Meghan McCain has the Twitterverse up in arms over a picture she posted last night of her cleavage.  Actually, I think she was just posing with a book and maybe, possible, sorta, kinda didn’t realize that people would only notice her tits and nothing else.

Last night, after being taken off-guard by the public reaction, McCain alluded to deleting her Twitter account — that is all the rage right now.  Today she Tweeted:  “I do want to apologize to anyone that was offended by my twitpic, I have clearly made a huge mistake and am sorry 2 those that are offended.”

Do we really live in a world where a liberal Republican can’t publish photos of her boobies without everyone having kittens?

I think the issue is the hypocrisy of the gun totting, family value and moral flag waving republicans who goes around to criticize others. You need to first establish the base line for conduct and principles. I agree, that letting your boobs oozing out of your bra to spill all over the camera for all others to enjoy and salivate upon is nothing wrong. So is having sex without marriage, or having sex education at school, or listenning to kids president talk to them on the school television. Or having oral sex with an intern even when you are a married president. But people scream about those any way to the point that they want to kill someone. These same people who is spilling their boobs all over the internet. These lady will be a family woman someday, have a moral no sex before marriage guy, wanting to have all the children they can conceive and have a dozen kids who just love to respect women and all lives, conception to death. How do you think this picture goes with their mom making all the men horny in the internet?

    • Some Dude says:

Obviously she meant to look sexy and show off her “goodies”. If you take ur eyes off her (awesome) set, u’ll see that she made her hair look sassy and sexy, following the facial expression…. she just thought that throwing a book in the pic could justify the exposure and people wouldnt be as upset… come on people; it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that out

      • LoveStruck says:

So, are you suggesting that our republican friends are trying to test how far they can go without becoming a democrat? :) Or is that they are testing the water to see how far they push the envelope without leaving the comfort of being religious right and moral high ground they think they are in (this photo proves otherwise though)?

        • Some Dude says:

Girls today all want to look sexy, whether your republican or democratic, or even whig(haha).
She had the attention when her dad was running for pres, but as the media around her died down, she decided to show herself off, for the attention….Shes super hot BTW. im proud of her and want to see more pics!

          • LoveStruck says:

True. But can you imagine if Chelsea Clinton did that, what the right media, politicians and righteous public would have done to her? She would be tripped to her skin. Earth would fall on ground and the dooms day would be predicted. Unless some one kills her to save us the sinners. We are sinners because we are letting her do what evil she is doing, and we are not doing our moral duty!! Go republicans.

          • k.w. kidd says:

hefner would agree, that what she really needs to do ASAP… is post more pics EVERYWHERE fine magazines are sold.com

          • ReplyToIgnorance says:

LoveStruck are you really that politically jaded or just ignorant. What if it was Chelsea Clinton? What about Sarah Palin’s daughter? Dick Cheney’s daughter. You’re beloved party thrives on tearing down the children of Republicans so please spare the “what if” drama. Republicans are allowed to be sexy just as Democrats are allowed to be religious. Get over it!

        • hermit1 says:

Another looney liberal(far left winger) babbling the party line without a thought of their own.
M.McCain is another no-talent embarassment riding her old man’s name. Like her old man, she actually is a left-wing faker, who lacks the integrity to join her own kind on the way-far-left.

          Cleavage is all she has.

Fox gave her a shot and she blew it, talking empty-headed nonsense.

        • Al says:

I am not sure where to start with you…

First off what the heck does Megan have to do with potlics?

She has never run for office, much less as a social conservative, niether has her father, yet you apperantly believe being a religous fundementalist is what all Republicans represent !

So tell me please when did John McCain stand up as a social conservative?

A little history to expose your ignorance and set you right..

When McCain returned from a Viet Nam PRISON camp back in the day the social conservatives and men like President Reagan did not agreee with him for divorcing his then wife to marry Megans mother Cindy, the woman you know as Mrs. McCain.

Also John McCain was behind McCain Feingold, McCain Kennedy and a whole host of other legislation that makes TRUE REPUBLICANS SICK !!

He is what we call a RINO or Republican in name only

Next up where do you people get this idea that if you are Christian conservative it means you think you are perfect ?

I am a very conservative person when it comes to public life, I go to church and yet in my private life I sin just as much as the next guy or gal.. In fact I am even a member of a local swingers club..

So get over it and see that is the progressive liberal fascists who think they are perfect !

Myself and Christians worldwide go to church because we know that we are not perfect!

This is how it works in America….. You put out a good image in public for the children and behind closed doors we are FREE TO DO AND WORSHIP WHATEVER WE WANT!

