It would seem unlikely for Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, The Pussycat Dolls and the LA Lakers to all be going down for the same crime, but believe it or not, all four are involved in a lawsuit with an electronics company that says they had their design ripped off by the artists and team.

Large Audience Display System has filed suit against these parties for using screens too similar to the ones they have patented in their shows and at their games. Britney just used hers on the Circus tour, but Justin has been using the ripped off design since FutureSex/LoveShow days.

While the suit may seem petty, the company that originated the design is screwed if major artists and venues keep using knock-offs of their design without receiving any credit. If using these fake designs continues to be a trend, the company will lose all their hard work and flounder.

Let’s hope that this just goes away and a settlement is quickly made. I really don’t want to be writing posts about Britney testifying in court over a projection screen. That might just push me over the edge.

First of all, I’ve scrounged up a bunch of pics of Brit strolling around Australia with no bra on.  As always, you’re welcome.  If there was ever a question as to the importance of proper support, let these pictures be your forewarning.

Enough of that; here’s why I’m moving to Australia:  the Minister for Fair Trade of New South Wales wants to create some sort of disclaimer that informs patrons paying up to $1,300 a ticket to see Britney in concert that she’ll be, um, lip-synching.  You just know that B is all excited — “I’m gettin’ my own law y’all!”

“It is Britney’s ‘prerogative’ to lip-sync, and it is my job to make sure consumers know what they are paying for up front,” Judge said in a statement released by the government.

One idea is to require disclaimers on promotional materials and tickets indicating that portions of a show will be pre-recorded.

It’s no secret that many artists, including Spears, lip-sync at times during their elaborate stage shows. And this Australian initiative may not have much effect on interest in Spears tickets, given that many of the shows Down Under are already sold out.

“Personally I would rather see a live set from a local artist,” Judge said, “but I am sure Britney’s fans will be treated to a spectacular show.”

I’m a huge fan of Brit’s music and I’ll always be her cheerleader.  I think she’s made amazing strides to get her life back on track and once she starts wearing an underwire, I’ll be even more impressed with her accomplishments.  Putting that aside, she’s a singer.  I wouldn’t pay a thousand dollars for any concert ticket, but I wouldn’t pay twenty dollars for mime.

Now that we can watch Britney Spears’ entire video instead of viewing it three seconds at a time, I’ve got something to say about the most ridiculous lyric ever:  “Livin’ in sin is the new thing.”  Oh, Brit — you are so young.

Tomorrow is the official release date for Britney Spears’ new song, “3.”  However, if you follow Brit on Twitter, you’ve been treated to still shots of the video all day yesterday — when she Tweeted to her fans not to be “stressed” waiting for her new video.  Like, really?  Stressed? — and today.  Now she’s releasing three-second (Get it?  Three?) teasers of the video.

As of publish time, she has only released one video clip.  Think Brit in lace leggings, dancing.  Three glorious seconds of recycled material.  You’d have to be a seriously die-hard fan *cough*Beet*cough to stalk B’s Twitter all day in anticipation of the next “clip” being posted.

Britney Spears has been dating her agent Jason Trawick for some time now and the two may be getting even more serious if Britney’s mom has anything to do with it. A friend of the family spoke to Us Weekly and said that not only is Lynne Spears behind the relationship, but she thinks the two should get hitched. “Lynne said, ‘He’s the kind of man you would dream of your daughter marrying. The kids love him, and he’s stable,’” the source told the magazine.

While an agent certainly is a step up from Britney’s last hubby, Kevin Federline, and it would definitely be wise for the pop star to keep her agent’s share of her earnings (10%!) in the family, one has to wonder if Britney is ready to take the leap again. She’s just landed on her feet after one of the craziest downward spirals we’ve ever seen play out in the press. However, those who know the couple say that he was one of the only people that stood by her throughout her crazy times. “Most everyone else abandoned her, but Jason refused to be completely cut out of Britney’s life. He’s very protective of her.” Yeah, or protective of her money. Who knows?

