I Am a Seriously Disturbed Individual

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

I’m totally digging Demi Lovato’s new album, Don’t Forget. I mean, the songs aren’t phenomenal, but I actually really like her voice. How weird does that make me? And if she’s this strong at 15, imagine what she’ll be cranking out in a few years.

Above is one of my favorite tracks, “On the Line,” which features Joe Jonas being completely vocally overpowered by Demi.

After the jump, some more Demi tracks, including “La La Land” and “Trainwreck.”

It’s a Momentous Day in Music

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Welcome to September 23, 2008.

Not only does the first single off of Britney Spears’ latest comeback attempt drop today — it’s called “Womanizer” — but, perhaps more importantly, the first Demi Lovato solo album, Don’t Forget, hits stores today!!!!

Her first single, “Get Back,” didn’t exactly rock the world — it topped the U.S. charts at #43 — but will her album do any better? Or will its release be eclipsed by Britney’s new single?

Oh, I’m trying so hard to care!

Rock On, Demi Lovato

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Okay, so I’m still technically Team Miley, because I don’t like Selena Gomez (no, I don’t have any reason for this, I just don’t like her, because I’m 26 years old and I have nothing better to do than develop allegiances in a romantic triangle involving two 15-year-old girls and a pre-pubescent boy-bander and what the fuck are you gonna do about it?), but I am developing a growing admiration for Demi Lovato.

Here’s some footage of her totally eating shit at a concert in Chicago on Sunday (the fall happens at 0:26) and she picks herself right up and laughs it off. She didn’t appear flustered in the least. I’m impressed, Ms. Lovato.

I Don’t Know Why I Have Such a Fondness for Demi Lovato, But I Do

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m still totally Team Miley in general, but something about Demi is just so damn adorable. Here’s the music video for her debut single, “Get Back,” which I am totally embarrassed to admit I listened to as soon as it came out, and I will also be getting her album. On Rhapsody, though, so it’ll be free. I won’t be paying, like, real money for it. I’m not that strange.

Miley Cyrus Is Obviously Not Okay with Selena Gomes Dating Nick Jonas

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Here’s the newly unearthed footage of Miley & Mandy making fun of Selena Gomes and Demi Lovato. In case you hadn’t heard, Selena’s getting hot and heavy with Miley’s ex, Nick Jonas, and she’s poised to be the Next Big Thing. Clearly Miley’s a little bit jealous.

And here’s the audio of Miley being totally genuine when she says that she’s “super sorry” if she offended either of the girls.

Oooh, I’m so excited about this!

Long-term, deep-seated resentments among these girls bodes sooo well for the future of gossip.

Disney’s Got Another Hit on Their Hands

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Camp Rock averaged 8.9 million viewers during its Friday premiere — an even bigger “opening” than the original HSM.

And, with that, we welcome with open arms the beautiful, talented and hopefully rehab-bound Demi Lovato to the future ranks of Tabloid Covers Disney Created.

Congratulations, Demi. Let me buy you a drink.