ADULTS UNDERSTAND THIS AND WHY IT’S NECESSARY !

It does not mean we are perfect it just means we want our children to be free to pick up their own sins not be indocrinated into ours…

Maybe someday you will join our ranks, grow up and get a clue!

          • LoveStruck says:

Well, so long you don’t tell me to swing, or say swinging is morally bad, and a swinger must be prosecuted, I am fine with it. Now that you know that its a sin, yet you do it and ask for God’s forgiveness, I hope that you also do not go and tell people that they cannot have abortion because its a sin. Its their choice to make, not yours. Otherwise, I will have to ask you to stop swinging and going to church. Makes sense?

          • LoveStruck says:

One more thing. Hope you are not suggesting that so long politicians PUT UP a good front and not get caught letting their winnie licked by interns, hire prostitutes using state money, go to Argentina to screw a latina, or just grab a man to screw in bathroom stalls. Then I have a problem. I would prefer a politician to be who they say they are. Oterwise, all the complaints you are raising against Obama is meaningless. Because, he is giving you back what you profess.

          • contrairhead says:

The problem I have with Chritians is that when they sin, as we all do, it’s OK because they can go to church and ask forgiveness so now everything is cool. It must have something to do with their ‘direct line to God’ since, of all the religions on Earth, theirs is the only one to proclaim that Jesus is the (only) son of God as the Bible says.

As for M. McClain, she’s no doubt riding on Dad’s coat tails and needs to add whatever assets she has available, not unlike GWB. Only her assets are far more evident than his are (or were).

          • KYLE says:

            RIGHT-ON, AL!!!!!!!!

          • Eric says:

Al, you made sense up until the swingers part and thereafter. I think the correct way to look at it is, try not to sin, when you do happen to do so, ask for forgiveness. Don’t just say, “Oh well, I’m a sinner, I might as well sin away.” The point is to try to do the best you can and even though you will fall, you get back up.

I see it as walking down a path riddled with stumps and stuff you can trip on. You try to avoid the things that will make you fall, you don’t say, “Here comes something to trip on so I’ll just avoid the struggle and fall anyway.” That is where your strength comes from. I hope everyone can understand this because it is very important. Also it has nothing to do with politics, it has to do with being human. Politics in general are to be approached with a healthy skepticism.
Just to let everyone know I am speaking from the perspective of someone who acknowledges the fact that I am not perfect, but at the same time I don’t go around flaunting it. On the path of life try to avoid falling down, but if you do, pick yourself up and keep going.

    • zimmy says:

Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life. Rather incoherent thoughts, even for a fifth grader.

    • ReplyToIgnorance says:

Ahhhhhhhhhhh another anatomically deprived lady with a keyboard. Jealousy is sooo ugly

    • ReplyToIgnorance says:

LoveStruck Just remember if we follow your way of thinking you would be considered a hypocrite if you own a gun, have any religion in your life or care enough about your country. Really?

      • LoveStruck says:

Well, to ReplyToIgnorance, what can I say? I don’t own a gun, never fired one either. Yes Republicans do have the right to be whatever. Ok, if I agree with your logic, lets tear each other apart and nothing is actually right or wrong. Whoever has the bigger mouth, more screamers, and more gun will win. Simple, isn’t it? When I let my winnie licked at white house, you scream. And when you let your daughter shagged, or you just run to Argentina to shag another women leaving your wife home, I scream. How is that? And we both scream that our moral value is down the drain, we need to preserve our families, and religion we would like to die for. Got that? Feels good isn’t it?

      • LoveStruck says:

Just to add a bit more, even if Chelsea Clinton did whatever, her dad or the democrats did not go around and scream family values, religion and all that garbage to other people. Reoublicans do yet, they love to be gay in airport stalls, screw non-spouses like minks, steal from the country they love and basically screw everyone. Bunch of hypocrites. If you are screwing, say that I love screwing and everyone should too. May be you want to check your knowledge level. Ignorance is a virtue that the Repiblicans thrive on. Remember, “he” did not even know that Africa was a continent, and “she” didn not even know what Bush Doctrine was, yet, they were the leaders of the free world. Leaders, my foot. Idiots more like it.

