I am frightened to admit just how much conversation Kate Gosselin’s new hairdo seems to be generating on the Internet.

Kate was a guest host on The View yesterday and today.  Today, it appears that the stylist decided to whack Kate’s head with a curling iron, tame down the back, take the charms off her hoop earrings and call it a “makeover”.

So, um, what do you think of Kate’s “makeover”?  And since her kids met daddy’s girlfriend over the weekend, maybe it’s time to take off the wedding ring.

About Hailey Glassman, he says “I love her more than I did Kate.” He says Hailey gives him the respect and encouragement “that a man needs,” which was obviously absent in his relationship with Kate, and then he harps on about how you can’t choose who you love.

I don’t necessarily disagree with the statements he’s making, but, in the way he delivers those statements, he manages to sound entirely like a 12-year-old boy pleading his case to a teacher who flunked him because he didn’t do any of the homework all year. He’s desperate and unsure of himself and self-centered and the dog ate his homework and he loves the dog soooo much; he may even love the dog more than algebra. And why doesn’t anyone understand how hard it is for him to have a dog who eats his homework every goddamn day? Life is so unfair. The world needs to know how unfair his life is.

Kate’s response statement:

“For the sake of my children I maintain that I’m not going to go into details of aspects I believe should remain private.”

While filming a sketch for Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kathy Griffin hit up the uber hip and swank pool at the Roosevelt Hotel dressed up as one of our regular targets here at EvilBeet, Ms Kate Gosselin. Hilarious. I actually nearly spit Diet Coke all over my screen when I saw her get up, complete with c-section scar. Apparently the clueless hipsters, rich kids and elderly people that frequent the pool were just as taken aback as well, except they actually thought Griffin WAS Gosselin. “Kate who? Just call me Kathy Gosselin. All I need now is a sexy bodyguard,” People Magazine quoted the funny lady as saying. 

We already discussed that Whitney was on GMA today, but one of our old EB faves was also on the show. Jon Gosselin took to the hot seat to answer some questions about his divorce from Kate and with his usual mouth full of marbles, he told Chris Cuomo that despite all of his hard work, Kate’s busy book tour schedule and her “abuse” is what drove the two apart. He makes his ex out to be a control freak bitch who left him at home to watch after their children. Ah, such a victim.

Let’s get something straight: These people are living a lifestyle that’s afforded to them because Kate pumped out sextuplets after already having twins and to many, that is an interesting story. I’m sure, when faced with the option, more people would rather talk to the mother that housed these children in her body than the father. That’s just how these things work. For Jon to take issue with the fact that he’s not making money off the extremely rare conditions that his children were born under the way he wants to, that’s just pig-headed and selfish. While another man would be proud of his wife and the way that they’ve both capitalized on this natural circumstance together, Jon Gosselin takes it as abuse. And he’s really gotten his way now, hasn’t he? Now Kate is always at home with the children and he’s gallivanting around the world with hideously tacky and unsavory people. He sure got her!

You know, I’m thinking that a 22 year old girlfriend may be exactly what he’s mentally capable of handling.

Kate Gosselin has officially joned the list of women that will be filling in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View while she finishes out her maternity leave early this fall. Gosselin and her recently improved hairdo will be sitting in with Joy, Sheri and Whoopi on September 14th and 15th (if the show’s format has not changed, she’ll be there on Monday for the day of Hot Topics, which is my favorite hour of television all week), in part to promote the new season of Jon and Kate Plus 8.

While it doesn’t seem like there will be much for Kate to dish on that we haven’t heard before, I am more interested to hear her opinion on topics of the day than any of the other guests they have lined up to fill in. Meghan McCain, well, I find her a little bit difficult to take seriously and La Toya Jackson is only interesting if she’s willing to dish on Michael and the rest of her family. And just throwing it out there Bill Gedde, producer of The View: I am totally available. I’m wide-open for you, Bill. I can be there in like, twenty minutes.

Kate Gosselin was on Larry King tonight looking gorgeous (not exactly well-rested, but calm and beautiful) and basically doing exactly what she’s been doing for months now — looking like the way better parent. However, she doesn’t straight-up come out and diss Jon — she says he’s a good father, but they differ on the actions he’s taking right now. Very nice, Miz Gosselin.

Also — say what you will about Larry King, the man’s a brilliant interviewer.

It just keeps getting worse for the Gosselin family.  As the ratings show, America is sick of these two who couldn’t either find a way to keep it together for their eight kids or part in a truly amicable fashion.  Last night:  big fight at chez Gosselin.

There are a couple different versions of the chain of events.  Radar reports that Kate showed up at the house during Jon’s scheduled time.  That’s a no-no.  He wanted Kate to leave, she wouldn’t, cops were called.  INF Photo, the agency who was there taking pics, reports it a little differently.  According to the paps, Kate showed up at the house, upset because Jon had an unauthorized babysitter there with the kids.  She was locked out at the gate, screaming, cops were called.  No matter what, the show clearly needs to be renamed Jon & Kate Plus Hate.

Either way, the end result was that Kate checked into a Days Inn in Reading after eating a fast food dinner in her car.  I find Kate Gosselin’s reality — even if it’s one she created herself — to be a sad one.
