All of America may still be angry with him for screwing over our little sweetheart at the VMAs, but at least Amber Rose still loves him! But I have a feeling all that bleach went to her head a long time ago.

Kanye and his girlfriend were spotted doing some SERIOUS shopping in Rome on Thursday. The photogs say they spent the whole day hitting up uber-expensive shops like Fendi and Missoni. It’s such a shame that money can’t buy class!

Kanye West’s scary girlfriend doesn’t think there’s anything funny about the Twitter rumors that her man is dead. Of course at this point we all know that those rumors are not true and it’s just a practical joke started by some bored people with too much time on their hands to Tweet, but Amber Rose made a statement on her Twitter today letting the world know that not only is her boy alive, but that she thinks whoever started this whole thing is a “ridiculous”!

This RIPKanyeWest topic is not funny and its NOT TRUE! He has people like myself and his family that love him very much. Its in extreme poor taste to have that as a trendy topic. It’s totally disrespectful to make up a story like this where all human and we all make mistakes and to say someone died cuz of a mistake is ridiculous. U wouldn’t want someone to say that about u Or someone u love it’s not funny. #LongLiveYeezy!!!!!

Why the Twitterers who started all this hubbub chose Kanye is a mystery, but this point it’s not disrespectful and it’s clearly a joke. And how much do you love this alien Barbie referring to “trending topics” as “trendy topics”?

Taylor Swift was a guest on The View today — incidentally, Kate Gosselin sucks as a guest host — and the harpies wasted no time asking her about the whole VMA debacle.  I’m so glad she got a chance to let everyone know that Kanye hasn’t even contacted her yet.

It’s kind of old news in this Autumn of Anger, but Kanye sure has a lot of time to blog apologies and talk to Leno about being a dickwad, why not call the girl, apologize and move on?  He’s more interested in restoring his public image — and it sucked to begin with — than actually connecting with someone he hurt and making it right.  I’ve said it before, I’ll say it now, and I assume I’ll be saying it again:  Fuck you, Kanye.

Sigh. For the billionth time, Kanye West is out and about apologizing for his obnoxious behavior. Kanye kept his commitment to appear on the first episode of Jay Leno’s new prime-time show, and he had a few things to say about his behavior the previous night.

“Have you had a tough day?” Leno asked West, 32, as the studio audience erupted in laughter. Speaking seriously, West replied, “Yeah, it’s been extremely difficult.” He admitted to “just dealing with the fact that I hurt someone or took anything away, you know, from a talented artist or from anyone, because I only wanted to help people.”

Explaining why he was giving a shout-out to the other nominee, Beyoncé, West said, “My entire life, I’ve only wanted to give and do something that I felt was right. And I immediately knew in the situation that it was wrong, and it wasn’t a spectacle or just – you know, it’s actually someone’s emotions, you know, that I stepped on.”

Concurring with many of the sentiments expressed by critics since the incident, West said, “And it was very … rude, period. And, you know, I’d like to be able to apologize to her in person.”

West said he knew he’d erred “as soon as I gave the mic back to her and she didn’t keep going.”

Summing up what he did and how he now feels about it, West said, “I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt.”

Kanye continued to further rationalize his behavior:

“So many celebrities, they never take the time off,” he said. “I’ve never taken the time off to really — you know, just music after music and tour after tour. I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ’cause, and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve.”

Ya know, Kanye, you pull this shit at pretty regular intervals. And normally it’s not that big of a deal to me, because you’re not out hurting other people, you’re just making a giant ass of yourself, which is your prerogative. I think you’re a genius — I’ll say that flat-out — but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to play by the same rules of social conduct as the rest of us. You said this in your song “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”:

I feel the pressure, under more scrutiny /
and what I do? /
act more stupidly /
bought more jewelry /
more Louis V /
my momma couldn’t get through to me /
the drama, people suing me /
I’m on TV talking like it’s just you and me

I mean, the entire song is basically you talking about how you realize what an asshole you’ve been since you got famous, how you regret those decisions. I’m pretty sure the last statement is a reference to this insanity:

Even if you were correct on that point, you know you have a tendency to behave inappropriately on live television. So WTF were you doing drinking a whole damn bottle of Hennessy before the show? How could you possibly expect that to end well? You don’t need to pull shit like this — your talent speaks for itself, and you have a perfectly large platform from which to reasonably express your concerns. Stop apologizing, Kanye, and start changing your behavior.

I’ve never been more proud of a U.S. President than I am today! Even if the only reason he got elected is because of Oprah, I sure am glad I voted for him. During a CNBC interview today, President Obama, off the record, called Kanye West a “jackass” due to his asswipe, obnoxious remarks at the VMAs last night. Unfortunately, in a world with Twitter, nothing is off the record. ABC News reporter Terry Moran wrote the following on his Twitter: “Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a “jackass” for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.” He deleted it soon after, but he has over a million followers, so the damage had been done.

ABC News issued the following statement:

In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.

The White House had no immediate comment.

I can’t wait to see what sort of totally sober, all-caps blog response Kanye has to this shit.

Ahhh, Monday-morning quarterbacking. Rumors abound on the Internet today that perhaps MTV intentionally staged the Kanye rant for the publicity. (Note: I don’t think that’s true at all. In case you didn’t hear, I think Kanye’s an obnoxious alcoholic piece of shit who needs to think good and hard before he next decides to get wasted at a live televised event.)

