Farrah Fawcett has succumbed to her battle with cancer this morning at the age of 62.

Best known for her role as Jill Monroe on the 1976-77 debut season of Charlie’s Angels (she made a few guest appearances in seasons three and four), Fawcett also won critical acclaim for a television movie The Burning Bed as well as both a movie and stage performance in Extremeties.

Despite reports of an impending wedding, Fawcett never married actor Ryan O’Neal, but was involved with him for 29 years.

In addition to O’Neal, she is survived by their son Redmond and her father James William Fawcett.

I’ve only ever watched a few epps of Charlie’s Angels, and I didn’t really know very much about her. Still, I feel sad. She was just a NICE person– albeit a bit of a loony- who never hurt anybody.

  2. Rachel says:

That just sucks. At least she isn’t suffering anymore. Cancer is such a disgusting disease…

She may be gone, but her memory will live on through her hairstyle! It will make a comeback eventually.

Sorry to see you go, Farrah. The world was a better place because you were here.

It’s a shame the tribute to Farrah has to be right above that vial Rosie O’Donnell.

  10. Steph says:

    So sad. RIP Farrah.

Does anyone know if her dad was able to make it out in time? I know he was trying to. I cannot even imagine how horrible it would be to bury your child.

She showed incredible grace throughout her ordeal, and elevated herself from being the butt of many of joke to reminding us that she was someone who was much smarter than many people gave her credit for being.

    She was an American Icon.

12 million posters is a record that will never be broken. A lot of young men had her picture on their wall. Playboy layouts at ages 38 and 50 and both were the top selling issue of that decade. She will be missed. RIP Farrah.

  17. Jinxy says:

She was an amazing woman and fought so very hard to live. I feel terrible for her father, Farrah’s sister also died of cancer, so that man has to bury both of his children, he must be beyond bereft right now, they were so close – I can’t imagine his pain.

I knew there was never going to be a marriage to Ryan, she was truly her own person and I admired that about her. She will be missed.