American Idol winner Kris Allen performed at Seton High School in Ohio to recognize their accomplishment of raising $5,000 for breast cancer research.  He did an unplugged, acoustical version of Britney’s “Baby One More Time”.  Here’s the question:  Who did it better?

Can’t be stopped! Won’t be stopped! Britney Spears is running the show like the multi-orgasmic chick at the threesome. Which is totally what this single is about. Well, at least, it’s definitely about a threesome. The multi-orgasmic part might just be me projecting.

Brit-Brit’s latest single, “3,” hit the #1 spot on the Billboard charts in its debut week. It’s the first #1 Billboard debut since Taylor Hicks’ 2006 hit “Do I Make You Proud” and the first non-”American Idol” song to enter the chart at #1 in almost 11 years. That is some seriously impressive shit. I mean, YOU SAW WHAT IT DID FOR TAYLOR HICKS.

The track hails from Britney’s upcoming The Singles Collection, due out November 10. And I love this song. I love it like I love being the only chick at the threesome. Multi-orgasmic or not.

Brit has a month to kill before she heads off on tour to Australia.  What else to do except buy bedding at Target and a bird cage at the pet store?  See?  She’s just like us, y’all.  Just dressed sluttier more exuberantly and surrounded by a bodyguard, LAPD, security guards and a Target Soft Lines Team Lead.

Britney’s custody order for ther two children with Kevin Federline, Sean Preston and Jayden James, has been extended for the rest of her tour. The two arranged for a 50/50 split (which, by the way, looks like a permanent arrangement, which is great for a mother who was destined to lose custody of her kids all together just a couple years ago) and what does that mean for Britney? Shelling out lots of dough to her doughy ex.

I don’t know why the figures surprise me, but I have to say that I was floored when I saw that not only does Britney have to put her ex up at hotels when he tours with her in order to get in his share of QT with the kids, but that she pays him twenty grand a month in child support and then another twenty-twenty five grand a month when she takes them out of the state of California. Yup! She’s paying him to spend time with her own kids out of state.

I generally think it’s tacky to comment on other people’s alimony, child support, custody and divorce settlements because they are so personal and often individualized for the needs of the couple and children and therefor not fair to toss the blanket of judgment on top of but MAN! Despite K-Fed’s about-face during Britney’s break down and their seemingly amicable relationship, I don’t know that anyone deserves forty five thousand dollars a month to raise their own babies, especially if such a sizable bonus comes from them being out of state with their own mother.

There was a time when people regularly speculated that the Spears-Federline boys wouldn’t make it past their first birthday in the hands of Britney and Kevin, but not only have they survived, the two are turning three and four. Both Jayden James (who celebrates his third year today) and Sean Preston (whose big day is on Monday) are adorable, healthy looking and seemingly well-adjusted considering the fact that their parents divorced quite early in their lives and their mama had a mental breakdown a little over a year ago.

While I’m not in the habit of congratulating mothers for keeping their kids alive, I have to hand it to Ms. Spears and her former husband for cleaning up their act and giving these two munchkins what they need.

Britney Spears performed in Greensboro, North Carolina on Saturday night.  This is significant for a couple of reasons:  1)  She did a cover of Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” 2)  She sang it live — no lip-synching and 3)  She sounded really good!  

The video and audio quality isn’t tops here, but you’ll get the basic idea.  Maybe it’s time for Britney to abandon her pop tart tunes and go for some more gritty material that she can — oh, I don’t know — actually sing.  The human voice matures, and maybe it’s time for our gal Spears to step it up regarding her material selection.

I admire Brit for rising from the ashes when everyone thought she was down for the count, but I’d be pissed to go to a concert just to see her mouth some over-produced music.  This clip seems more like real performing!

Remember when Brit was all crazy and pink-haired and wasn’t talking to her mom, dad, sister or brother?  Those were sad days!  This weekend, three generations of the Spears clan vacationed together in Miami.  Mom Lynne was joined by her ex Jamie, Brit, Jamie Lynn and all the grandkids — Sean, Jayden and Maddie.

The mid-tier Spears’, Britney and Jamie Lynn, were looking good in their skimpy bikinis.  They are the poster children for having children while youth is on your side.