        • ReplyToIgnorance says:

LoveStruck It’s too funny what you choose to remember. (”he” didn’t know Africa was a continent) Now we have “The chosen one” leading us who referred to America as our “57″ states. In his defense, it was not a slip. He was referring to the 57 Islamic states. Maybe when he said kids with asthma should be treated with a breathalyzer, err a inhalator. Now do you agree these were ignorant statements like the ones you mentioned? We could do this every day and you are making my point for hypocrisy. You and thousands like you, Democrat AND Republican, jump at the 1st headline that puts the opposite party in a bad light. Speaking with such disgust while forgetting about someone from you’re party doing the exact same thing. I have never been one of those people but I feel the need to reply to such ignorance. People starving, no health care, unemployed and it takes a picture of a Republican showing cleavage to make your point on whats wrong with this country. Comical

          • LoveStruck says:

Hmmmm. Wow!!! So, you figured out that I am a democrat? I did not know that. But I know this much, I am not a gun totting republican. You are right though on many counts. I could agree with you if you just said that republicans have no right to scream about morality, family values or patriotism. Its not their trademark. Those belong to all Americans. I have a problem when they claim that they are the people defending and preserving those. More like milking those buzz words to screw the ignorant people of this country. Just to make it clear, I and many liberals I believe will have no trouble admitting the mistakes they make.

        • Al says:

It’s called putting a good image out for the children. Duh!

At least when Repubicans get caught they owe up to it !

They get fired or resign like a REAL MAN OR WOMAN ! Instead of this …

” I did not have sexual relations with that woman”

“I smoked but I did not inhale”

Adults know we are all sinners and we all make mistakes, this is the whole reason we pray and go to church….

Just beacuse we are not perfect does not mean we can not encourage moral behavior, it does not mean we are exempt from preaching the gospel, nor does it mean we should give up on trying to help our children become better people than we are !

Get a clue and stop the mud slinging..

The fact is the many in both parties have become morally devoid, selfish, opportunists who do not care what state they leave the country in as long as they enriched themslef and thier friends…

Georoge W had Haliburton and now Obama has General Electric the owners of Obama TV at MSNBC !

GE CEO Jeffery Immelt is in Obama whitehouse..

This I might point out is fascism at its finest when you own the Media like that and I would love to know how the hard partisan Repub hating Dem can explain that FACT away?

    • Vertebrae says:

Huh? First get a better that fifth grade grip on the language to articulate what you want to say, and then realize something is wrong both ethically and morally with this statement and the associated actions that they predilect. You said “…is nothing wrong. So is having sex without marriage, or having sex education at school, or listenning to kids president talk to them on the school television. Or having oral sex with an intern even when you are a married president.” You have listed several actions which are by large degrees much less acceptable than a display a cleavage by a large busted celeb. There is no comparison. Again, Huh?

      • LoveStruck says:

Sure. Here comes the Nobel Laureate in literature. “First get a better (what?) that (excuse me) fifth grade grip on the language to articulate what you want to say, and then realize something is wrong both ethically and morally with this statement and the associated actions that they predilect (wow).” Sure, you can teach English to people in Bhutan, or in Wuhan, China. I can see your level of education through your words, Vertebrae. You sure have a spine. I was not writing a literary piece. Agreed, that I could have written better. But, should you focus on the message than the words, and my style? Thats what weak people do, criticize the hairdo in a debate about world economy. Brilliant. What can yoi expect from ignorant Americans.

My question is simply, what was she thinking? This stuff comes back to bite you in the rear at some later time. Meghan obviously doesn’t have a problem showing her boobies in public and must be trying to get more horney males to join the Republican Party! Is this the Republican’s 2009 recruitment poster or what?

  3. noneya says:

all this over nothing. most of the same republicians are closet homosexuals anyway. preaching family values and then sexing up male interns in bathroom stalls. women have every right to be proud of their body parts. when did we become overly PC. its a womans world and we just live in it. equal rights for all not just men that do stupid stuff all the time.it was probally some guy that got upset or some small breasted woman who is just jealous. show’em if ya got’em is what i say.

  12. Charles says:

She should not have done it.
I am quite sure that she really regrets doing it.
But let’s face, most Democrats are quite ugly.
Just look at the prune Nancy Polesi.
When you talk about a whore, she and Diane Fienstein really fit the bill. In all aspects.
As for the mess we are in, we can thank the Clintons for that in forcing banks to loan people money to purchase a home who never had any real chance to pay any of this back.
The Liberals are also responsible for 9/11/01.
I am quite interested in hearing the moran Liberals bark back.
Along with that fag Barney Frank, The one who told people how good condition the banks are in. Just six months before the floor fell in. He also along with Chris Dodge who forced banks to lend to money to people that really are deadbeats.

    • LoveStruck says:

Talk about ignorance and uneducated, yes thy name is Republicans. Look at the level of education of the republicans. My republican friend Charles cannot even spell names, words or even know the names. I am sure like most idiot republicans, who are TV experts, don’t know what they talk about. I agree, big mouth they have. Rush, Anne, Sarah, come to mind. If you listen to them or read (I never do) what they write, all you find is ignorance of the first kind oozing out. But unlike Nancy and Diane, Meghan is asking for it. You know, what you are holding so tightly under your pants. Who is the whore you think?

