Barack Obama to Do the Daily Show on Wednesday

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

As this election winds to a close, Barack Obama is ramping up, with an appearance on The Daily Show on Wednesday and a rumored appearance on SNL this weekend.

A major-party Presidential candidate doing The Daily Show just days before the election?

Dude, when Jon Stewart started out his silly little fake cable-news show, who would’ve thunk it? Amazing.

Above, find a clip of the last time Obama appeared on The Daily Show.

Quotables

“I think what has been striking in this campaign is the the degree to which these kind of hate groups have been marginalized. That’s not who America is. That’s not who our future is. What I’ve found is people here don’t care what color you are. What they’re trying to figure out is who can deliver. It’s just like the Pittsburgh Steelers: they don’t care what color you are, they just want to figure out, can you make the plays?”

Barack Obama, in an interview with a Pittsburgh TV station yesterday, discussing the recently race-based threat on his life disrupted by the ATF.

Obama to Appear on SNL Just Before the Election?

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Word on the street is that Barack Obama is secretly scheduled to do SNL on November 1, the last weekend before the election.

Lorne Michaels recently contributed $4600 to Barack Obama’s campaign, and NBC CEO Jeffrey Immelt contributed $10,000 to Joe Biden’s Delaware Democratic State Committee.

Hm.

Colin Powell endorses Barack Obama

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Republican and former US Secretary of State under President George W. Bush has endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.  In a nutshell, he thinks John McCain is a bit unsure how to handle some challenges and Sarah Palin isn’t ready to be president.  The full clip of Powell as he appeared on Meet the Press this morning.  Thoughts?

Well, That Didn’t Take Long

A montage of John McCain’s eye rolls and other facial twitches from the debate.

Is it possible this guy has mild Tourette Syndrome? I’m serious here.

What I’m kind of disappointed about is that this video does not include the clip of John McCain laughing so hard he snorts a little. It was somewhere toward the end of the debate but I don’t know where. Does anybody know where I can find a clip of that shit? It was actually kind of endearing, because my little sister totally does that all the time. She’ll be laughing really hard and then she’ll just snort, like, really really loudly, and it’s about the cutest thing in the world. And I can say that without fear of repercussions, because she is currently conducting a bunch of fancy scientist experiments in a sea-faring vessel and doesn’t have access to the outside world. Which is good for her because she doesn’t have to hear about how our economy’s collapsing but bad for her because I can write about her laugh-snorts and know she won’t read it.

Hollywood ::Hearts:: Obama

Make sure to stay tuned for Blake Lively’s bit at the end. It’s my fave.

Diddy’s Vlogging Again!

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Here’s his thoughts on McCain’s use of the term “that one” during the debates last night. Between “that one” and “my friends,” all anyone can seem to talk about today is John McCain’s lingual pecadillos.

One of my friends changed her status message this morning to “THAT ONE ‘08″ and I thought that was kind of a riot.

Barack Obama Locks Down the Smoker Vote

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Okay, my days of being politically undecided are over.

I’m voting for Barack Obama, who admits, in an upcoming issue of Men’s Health magazine, that he’s been smoking cigarettes on the campaign trail.

“There have been a couple of times during the campaign when I fell off the wagon and bummed one, and I had to kick it again,” he says. “But I figure, seeing as I’m running for president, I need to cut myself a little slack.”

I love it! A Presidential candidate ADMITTING to SMOKING CIGARETTES!!

And then he offers advice for folks trying to quit smoking: Eliminate “certain key connections – that first cigarette in the morning, or after a meal, or with a drink,” he says, speaking from personal experience.

Oh, Barack Obama. You truly are a candidate I can relate to.
