TV’s Top Earning Women List Came Out Today And It is Really Depressing

Today Forbes released their list of the highest paid women in primetime and I’m sure that more than one of the names will completely shock you. Tyra Banks took first place with her America’s Next Top Model hosting gig (making over $30 million in a twelve month period), and was followed by the Snow Princess herself, Katherine Heigl, whose earnings will also shock you. The complete list is here:
- Tyra Banks: $30 million
- Katherine Heigl: $18 million
- Marg Helgenberger: $9.5 million
- Eva Longoria: $9 million
- Mariska Hargitay: $8.5 million
- Julia Louis-Dreyfus: $8 million
- Maura Tierney: $8 million
- Tina Fey: $7 million
- Marcia Cross: $6.2 million
- Jennifer Love Hewitt & Ellen Pompeo (tie): $6 million
For the most part these ranking make sense, except for Tina Fey’s #8 spot, as she also writes and produces her hit show 30 Rock. Also, Jennifer Love Hewitt can still rack in 6 million a season for a TV show? Who knew? Do people still care about her? I was unaware. I’m also a bit surprised that a Seinfeld alum like JLD isn’t worth more than Heigl, who beside being a complete brat on and off the set of Grey’s, only makes crappy romantic comedies these days.

Wow I am so broke compared to these people. Lol literally i make what they make in a week, if I’m lucky. Oh well I enjoy the simpler things in life that way. :)

It’s just women in primetime. I’m sure Martha, Ellen and Oprah would be topping the list if they included daytime TV.

I think Heigl’s number unfairly includes her movie pay. Ditto Tyra with her (day time) talk show and ANTM.

its her wax figure, but it does look much better than her.
It has to include movie earnings and endorsements because all of them are in a position to do these things. Heigl’s earning are hardly a surprise..her last 3 movies have done well and have grossed $500 million plus in total and none has cost much more than $30 million to make. No wonder she is bringing in the big bucks from the studios. None of the other women on the list are doing that. Tyra Bank was a surprise…she is just annoying.

the only reason she is on top is because she’s good at being “on top”.
I never really cared much for Jennifer love Hewitt she kind of dull but I just atarted watching her show Ghost Whisperer and I really like it. I should hav estarted watching it sooner.
I don’t feel too sorry for Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I am sure she will be alright financially, she is successful in her own right, but daddy is worth billions for his Dreyfus funds..