      • ReplyToIgnorance says:

Well, it sounds like your friend has a literacy problem and how nice to have his friend show compassion by calling him an idiot Republican. Yet, you can put a sentence together and I feel he may be the smart one. Okay, once again your “quick to bash anything Republican” is entertaining to me because I would never rip someone apart when I know that the people I support have done the exact same thing. The name for that is “hypocrite”. Rush, Anne, Sarah spilling lies and all you find is ignorance of the first kind oozing out? Yet no mention of Nancy and her Bill Clitonesque “We were not! I repeat not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used.” Then, the Attorney General released the intelligence memo showing she was briefed and on board” No mention of Diane and her “90% of farmwork is done by illegals because Americans wont do it. She was only off around 70 % so we will let that slide. No mention of Charlie and his tax lies, ethics, lies? I won’t even start on our President. These are not TV/Radio hosts. These people are in HIGH POWER GOVERNMENT and you support them. Oh wait, I align with more views to the right so I’m an idiot. Disregard this.

        • LoveStruck says:

Yes, in my eyes only one republican , or right winger, is respectable. Ed Rollins on CNN. This guy has class, a sense of logic, and a purpose. The rest so far are idiots. People who are right wingers are in general from villages like West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama and so on. They tend to have very low education, no exposure to the rest of the world, never been outside the country, some times their state (Bush and Palin comes to mind), and in general gun totting and racist. Do some better people join that party? Sure. Money and grid is their motivation. And they do well exploiting those idiots who support such ideologies. If you look at the democratic states, what do you see? More industrialized, educated people, high tech companies, immigrants, and so on. What does it tell you? Sorry, I forgot. You have sixth grade education and you are blind as all other right wingers. You just want to see and know what you want to see and know. I know I am wasting my time. But, hey, I had nothing else to do to entertain myself.

          • ReplyToIgnorance says:

Well, I have to applaud you for getting a few lines in before saying “gun totting”. That is usually your starting sentence. (I believe its gun toting) Should I start off with “You baby killers”? Naaaa, I see the ignorance in that comment.. Anyway..So. do you think if the 2nd amendment was ovrerturned that gun violence would go away? You do know that nearly all gun violence crimes are committed by people illegally carrying a firearm right? But I’m guessing you think these people will follow the law if it is reversed. You’re comments constantly bashing, calling people in WV,MS,AL rednecks, uneducated, totally segregating anyone in that category, regardless having never met them. It seems you may put them in “They all look alike” category. That makes YOU a racist. Have you noticed that noone has defended any of your posts? Thats probably because this site is nothing but village rednecks right? Spin it however to make you feel good about yourself but one day you will realize. Until then keep posting. It’s very entertaining. Take some of your own advice. Change the channel to something other than CNN. You may learn something

        • LoveStruck says:

But, to your point. I never said that people like Nancy Pelosi and other are in general better. What I am objecting to is this. Republicans, Newt for example, criticize Bill Clinton for getting his dick licked by an intern, yet at the same time he was having an affair. Wasted time and tax money. Politically, they are all spineless, especially the democrats. I don’t have any faith on both parties. Look at the spinless house, senate and the president. They cannot even pass a bill even though they control everything. If it was Bush, he would have done it in 7 days. Whether it would be the right thing to do, thats a different matter. Iraq and Afghanistan come to mind. But he did have guts. I salute him for one thing. He is an idiot but he never tries to hide it. He has a position and he does it. If you don’t like it, so be it. I was told by my teachers in “fifth grade” that you cannot please everyone. Only charcterless people can please everyone.

One thing for sure. No amount of mud slinging will change what is happening. “You did that” is the motto, and never an evaluation of “what I did”. So, go ahead and bash Charlie, Pelosi, Bill, and let left wingers bash Palin, Bush, and all others. Reminds me of Tom and Jerry. Nice cartoon. I am sure you understood my 5th grade rambling, right? Sixth grader?

        • LoveStruck says:

And to show what disgusts me, read this quote from your leader Newt Gingrich on Bill Clinton’s impeachment. If you google “Newt Gingrich Affair”, it will be the first link on FoxNews. It reads like this.

          Quote

“The honest answer is yes,” Gingrich, a potential 2008 Republican presidential candidate, said in an interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson to be aired Friday, according to a transcript provided to The Associated Press. “There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There’s certainly times when I’ve fallen short of God’s standards.”

