoid paparazzi and get out of her neighborhood. Although he continues to work on the show (a boy needs to eat) he said he is totally disgusted with the editing and overall portrayal of Kate.

Jon Gosselin’s new girlfriend Hailey Glassman hasn’t accepted my Facebook friend request just yet, but she was stupid enough to accept one from someone at HuffPo.  And the pictures behind the pearly gates known as a private profile — and oh, how I hate those.  They hamper my cyber-stalking so much — really tell the story of any average 22-year-old college student.  I also threw in her 2005 mug shot — she was arrested for drug possession and consumption — for good measure.  Let’s hope for everyone involved that Jon Gosselin is just enjoying this chick’s trick pelvis and he isn’t planning on marrying her or anything as illogical as that. 

Do you think Jon Gosselin is sick of himself yet?  I know we’re all totally over Jon, but do you think he’s had a conversation with the douche in the mirror yet?  And didn’t you totally think Kate was going to be the media whore?  As Jon chilled, getting bjs and a sunburn on  a yacht in St. Tropez, Kate was at home sitting on a blanket in her yard while her kids played.  I never would have called it that way, but I’m totally moving to Team Kate.

Some heart-warming news amidst what feels like weeks and weeks of bad news — Jon and Kate Gosselin spent the Fourth of July together with their eight kids. It’s not a reconciliation, by any means, but it’s nice to see two parents put aside their difficulties and act like adults so that they can both spend the holiday with their children.

At their home in Wernersville, Pa., the family played volleyball and picked blueberries for a cake that Kate was baking, while Jon was seen lighting up a sparkler. The couple decided weeks ago to spend the holiday as a family.

“Jon pointed to the July 4 holiday and said, ‘What are we going to do about that?’” Kate said in a recent interview. “I absolutely cannot imagine not spending every single holiday with my kids. I don’t care what it takes. I will be there.”

“During this very difficult time we will be working to focus solely on the needs of our family.  This includes no longer commenting publicly or reacting to media stories and speculation.  Our goal is to do the very best for our children and that will be done as privately as possible.  We appreciate the understanding, support and well wishes from so many. Thank you.”

See what happens when a major superstar (or two!) dies?  The media is completely flooded with Michael Jackson “Could It Have Been Drugs?” stories, that little else gets reported.  This is what I’ve been reduced to — stalking the Gosselin’s mail.

So, the big story today is that Jon Gosselin got a package from Olive Kids (cuter, personalized things as seen before on J&K+8) delivered via UPS and he — gasp! — wasn’t wearing his wedding band.  I guess this means it’s officially over.  The alleged affairs, separate vacations, withering looks and general silence between Jon and Kate are one thing, but when the ring comes off?  It’s cooked.
