Bow Wow Drives Drunk and Lives to Tweet About It

Rapper Lil’ Bow Wow was out and about on New Year’s Eve, tarnishing his sterling reputation by tweeting about driving drunk in his Lamborghini, although personally I think he did the most damage by admitting that he was spending time with Chris Brown.

Gawker did a pretty thorough analysis of this:

* Im fucked up!!! = I am drunk.
* Y i drive the lambo = I am driving my lamborghini now. I should not be.
* Chris might have to drive after next spot = As in, I’m driving it right now, while tweeting, and I’m so trashed I think I’ll ask Chris Brown to drive next, because after beating up Rihanna he had to go sober. But first: another party!

Bow Wow later deleted the tweet.

I have to tell you, the older I get, the more passe drunk driving is. When we were younger, it was all like, “Yeah, I’m cool to drive, it’s no biggie, I’ll be fine.” Now that we’re all more aware of our mortality (and/or been hit with a DUI), driving drunk is far less common. Last night, everyone at the party either took a cab or had a designated driver. (I was the designated driver for my friends — try it sometime, they love you forever!) Drunk driving: So not hot right now.

Chris Brown

“I didn’t get a call from them or anything. I felt embarrassed, but at the same time I felt stabbed in the back. Ok, Oprah you have so much power and people really listen to what you say. You don’t know anything that went down and you jump to conclusions and start brining people on the set that have no similarities to me other than a domestic dispute. And then compare them to me when she’s around me and knows me. She could have called me and been like, “Chris, let me get you on my show and I’m going to do this kind of segment.”

–Chris Brown steps to Oprah in VIBE Magazine for talking smack about him on her show and not inviting him to speak for himself.

Oh, Chris. You’re going after Oprah? You got dem kinda ballz now?

Chris Brown is So Deep

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

The preview for Chris Brown’s “Graffiti” came out today and man! Chris Brown has learned sooooooo much, you guys. It’s ridiculous what beating your famous girlfriend in a car in Hancock Park and then having to do like, forty hours of community service will do for a guy. He’s been “in the game” since he was 15 and then he was smacking around his girlfriend for a little bit and then he really figured out his life and now he’s back! He’s back with this faux-artsy music video with a documentary style intro.

Watch the video because it’s funny, but if you want to hear some much better new music, check out Timbaland’s new track that I can’t stop playing or even this Rihanna b-side.

GMA Boots Chris Brown Off The Schedule

The folks over at Good Morning America finally came to their senses and have scrapped Chris Brown’s scheduled performance.  Over the weekend, Zelda Lily writer Sarah Spangenberg reported that the morning show had cancelled Adam Lambert’s appearance in response to his controversial American Music Awards performance.  To fill the spot, GMA scheduled Chris Brown.

Now, they have given in to the public pressure and reversed that decision.  When will GMA learn what every Evil Beet writer has known forever?  Have a stance and stick with it; it’s impossible to make everyone happy.  In an act of compromise, Brown will appear on 20/20, minus the music and he won’t be allowed to plug his album.  Robin Roberts and Chris filmed the in-depth interview over the weekend; it will air December 11th.

I’m not a fan of Chris Brown; I don’t think he’s expressed authentic remorse.  Everything that comes out of his mouth sounds teleprompter-read or, at best, memorized from a script.  So, for me, it’s more about action than words.  If he wants to start regaining public favor, he can start by leaving that bow tie he wore on Larry King at home.  That’s real progress in my world.

So, I know you all had pretty strong opinions on the whole Lambert vs Brown debate.  Now that Brown has been moved to 20/20 without the performance aspect – he’ll probably get even more exposure than he would have in the morning — did ABC do the right thing?

Good Morning America Shuns Glambert, Has Open Arms For Chris Brown

Ed Note: This is a cross-post from our sister site Zelda Lily and is written by Sarah Spangenberg. The original post is here.

Good Morning America has never been one to shy away from controversy and this time — well, this time they haven’t, either. To the contrary: they’ve actually stirred it up more than ever before and encouraged the brou-ha-ha surrounding Adam Lambert’s performance on the recent American Music Awards with some homo-avoidant behavior.

After Adam Lambert’s “X”-rated, crotch-bulging, anal-fisting performance at the American Music Awards (which I thought was the hotness), he’s been barred from performing on Good Morning America. However, they have Chris “Mashed Rihanna” Brown slated to appear for interview and performance. So Good Morning America found it in their hearts to forgive a frequently-blacks-out-from-anger woman-beater, but in the same bated breath they’re too prude to succumb to the awesomeness and sexual naiveté that is Adam Lambert.

Good Morning America, get your prude, pink, chubby fist out of your ass — like, yesterday.

Who’s next, OJ Simpson via live feed from prison?

Rihanna Can’t Forget Chris Brown

Rihanna

Like every girl in history who has ever been through a break up, you know that every where you go you are reminded of that person. You hear something funny on TV that you both would have laughed at, “your song” comes on the radio, you run in to a mutual acquaintance. Just because someone is out of your life doesn’t mean you’re going to forget them any time soon, and that’s what Rihanna says she’s dealing with right now.

Even though she and Chris Brown have been done for awhile, the singer says there are constant reminders in their relationship. “There are a lot of … places that we’ve been to together, music, different things that come up that are reminders of your ex. When [his music] comes on the radio, I don’t … turn it off. I like his music. I’ve gotten over it, but there are definitely constant reminders … songs that were our favorite songs, or hit songs.”

Sounds familiar, right? Also, let us not forget that Rihanna and Chris remixed her biggest hit to date “Umbrella” together, so every time she performs that song, the memory must come creeping back to her as well.

Ahhh, break ups are sad, especially under these circumstances. I have no snark for you on this one today.

Chris Brown’s New Music Video

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Chris Brown has a new single and video out and oddly enough, it’s about him wanting to make up with a girlfriend. I’m assuming that this is just a poorly selected theme and in no way a reference to Rihanna because well, he’d have to be fucking crazy to think that he could get away with that. The video itself is quite pretty. Los Angeles in the kind of winter that we never actually experience, but even the emo glasses can’t hide the fact that this is Chris Brown and we’re like… so over him in a such a major way.