Gingrich argued in the interview, however, that he should not be viewed as a hypocrite for pursuing Clinton’s infidelity.

“The president of the United States got in trouble for committing a felony in front of a sitting federal judge,” the former Georgia congressman said of Clinton’s 1998 House impeachment on perjury and obstruction of justice charges. “I drew a line in my mind that said, ‘Even though I run the risk of being deeply embarrassed, and even though at a purely personal level I am not rendering judgment on another human being, as a leader of the government trying to uphold the rule of law, I have no choice except to move forward and say that you cannot accept … perjury in your highest officials.”

          End Quote

Bunch of morons and idiots, if you ask me. Like Al said above. “I will screw your wife and let you screw mine. Then I will go to church and ask for God’s forgiveness. And then I will go criticize you for screwing an intern at the white house.” Do you see? sixth grader? What I mean?

          • ReplyToIgnorance says:

Yes I see exactly what you mean and as a “sixth grader” I will assume you are a 3rd grader because you have yet to see why I have responded to all of your posts. Because in this thread, YOU are the one bashing someone for something that your aligning party is guilty of. You are the 1 screwing someone’s wife and then bashing someone for doing the same thing. I have never defended a Republican who has done something wrong. More importantly. I do not hold everyone in a political affiliation accountable for a mistake made by 1 person. Something you seem to do very well. A republican cheats on his wife and all of the sudden its “Look at you Republicans. You are all hypocrites!” Ummmmm, I’m pretty sure I didn’t cheat on his wife. See the big picture friend. There is right and wrong on both sides of the fence. Maybe, stop and think before you throw the rock.

The “holier than thou” people in this country need to learn to calm down and realize that when you mature you eventually don’t give a rip about other’s people’s sex lives. Let it go! Go have some fun for yourself! xo

    • LoveStruck says:

Try making this understand by the republicans. I stopped listenning to ALL republicans since Regan. Bunch of low caliber idiots. You don’t have to go far to realize that they are so. Then we deserve it, and no one to blame for. But until them, I can love to hate Bill O’Riely, Anne Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Robert Novak, and countless other rednecks.

No Lobbyists.. He broke that one before he even took the oath!

“Trasparancey … Well that too was throw out the window before he even took office as Obama still refuses to let us see ANY of his college records!

“I am gonna rebuild the middle class”.. So you rebuild the middle class by taxing the heck out the so called “Cadillac Plans” which offer top notch health insurance to such filthy rich people as teachers, fire fighters and auto workers?

Do I even need to go on?

You want to talk about a hypocrit, in just about 9 months Obama has made himself the biggest hypocrit in American history!

One last question, what happend to all the peace signs that were on cars for Obama?

I mean he was supposed to end all war and conflict !

Yet within a week he had death squads of predator drones bombing Pakistan and KILLING INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN !

Al, I don’t think I disagree with you. By the way, I am not a democrat. But DO dislike republicans, most of them anyway. Its not because what they are, its because what they do and preach. As for all that you said above, I agree. But if I have to defend Obama, I would just say that its easy said than done. Its the overall US psychie and politics that dictate what the next president would do. We are in this mess for all we did for the last century or two. Not because of last nine months, if you must know.

        • some guy says:

          Lovestruck,

Good. I hate both political parties as well, though I tend to align with the right wing at the national level, as I am a strict constitutionalist.

Have a debate point I’d like your RATIONAL thought on: in context, the 2nd amendment right to bear arms was a result of the English attempt to remove the ability of the Colonies to challenge British rule by removing their weapons. It follows, then, that the second amendment was put in place to ensure the citisens would always be able to rise up and overthrow the national government, should it become irresponsive to the people. I doubt handguns could have any effectiveness in challenging the government, but in context, how can you defend the limitations on assault weapons, which have effectively removed the people’s ability to challenge the national government? How can you not consider this an affront to the second amendment? I recognize the “columbine shootings” argument in terms of risk to the people, but that really doesn’t have much place in a discussion of the actual constitutionally of the measure. Looking forward to your response.

          • LoveStruck says:

Thanks, for being RATIONAL :) Ok, first of all, I would admit that I don’t know the history of second ammendment. But that does not take away my right to THOUGHTFUL comments and opinion. After all, its my right under first ammendment. Right?

Now, we all must agree that society is a dynamic entity that evolves over time. Even if the second ammendment affords you to bear arms to overthrow government, may be its time to change that view and the need? We do have democratic election (which republicans seem to love a lot, to me its a joke) through which we can change government. Why need arms? But if you believe that constitution is what it is and it cannot change, would you agree that before the US constitution came to existence, there was the Church that ruled, and that law came “directly” from God (another love affair republicans have). So, if we agree to your logic, wouldn’t you agree that we must have stuck with the Churches and not create the US constitution?

