Anyway.

Dr. Phil is trying to book celebs for his 1000th episode show, but, after the Britney insanity, no one wants to touch him with a 10-foot pole.

“Nobody good wants to go near it,” says a source familiar with the booking process.

Ouch! See what happens when you try to help Britney Spears? Nothing good, people!

“I went to see Britney at the request of her family, I talked to [her mother] Lynne, I talked to [her father] Jamie, I talked to Bryan, her brother,” McGraw told CBS’s “The Early Show” today. “They were very frustrated that she apparently wasn’t going to be held for a longer period of time.”

Explaining that he has had “a running dialog” with the famous family for over a year, McGraw continued, “Thursday night, the phone rang, and it was Lynne – and she has a very close relationship with my wife, Robin – and, clearly, she was very upset, which you would expect, as any parent would be.”

So I guess Lynne and Jamie-Lynn were going to do Dr. P’s show this week, but have apparently come to their senses and pulled out, mainly at the request of Papa Spears, who was said to have been furious that Dr. Phil was making public statements about Britney’s condition.

This is some Twilight Zone shit, you guys. How did Dr. Phil get involved here? Crazy, crazy, crazy.

Anyway, here’s what he had to say to ET about his visit with Brit-Brit.

“My meeting with Britney and some of her family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention. She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her.”

As we reported earlier, Dr. Phil was spotted visiting Britney in the hospital this morning, before she checked out.

Now TMZ is saying that Dr. Phil’s show is airing a special on Britney on Monday — they’ve requested video from TMZ — and they’re thinking Dr. Phil’s visit was part of a plan to get Britney to appear on the show.

Yeah, that’s just what Brit needs. Some TV therapy. That’ll fix everything.
