Howard K. Stern and doctors  Khristine Eroshevich, Sandeep Kapoor will be going to trial for a long list of felonies relating to the death of Anna Nicole Smith. The doctors are accused of supplying Stern with the drugs he needed to keep Anna Nicole in the haze that she was in up until the time that she eventually overdosed.

Stern alone is responsible for over 11 felony accounts, including giving prescription drugs to an addict, acquiring those drugs illegally and fraud. Kapoor is also screwed. During the previous investigation, the following passage was found in his journal, “I was making out with Anna, my patient, blurring the lines … I gave her methadone, Valium. Can she ruin me?”

The death of Anna Nicole has always stood out to me as incredibly sad because it was clear that in her messed up state, Anna had been allowing a lot of people to take advantage of her for a long time. Stern, who many saw on Anna Nicole’s E! reality show had been with her for a long time and even when she was top dog in the relationship, he often seemed both manipulative and emotionally abusive toward her. Their relationship was never appropriate, and when he saw that he could possibly gain control of her estate if she was dead, well, it wouldn’t surprise me if he turns up to be guilty on most of those charges.

Aw, shit guys!  A new story has surfaced about Anna Nicole Smith — will they ever stop surfacing? — and it’s not good.  According to an old boyfriend, the bombshell asked him to shoot and kill her ex-husband’s son back in 2000.  Take it with a grain of salt since this story cropped up while he was in jail after being convicted for threatening Anna, but …

Just-released FBI documents reveal that the eccentric star was examined in 2000 and 2001 in a murder-for-hire scheme.  The alleged target was Pierce Marshall, the son of Anna Nicole’s much-older oil-tycoon husband Howard Marshall.

At the time of the murder investigation, Anna Nicole was embroiled in a bitter legal battle with Pierce for his late father’s $400 million estate.

Anna Nicole was questioned by agents about the murder plot on July 3, 2000, and according to the documents, “Smith began crying and denied ever making such plans.”

The FBI documents say a revolver and 3.5-inch stainless steel knife were confiscated from Anna Nicole’s home, along with a black and orange hat described as a “Dr. Seuss” hat.  The three items were returned to Anna Nicole seven months later.

Anna Nicole’s sister Donna Hogan tells INSIDE EDITION, though she loves her late sister, the claims of a murder plot “wouldn’t shock or surprise” her.

Other sources close to Anna Nicole tell INSIDE EDITION the whole story came from her ex-boyfriend Mark Hatten.  In 2003, while serving time in prison for making criminal threats against Anna Nicole, Hatten told INSIDE EDITION,

“She wanted me to take care of it for her…If I wasn’t going to do it personally, to get a contract going to kill Pierce Marshall.”

“So Anna Nicole asked you to kill the son of her ex-husband?”

“Absolutely, numerous times,” he said.  “She’d get jacked up on pain pills and then this would come out and she’d start saying Mark you gotta kill him, I’m Anna Nicole I can’t do it, you gotta take care of this for me.  I’ll do anything for you, we’ll be set.’ “

Listen, I have no idea if this is true or not, especially since both of the involved parties, Smith and Pierce who died in 2006, aren’t here to confirm or deny.  What I’d really like to know is what was the significance of the Dr. Suess hat?  I would kill you here or there, I would kill you in bad head wear.

Now that the criminal trial against Anna Nicole Smith’s doctors is moving forward, more details are coming out about Anna, her drug use and her inappropriate relationships with her medical caretakers.

Papers filed by the State of California claim that Anna’s psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich and internist Sandeep Kapoor both had inappropriate sexual contact with their patient.  Authorities found pictures of Anna and Khristine naked, embracing each other in a bathtub as well as video of Anna with Kapoor.  Who takes a bubble bath with their doctor?  Unless it’s Patrick Dempsey, of course.

According to the documents, the two doctors prescribed so many medications, and such a dangerous combination of meds, that several pharmacies would not fill the prescriptions.  One pharmacist told Smith that the drugs Kapoor prescribed to help Anna deal with the death of her son — “two sedatives, 300 tablets of methadone, a muscle relaxer, an anti-inflammatory drug and 4 bottles of a painkiller” — was “pharmaceutical suicide”.

In so many ways, it seems like Anna Nicole and Michael Jackson had so much more in common than wearing too much makeup.  Addicts are so vulnerable and sadly, they both found themselves in the clutches of “doctors” that were willing to prey upon that.

And the saga continues!

Anna Nicole Smith’s longtime partner and attorney Howard K. Stern and two doctors were charged Thursday with conspiring to furnish drugs before her death in 2007, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. …

At the time of her death several prescription medications — both in Smith’s name and that of her partner and lawyer, Stern — were found in the room.

Officials said prescription and over-the-counter drugs were found in Smith’s system, including three antidepressants or antianxiety drugs. Also found in toxicology testing was human growth hormone and chloral hydrate, a sleep medication, officials said.

Stern, 40, and doctors Sandeep Kapoor, 40, and Khristine Eroshevich, 61, were each charged with eight felonies, including conspiring to furnish controlled substances, unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance and obtaining fraudulent prescriptions between June 2004 and January 2007 — only weeks before the playmate’s death.

Kapoor and Eroshevich were each also charged with obtaining a prescription for opiates by “fraud, deceit or misrepresentation.” Each were also charged with one count of obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address, according to the DA’s office.

All three were charged with one count of “prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict.”