The point I would make is that Church, constitution or cult practices, does not matter what it is – it must recognize the changing needs of people, the time and our needs. For us to be able to function as a society, we must re-evaluate our positions and laws all the time that we agree should govern our conduct as a social being. Otherwise, we will be always stuck in one position – like killing our scientists for saying earth goes around the sun, and many more things that we take for granted today, including US constitution.

Now, my personal opinion is that except for people in lawless areas, we do not need arms at all. But that assumes that we have a good government that protects us. We do claim that US is the best country in the world, don’t we? In terms of economy – we always scream that alliens come to our country and we should hang them, in terms of rule of law – and cite all the other countries as third world countries, in terms of education and smartness – we do believe that we are the smartest people on earth, and so much more. So, the question is, when most of the world do not need arms at the hands of civilians, why do we? Just north to our country, Canada does not need such a law. They are doing just fine. Why can’t we?

I would suggest that we shape up – regardless of republicans or democrats. Be the one what we claim to be. Honest, sensible and smart people – who can change the world for better. Stop killing, playing politics and lies. Start caring about our people, our planet and this universe. Chances are high that we are destroying it for ever, and doing that FAST.

          • some guy says:

Roger, society does change. The framers put the ability to change the constitution into the constitution, deliberately, to make it a living document. And we’ve amended it. We have not amended the 2nd amendment right, that I know of. So, if it hasn’t been amended, the question is, have we violated the constitional right to bear arms? I would argue yes.

This is a singular point, and both parties have violated the constitution repeatedly, in my opinion, but I would like to stick to this point if possible to resolution before abandoning it to other topics.

We are NOT the smartest, most civilized, or most democratic nation on the planet, though if you put all three aspects together, we come close.

As for the need for arms, examine the history of the communist revolution in China, which occured originally through democratic means. Or the rise of Hitler, also through democratic means in a “civil” society.

But let’s finish the constitutionality of our current gun laws before we move on to whether the amendment, as written, is rational in modern society.

Your opinion: does it, or does it not, meet with the second amendment right and purpose?

          • some guy says:

Sorry, I asked to stick to the point, then violated my request myself in two full paragraphs. I will flagulate myself later this evening for that.

        • some guy says:

yeah, I misspelled citisen. I used to be a good speller, ’til spellcheck ruined me. One more reason to curse Bill Gates.

          • LoveStruck says:

To answer your question, may be. But it depends purely on the position you take. If I am not wrong, you are a purist, who believes that what is written, it is what it is. Granted.

But there is another side to the constitution. Constitution, or the law, are written by a group of people. These laws are interpreted by courts, and they enforce those laws with the help of administrative authorities called law enforcement. More clearer those laws are, better the lower courts can function. If the legislature sees that those interpretations are not in line with the intended meanings of the legislature, they can go back and correct that from the house/senate.

But the courts have the right to interpret the way they see fit without going against the intent of the law. Thats why, we have three levels of courts – trial court, appeals courts and supreme courts. Finally we have federal courts. You as a citizen, have no choice but to accept what a court system decides. But you do have the power to go back to your legislator to ask them to correct the court by making a new law and overturn the rulling. Until then, what is ruled is the law. You can ofcourse go to court to ask the “authority” to comply with the constitution. If the court agrees with you, they will bring the authority in compliance with the constitution. I am sure you know all these exercises.

Now back to your 2nd ammendment. You have two recourses. First, ask your legislature to clarify the law and make it clear. If you sit where you are and keep saying the way it is enough and you must have the right to bear arms, you are probably on te losing side. NJ today said you cannot bear arms, actually the state can decide if you can bear arms. About nine states have that rule. You cannot jjst claim that the courts are idiots and they do not know the constituion. Actually they know an live by it. If you do not have that faith, you should not belong in this system. Having said that, do I think the courts sometimes stink? You bet. I know it personally. And I can give you incidents where they violated the constitution million times over, against each other, and with a blind eye to the law and any proper thoughts.

The second choice you have is that you go court. Ask for enforcement of the 2nd ammendment. If you have an argument, they will hear it. As you said, its not perfect, but we do have a pretty good country and a system. So, take advantage of it. The system, and the jury, will give you the right verdict. If you are confident in your cause, why not take this route. Its more surer than the route in the legislature, trust me.