But then it gets even weirder. RealNetworks — the company I work for, and which handles most of the advertising on this site — has a music product called Rhapsody (which FINALLY runs on the iPhone now, woot woot!). Rhapsody had purchased ad space at the VMAs long ago, to run immediately after Taylor Swift’s performance of “You Belong to Me.” The ad has a voice-over that says “This moment belongs to Taylor Swift.” In light of the voice-over and the Kanye West incident prior, there have been rumors circulating that Rhapsody was somehow involved in MTV’s “staging” of the Kanye West rant.

Apparently news of my love for Taylor Swift is so widespread at that company that a rep for the PR and marketing team actually stopped me in the hall today to let me know that the company had NOTHING to do with any rumored “staging” of the Kanye rant. I thought that was pretty funny. They were worried I’d hear the rumors and be pissed. The company also took to the RealNetworks blog today to deny any involvement: Let’s go ahead and put this rumor to rest. IF the “Kanye Incident” is part of a larger PR stunt by our friends at MTV, it’s news to us.

And I believe them, because if RealNetworks did have anything to do with my beloved Taylor Swift’s shining moment being ruined, I’m sure my badge wouldn’t have worked this morning. There’s NO WAY they would have let me in the building knowing how pissed I would have been.

Hey y’all. I know everyone’s waiting for me to weigh in on this Kanye nonsense from last night. I’ll tell ya what: I heard the news (I wasn’t watching the show live), and I was fucking pissed. Taylor Swift is the little sister I adopted without her permission, and NOBODY gets to fuck with her like that. I think she handled herself perfectly, both during and after the incident, and I think Kanye West is a fucking alcoholic who should know by now that drinking prior to live, televised awards shows never results in him conducting himself appropriately. I feel sad for him; I’m sure his embarrassment today is surpassed only by his hangover. But just as I was getting all worked up about that, scouring the web for more information, I saw the news that they found the body of that missing Yale grad student, and suddenly a stupid Kanye West rant didn’t seem so important. My heart just breaks for the family and friends of that girl. It’s so unspeakably tragic.

But I suppose there was just anger in the air this weekend, as Serena Williams completely lost her shit on the tennis court at the US Open on Saturday night. The lineswoman calls a foot fault on Serena during her second serve, and Serena then appears to threaten to do something involving the tennis ball and the lineswoman’s orifices. For whatever reason, I’m loving this clip. I mean, THIS is the kind of forum where you fight back against decisions — far more appropriate than frightening poor Taylor Swift at the VMAs. And then the lineswoman goes and tattles on Serena and she basically forfeits the match. Anyway. It’s a fun clip.

Here’s the screen grab from Kanye’s website where he posted an apology — it’s gone now — to Taylor Swift.  So he’s sorry, he likes her, he just didn’t feel she deserved the award.  That seems reasonable.

Oh, how this pains me.  You all know that I’m not a huge fan of Beyonce’s — molls is a die-hard fan and I really wish this story broke while she was still working — but you have to watch this.  Last night, after Kanye acted like the biggest asshole in the universe, Beyonce won Video of the Year and turned over her acceptance speech time to Taylor Swift so that she could have her moment.  I begrudgingly admit that Beyonce was a true class act.  I searched far and wide for a quality clip that didn’t involve the camera cutting to Perez, but I failed.  As an aside, Lady Gaga looks like a fantasy danish.

Kanye was supposed to perform but his time was scrapped.  It’s all rumor at this point, but people on Twitter were saying that he was escorted to the door.  Oh, how I hope that is true.  People reports that Kanye did post an apology to Taylor on his blog.  I didn’t see it there this morning, but People would never lie to me, so it must be true.  I’m sure it read something like:  ”TAYLOR I’M SORRY BUT BEYONCE IS THE BEST AND YOU ARE IRRELEVANT”

Katy Perry may have summed it up best on Twitter last night:  ”FUCK U KANYE. IT’S LIKE U STEPPED 0N A KITTEN.”

We have an unspoken rule around here where we try not to use bad language unless the situation calls for it.  All things Mischa will always call for it.  So will Kanye West’s actions at the VMAs tonight.  

Okay, this just happened.  I don’t even have video for it yet.  Taylor Swift won an award for Best Video.  In the middle of her acceptance speech, Kanye ripped the microphone out of her hand and announced to the audience that Beyonce had the best video.  The camera flashed to Beyonce who looked horrified, the audience went nuts and Taylor almost burst out in tears.

I can’t even properly express my level of disgust for taking Taylor’s moment away.  There is something seriously wrong with that dude — something that extends far beyond “unprofessional”.

Video will be up when it hits the Internet.  You can bet on that.

In his song “Flashing Lights” Kanye says “Try to hit you with the ‘Oeur de Whopee’/Till I get flashed by the paparazzi/Damn, these n****’s got me/I hate these n****’s more than the Nazis”… And he ain’t kidding, kids. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Kanye and his bald Barbie girlfriend freakin’ out on the paps for snapping his photo, and this time, he’s even confronting the dude shooting video from the safety of his car. Here’s my thing with Kanye: How can a man who boasts about chasing fame to the degree he does care about a having his picture taken while he’s going about his buisness? The two of them are dressed well enough, they aren’t fighting, there’s no drama going on, so just shut up and smile, man. Beside putting out jams for me to dance to in the club, that’s really his only job as a performer. Why does Kanye have such beef with the paps? You’d think he’d love it.