Hells yeah! It’s about time these people are held responsible. Anna Nicole was making horrible, fatal choices, but these people, particularly the doctors, were breaking the law in order to enable her. I certainly hope they make an example of this. It’s the same situation with Heath Ledger — who the hell was prescribing him all these narcotics, one on top of another? It happens day after day in this country, doctors over-prescribing narcotics for people who they must have figured out are addicts. Especially rich and famous people.

As Gawker points out, though, this might be about more than just doing the right thing. The California Attorney General, Jerry Brown, is pressing the case … and he’s also planning to run for governor. Sigh. Whatever it takes, guys.

Howard and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor were released Thursday night after each posted $20,000 bond.

Here’s some interesting footage that recently surfaced of John McCain meeting Anna Nicole Smith backstage at an event several years ago. McCain is very sweet to Anna, and even references an episode of her show. What breaks my heart here is the look back at Anna’s television show. My God, why didn’t someone do something back then? I guess there’s not much that could have been done, but still. The writing was on the wall. Poor Anna, and poor Daniel.

 

It’s official.  You need to think of something else to get Gamma for the holidays because the Anna Nicole Smith breast surgery video is not going to be available for gift giving.

This legal case has been going on since July 2007.  How does it take over a year to determine that an unconcious, naked woman isn’t consenting to being videotaped?  And it wasn’t like this was some sort of instructional how-to for med students.

Or, you know, a cold, grossly exploitative book with a title to match. Anna Nicole Smith’s sister, Donna Hogan, revealed her new book, titled — I am dead fucking serious here — Train Wreck: The Life and Death of Anna Nicole Smith in New York City on Tuesday. Oh. My. God. I don’t know what is more nauseating here, Donna: the fact that you have compared the life and death of your sister to a train wreck, or the fact that you did so two months after her death. I don’t know how long it takes to write and publish a book like this, but I’m sure it takes more than a couple weeks, meaning that this bitch has been planning this shit since before her sister’s body was buried. I’d expect this from some random journalist hack who’d covered her life and death, but from her sister? Jesus. No wonder that woman was willing to do anything to get out of Mexia.

After spending almost two hours in a Bahamian courtroom sans cameras, Larry Birkhead emerged victorious on Tuesday afternoon, as a doctor told the judge that the DNA tests revealed that he was the father of Anna Nicole’s baby, Dannielynn, with “99.9999% certainty.”

When asked about the paternity results, Howard K. Stern, who is currently listed on the birth certificate as Dannielynn’s father, stayed true to his word. “I am obviously very disappointed … I am not going to fight Larry Birkhead for custody. I will do everything I can to make sure he gets sole custody.” Stern and Birkhead hugged after leaving the courtroom, and Stern invited Birkhead to his house, where Dannielynn currently resides, to spend as much time with the baby as he wants.

The only reason Birkhead would not get custody at this point is Anna’s mother, Virgie Arthur, who had no role in this child’s life before Anna’s death, because Anna hated her. I don’t know much about family law, but I have no idea how this kid could possibly go to Arthur when there’s a healthy adult parent who wants her. Arthur’s custody case is expected to be heard on Friday in the same Bahamian court.

The race has begun for ownership of the Anna Nicole Smith diaries. The floor auction will take place April 14-15 in Dallas, TX, but the online auction has already begun. For sale are two diaries were written by Anna between 1992 and 1994. Smith divorced her first husband (and Daniel’s father) in February 1993, and married J. Howard Marshall in June of 1994.

It’s pretty heartbreaking to read these diaries and remember that Smith was not always the larger-than-life caricature of herself that we all remember. “Someone ran over my cat yesterday I was real sad,” she writes in 1992. “Clay came over last nite to give me some sleeping pills… I need to diet Going to try out for a movie part. Hope I get it. I could be a great actress… Everybody went crazy when I went on stage It felt so good… Paul Marciana [Guess co-chairman] sent me a package!! He’s comming to meet me on Sun. Cant wait!!…Please God let him love me!!…This could be it.” The diaries are filled with smiley faces and angry faces, depending on Smith’s mood.

She also discusses her love of her second husband, billionaire J. Howard Marshall. In 1994, she writes “My husbands very sick and weak, Theres nothing I can do I want each hour to comfort him with medicines and prayers… When you touch him Im afraid he might break… Sometimes he tries to smile and give me such hope, he a fighter and I believe he can make it…If Jesus desides to take him I dont no what I’ll do. I love him so much… Sometimes I think of awlful things like hes going to die…I dont think I would be stable enough to go to his funeral if he died… I need some support and I have none… I can’t dare sleep cause he will pull out that breathing tube. No one else stays here but a few minutes. But im his wife and I want to be here… Ive cried so much I dont have any tears…”

There are additional mentions of the struggles with pills that eventually killed her. On June 13, 1992, she writes, “Hung over!! Feel like shit! Stayed home watched movie! Took a Zandrex!” I assume that here she either is referring to Xanax, the anti-anxiety drug, or Zantrex, the weight-loss drug. Probably Xanax.

Anna Nicole Died of an accidental overdose, no sign of foul play.

From CNN:

Broward County Medical Examiner Joshua Perper said Smith was taking nine different kinds of medication in the days before her death, including a sleeping aid.

He also said Methadone was not in her blood, suggesting no use at the time of death, but was in her body, suggesting usage at some point in the recent past.

Commentary: Nine prescription drugs seems like too many.

The Dr. on MSNBC said she should have been in the hospital (just in general) if she was on that many prescriptions. The news folks are now talking “criminal negligence” for not taking her to the hospital although that seems unlikely.