But, here is what I would predict. I think gun loving people are afraid that they will lose either way. So they keep screaming the obvious – govt is violating the 2nd ammendment. But not taking, or accepting one or the other routes to ensure that what they think must stick.

I know that there have been some court battles. But nothing is conclusive. It will get resolved, sooner or later. Thats the way it is in a democratic and law abiding society.

By the way, what is the difference between people who believe they have the right to overthrow a govt they don’t like using arms, and the terrorists who come to this land to destroy us or our govt? Is it that Americans have a constitutional right to do so, according to 2nd ammendment supporters, and the terrorists are foreigners? Then how about Timothy McVey and the David Koresh? Weren’t they doing the same thing? Trying to do what 2nd ammendment afforded them?

          • some guy says:

I’m familiar with the system. That’s what’s got me so perturbed on this point. The Constitution has a method for change incorporated into it. It’s been exercised 27 times. Despite this facility to be a living document that can adapt to the times and changes, many parties make, apply, and enforce measures that are clearly not in line with it, because if they tried to change the actual document, they’d fail. It’s easier just to ignore it, by consent of enough to get away with it, which is usually no where enough to make the majority it would take to actual change it. Which is how we see the rights and privileges guaranteed to us by the Constitution eroded by our own passive consent. It’s disgusting, really. If a business tried to do the same with a contract, you’d sue the pants off them and win. But we let the government get away with it.

I’m aware of the dangers posed by Koresh and McVey. (By the way, believe McVey was a bomb, not a gun.) Using a minority event to remove the rights of the majority is a standard, emotional, fear rather than fact driven ploy. Like the supposed danger of flying right after 9/11. It’s how the “bad guys” win, by making you react emotionally, rather than with your head.

The balance is rather simple, really. Are a couple of Koresh types in a couple of decades (your forgot Ruby Ridge, much more applicable to this arguement) worth maintaining a government that is beholden to the people, not the military or paramilitary police, for its people?

This is a side argument again, and not the core argument about the constitutionality of banning weapons that are necessary to be consistent with the intent of the original framers of the Constitution.

AND I BET YOU VOTED FOR THIS GUY,, DIDN’T YOU.. I WOULD SAY OPEN YOUR EYES BEFORE ITS TO LATE, BUT IT’S TO LATE!!!!!!!!!! AND ITS ALL THANKS TO SHEEPLE LIKE YOU!!!!!!!!!!

See? You are the bigot and a racist you deny to be. I am sure that you have no education and do not know anything about the country you say you love and history you claim you are proud of. Do you know who are considered a citizen of the USA, legally? Just because you are born here, does not mean you are any more american than he is. By the way, did you know that you are foreigner in this country and an invader? You (or your ancestors) came to this country, took it from the Native Indians, killed them by the millions and now you claim that it is your country. Do you know any of this history? Oh, by the way, you may also not know that your ancestors kept slaves and they are still considered US citizens like you are. Even when a foreign black men or a women father a child, or have a child and the partner is American, the child is American. As for muslim, what is wrong being a muslim? Is it because they don’t lay down for you to bull doze over? This is exactly the reasons they hate you and do whatever they can to harm you. Bigots like you destroy the image and stature we build with hard work. You have the same attitude you had with African Americans for centuries. Now you have it for Hispanics, Muslims, you name it. But you know what? The time is coming. You may not want it, but this country will be taken over by Hispanics, Asians and yes, possibly muslims. Keep doing what you are doing and they will give it to you in time. Its just a matter of time. An uneducated and dumb population like you cannot do anything. Trust me.

Well, sorry to disappoint you, you are the same type of fagets and uneducated/uncultured people who come and just attack people like people in republican party do. making up stories, and speak with such hate and disrespect for people, especially who are not white republicans. I am sure you come from or still are in remote redneck villages driving a huge american truck and think that you are the God chosen american patriot. You did not say anything a word of substance or logic. Get a life before you die with this kind of attitude.

Then, proceed to call someone a “faget”, “uneducated” from a redneck village.. IN THE SAME POST! Scroll up the post and see who is at the head of most of these hate and disrespectful comments. I hate to laugh at ignorance but you my friend are hilarious! By the way, in the Urban dictionary they say people who use the word “faget” are closet homosexuals in an attempt to smooth out the word ‘faggot’ and give it a softer french/italian/spanish sound. It’s okay, I still accept you brother.

ReplyToIgnorance, admitted that I am a third grader, and you are right that I am doing the same thing. I can see that you are attacking less me personally and at least trying to grow up and trying to have a substantive discussion. So let me address your point on gun violence.

