Good morning, Wendie! Here’s video of Mischa Barton, moving in and out of a British accent as she moves in and out of consciousness during a recent interview at a Harrod’s opening.
Ummmm, maybe that psychiatric hold was about an identity crisis? Mischa can’t seem to figure out if she’s a washed-up American actress or a washed-up British hooker.

I actually feel SORRY FOR HER!!! she is lost and should go back to where she came from before acting and live quietly.

Drunk or high, Mischa was able to rattle off a ton of designer names. How many ANTM hamsters can do that sober? And she got in a plug for her handbag collection, including the website name, and her new TV show. So, pretty successful interview if you think about it.
As much as I hated watching that I do agree with you… on both parts of your post. Beet, c’mon now!
Was she not raised in the UK? I thought she came over to the US as a teenager to live on a perm. basis?
Thought the American accent was not her natural?

Yeah, I think she was born in the UK…has British parents or something. She’s always had an unusual way of speaking, very pronounced.
I mean she was clearly on something but like Kelly said, she was able to do the interview and answer all the questions asked of her legibly. I think it’s sad that she’s gotten to this point in life. She’s so young!
Even though I’m not a fan of hers I hope she gets help she needs and is able to get her act together.

The poor girl looks just terrible. What is with the makeup? And her hair! Ugh. I hope she writes a tell-all book so that we can find out what exactly she was taking. Not by reading the book, mind you, but reading excerpts on EB :)
yeah, she was born in england and came over at age 5 so it’s totally possible she naturally has a british accent. her mother’s irish and one of her sister’s is a lawyer in england.
Her father’s also British. She considers herself to be British and she only became a US citizen back in 2006. So I think it’s safe to say she’s British.
she needs to get some quell for that head lice problem……
