Isaiah Washington Blames T.R. Knight and Kate Heigl

In his most recent interview:

I’m not firing back at anybody else in the cast but T.R. Knight and Katie Heigl because they both know as well as Chandra Wilson knows that T.R. Knight was very tactical in trying to remove me from the show because he knows that I know, and I was gagged, that he has been working on a conspiracy to get Patrick Dempsey and myself off the show for the last year and a half.

The only reason I used his name, T.R., in the argument was because he had led me to believe that Patrick Dempsey was so abusive and so horrible to people in a two and a half hour conversation on the plane. For two and a half hours, this boy talked my ear off, Keith, about how horrible Patrick Dempsey is and how he needs to be removed from the show. And in my argument, the irony of it is that Patrick happened to show some behavior that was very in line with what T.R. was telling me on the plane and I challenged T.R. to deny it or say this isn’t true.

All the dirty macking that he gave me about Patrick Dempsey led me to believe that Patrick was trying to treat me in a disrespectful manner, in the same kind of manner apparently accorded to T.R. that Patrick had treated him. And even to this day, when I went back to the set Patrick Dempsey and T.R. still have a rift and are still not on speaking terms. They do not talk to each other…I know Patrick Dempsey has supported me by stating that if there is anyone that needs to be fired it is T.R. Knight because he has created such a negative environment on that set because he felt like he has not been treated and given the same leading man kinds of story lines that have been given to Patrick and Isaiah. He felt like his character was being treated very caricatureish and dopey and he wanted a change. That’s why you see his character changing so significantly into being all of a sudden this really dopey guy into being this uber he-man that’s sleeping with everyone.

This is something that T.R. Knight has been trying to do and using the incident of the so-called F-word that was targeted at him, which is a flat out lie, to blackmail the writers into doing his bidding, and it’s not working. The producers are not happy about it, and quite frankly, they all think that something has gone awfully awry with the stability of T.R. Knight. And I can freely say this now because I am no longer a Disney employee and I am no longer gagged. But everyone there, including the producers, all the way up to Touchstone, are very disappointed in the behavior of T.R. Knight.

And let me be clear Keith. All of this I’m saying to you has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he’s gay. He came out October 19 as purely a tactical move to do exactly what it did, get public opinion in an outrage to lead them to believe that he is being picked on because he is gay. He could care less about the gay community.

Apparently Isaiah will be appearing on Larry King soon to talk about this some more.

Forget the Addison Montgomery spin-off. Let’s just make the cast live together next season and film a reality series about it! The Real World: Grey’s Anatomy. Who’s with me? Come on, Chandra Wilson!!

It Don’t Pay to Hate on the Gays: Isaiah Washington Gets the Boot at Grey’s

Isaiah Washington Kicked Off of Grey’s Anatomy

Yup, that’s right. Mr. Isaiah Washington just took a fabulous Prada loafer squarely in the ass.

Even though he denied that he’d be leaving Grey’s Anatomy, multiple sources have been loudly confirming that he was on his way out, and with T.R. Knight’s recent announcement that he’ll be returning to the show, the writing was on the wall in bright Shiseido red.

ABC studios stated on Thursday that Washington’s contract was not renewed for the upcoming season of Grey’s.

Isaiah, ever the beacon of good judgment in this otherwise distressing world, released the following statement, with no further explanation:

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.”

That Isaiah, he’s all class.

So if you’re wondering what all that ruckus is in WeHo tonight, it’s fair to assume that T.R. Knight and Kate Heigl are somewhere at its epicenter, appletinis in hand.

Let’s Take a Minute to Pretend I Care About What’s Going on with the Cast of Grey’s Anatomy

Ever since Isaiah Washington punched Patrick Dempsey on set and then called co-star T.R. Knight a “faggot” (and then did it again), there have been rumors that he would be leaving the show at the end of the season. Because he sucks and nobody wants to work with him. T.R. Knight and BFF Katherine Heigl have certainly been campaigning for his departure, with T.R. recounting his sob story to every magazine that will listen.

The season finale of Grey’s basically left the door open for either of them to leave: Washington’s character walked out on his own wedding and moved out of the place he shares with Christina, and O’Malley failed his intern exam. (Sorry for the spoiler, but, really, if you haven’t watched it by now, you’re not going to.) So, in the immortal words of Tyra Banks, who goes home? The violent homophobe who appears to be generally detested by the entire cast? Or the gay guy?

Nobody seems to know.

When asked last night if he would be returning next season, T.R. said, “I literally don’t know. It would be nice to know if I’m supposed to report back soon.” Apparently the producers haven’t told him, lest he tell everyone else.

Meanwhile, Us Weekly’s got a source at ABC that says “[Isaiah] will not be back as a series regular. The cast – especially the women – just don’t like him.” Other sources back up this claim, saying that Washington has been taking meetings in NYC and LA for TV series that will film at the same time as Grey’s, implying that he knows he won’t be back.

Washington’s rep denies these accounts, saying that “Isaiah is not off the show. We do not have a contract yet, but we expect to.”

I still have my fingers crossed for some strange twist of fate in which Katherine Heigl gets the boot, and we can get through ten minutes of that show next season without hearing Izzie whine about anything and everything. That would sure be nice.

Isaiah Washington Knows How Hard It Will Be for the Academy to Hand Him the Emmy He So Richly Deserves

It’s not like they’ll have a choice. I mean, Isaiah Washington is a fucking shoe-in for the Best Supporting Actor Emmy this year. And what an unfair position in which to put the Academy. To be willed — nay, downright forced – to hand an admitted homophobe an Emmy or be accused of voting based on matters other than sheer talent. It’s just not right. Accordingly, Isaiah Washington has pulled his name from consideration for the Best Supporting Actor Emmy. So everyone can just calm down and stop losing sleep over Isaiah Washington’s until now inevitable Emmy win.

Jesus. Is this how you work an ninth step in gayhab?

By “Never Said It” He Meant “Said It”

When I watched the Access Hollywood thing I thought to myself, well if Isaiah is denying (calling his castmate the f-word slur regarding sexuality) what does this T.R. Knight fellow have to say? It seems to me that if you’re innocent you get the alleged victim to defend you, especially given you’re on the same show and good PR is needed at this point.

It’s now clear that Knight didn’t rush to Isaiaiaiah’s aid because he was lying. Allegedly of course (full article here).

Knight says… Washington referred to Knight, who was around the corner, using the slur. “Everyone heard it,” Knight says. At the time, Knight had not gone public with his sexuality.

So there you go. I’m not sure why you would deny something months after the fact if there was a chance you actually said it. Mel and the other guy just said sorry and moved on. They’re still jerks but at least no one is talking about it right now.

Maybe he just forgot he hated our gay brothers for “one night only.”

McRacism Continues

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

I assume by now most of you have read the stories about Katherine Heigl telling an interviewer that Grey’s costar Isaiah Washington needs to “just not speak in public,” after Washington announced “No, I did not call T.R. a faggot. Never happened, never happened,” while backstage at the Golden Globes.

Anyway, my first thought upon reading this was “Holy shit, please tell me someone has this on video.” And, because Jesus loves me, Access Hollywood does. Heigl’s complete anti-Washington rant is here. Washington’s annoying little defense of himself is there, too.
