A spokeswoman for the New York City Medical Examiner’s office said that there is a “big possibility” that his cause of death could be announced as early as Tuesday, which is today.

Initial autopsy results were “inconclusive.”

So we could find out as soon as today that Heath died of a drug overdose. Which is what he died of. Which is so, so sad, but probably true.

The family of Heath Ledger returned to Australia last night, where they plan to bury Heath in a family plot with two of his grandparents at Perth’s Karrakatta Cemetery.

Ledger’s father Kim, mother Sally and older sister Kate were among a family group of about 15 people who flew out of Los Angeles last night bound for Tullamarine Airport.

Their departure was conducted in a military-style operation overseen by the Australian Consulate, with police and private security staff jostling with a small group of waiting media.

A representative from the Australian Consulate oversaw the delivery and check-in of the group’s luggage, two hours before the family arrived at LAX in luxury 4WDs.

Ledger’s parents appeared exhausted and sombre as the family was quickly ushered straight through a security check-point.

RIP, Heath.

Entertainment Tonight and The Insider have purchased exclusive rights to tragic video footage of Heath Ledger allegedly snorting cocaine at a party two years ago.

The footage, which PageSix.com hears was bought for $200,000, was shot without Heath’s knowledge, at the Chateau Marmont hotel in L.A. following the SAG awards on January 29, 2006.

In the video, Heath is shown talking while at a private party after sniffing a cocaine-like substance off a table with a rolled up bill in his hand. As he speaks, his face noticeably twitches.

An insider tells PageSix.com that Heath says at one point, “I’m gonna get so much shit from my girlfriend. We have a baby together. Matilda, Matilda Rose.”

ET and The Insider planned to show the clip later this week. PageSix.com understands this is now “under review.”

It looks like Heath Ledger had secretly battled drug and alcohol abuse for quite some time.

In March 2006 – just weeks after the couple walked the Oscars red carpet and when daughter Matilda was only five months old – Williams drove Ledger to Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, California, the confidant tells Us Weekly.

Ledger refused to check in, instead swaying her with a pledge to clean up.

Even after the couple realized “they were in way over their heads,” according to a source, and split in September 2007, two sources tell Us that Williams demanded Ledger be drug-tested before his visitations with Matilda.

Oh, Heath. You’ll be missed.

Police say they have no plans to question Mary-Kate Olsen in the death of Heath Ledger.

“There’s absolutely no indication investigators were going to speak to Mary-Kate Olsen,” the police commissioner said at a news conference. “They determined that they had all the info needed from witnesses who were on scene: That’s the cleaning woman, the masseuse.”

I think this is going to end up to be an open-and-shut case, kids. Heath died of a drug overdose, plain and simple and so, so sad.