No, I do not think taking away 2nd ammendment will stop crime. But it will stop easy access to guns. If you agree that NJ court two days ago did not violate the 2nd ammendment by saying that state has the right to check background, deny applicants to obtain a gun, then I have less problem. That ruling should be in the line of your claim that legal gun owners do not commit most gun crimes. If you look at most “civilized” countries, they have a stricter gun law and gun crime is lot lower there. Canada comes to mind.

If you ask my opinion about guns, I would say that you do not need assault weapon like AK-47 to protect yourself. There are studies that show there is a significant correlation between gun availability and access, and number of violent crimes. I have a right to a peacful life and a crime free life. By arguing that I have to protect your 2nd ammendment right, I have to sacrifice my safety, thats not acceptable. So, having the same democratic right as you do, I will do everything possible to get this law removed from the constitution. And if that means, calling Anne Coulter and the likes of her names, I will. Because thats the only language they understand. I am not a democrat or a republican. And I would appreciate it much if you refrained from making personal comments. That way I will not have to call you anything. I know you are not afraid of me. Neither am I. Obama may take the liar comment. I will not. I am not morally weak as most democrats are.

So, if you want to argue something of substance, I am all for it. We can agree to disagree.

    • ReplyToIgnorance says:

Finally a civil conversation with no knife throwing. This is what I was looking for and now I can actually agree with you on some points.

Yes, I believe the state has the right to check backgrounds and deny applications. In fact, I encourage it. I also agree that assault weapons should be banned

I disagree that a ban on firearms would lower crime rate. I think crime would increase. I know your example with Canada but I feel the US is a totally dfferent animal. Plus, I think criminals think its too damn cold in Canada : ). The vast majority of gun crimes come from unregistered firearms accessed through illegal channels. Banning firearms will not close these channels. The same as pot and other illegal drugs. In fact, it will cause an increase in underground access. So now criminals will have more choices to access their weapons. Once they have their weapons its a joy ride down any street of their choice without a care in the world of who or what house or business to rob because they are the only ones carrying a firearm.

Yes, you have the right to live in peace and if someone breaks into your house (God forbid)you can take your chances on dialing 911 and hope the police arrive in time, I on the other hand have the right to defend my family and home. I also feel that many criminals are deterred from busting into a property because we have a right to bear arms. Take that away and its a kid in a candy store

      • LoveStruck says:

Well, thanks. But if I remember correctly, you started the personal attack first citing my poor sentence structure, while you made serious mistakes yourself. :) As I said, I don’t care much when I write in such forums. Anyway.

Lets agree to disagree on the gun issue. I disagree that guns cannot be controlled in the underground. In that I have the only choice and to try to repeal 2nd ammendment. Hopefully it will happen in one form or another.

But I see more to this politics of gun and other things. I see a morally bankrupt system, and I see it more on the side of republicans. It angers me more because I see them as hypocrites. They seem to claim that they are morally at a higher ground, God fearing, and what not. It boils my blood to see these people even talk. I never defended democrats. But they go less about attacking people like the republicans do. Palling around with terrorists, he is a muslim, he is a foreigner, just a sample of the hate mongering of these people. You cannot find an equivalent of Anne Coulter, Rush Limbaugh or Bill O’Rielly in left media or the party. I wonder why. Don’t they have any guts, or they are more decent. I don’t know. But I think republicans take that as their weakness and use it effectively.

During the time of Bush, I could not believe that democrats did not have the guts to cut the funding for the war in Iraq. Why? Because republicans were saying it is a move against the military. I cannot believe that they fell for this. Why should it be against military. Its against the war. Bringing home the service personnel is not killing them. Most of all, why should we care about what army thinks? It is a democracy, run by people, not by military. Like it or not, they are there to serve the country and the civilian govt decides what is good for them. After all, it is a voluntary army. If they do not like it, they can always not go join the forces.

These are some of the things that I find hard to accept. I can go on. But, have better things to do.

        • ReplyToIgnorance says:

I think there was a misunderstanding if you thought I was attacking your sentence structure. If you were referring to my comment “Do you go back and read what you type” I was referring to alot of your contradicting points. If you were referring to me correcting totting to toting, I only metioned because it was confusing when I read it. I would want someone to do the same.

Yes we will agree to disagree on the 2nd amendment.

Since you have different views, I understand why you dislike Rush, Anne and O’Reilly although I see O’reilly giving it to alot of Republicans as well. You say there are no equivalants but that is in the eye of the beholder. I think Bill Maher, 4 of the 5 from the View , Joy (the worst) getting her own show on CNN, Al Sharpton push their agenda just as hard and have even a bigger platform to do so. I’m sure we will agree to disagree here as well
