I’m confused. Why do you respect each and ever person who dies? Do you respect them for dying? Or do you respect who they were before they died? Does that mean you respect each and every person who is alive?

Totally agree, Alzaetia.

I actually *am* saddened about MJ’s death. I think he was a terribly unhappy person and was tormented for most of his life by personal demons.

I’m also disgusted by people completely glossing over what are, in my opinion, pretty believeable allegations of a sickening crime.

I took offense to Michelle’s term “quirk”. This is not about him wearing a sequinned glove, or being a plastic surgery addict. Those are quirks – eccentricities that hurt no one but himself. Child molestation is far, FAR beyond that level.

Michael Jackson was a tremendous talent and I am saddened that his many personal problems have overshadowed that talent for so many years. But it’s ridiculous to pretend that the last decade or so of his life didn’t happen. And it’s disrespectful to his *victims* to pretend otherwise.

The custom of not speaking ill of the dead comes from a fear that the dead will rise against you. I’m not afraid of that.
Every human being who is born will someday die. Not every human being who is born is perfect. Death does not bestow sainthood. It’s a common human experience.
To suggest that somebody wasn’t who they were is a lie.
The publicist who released the offending statement was speaking the truth as he knew it. The statement that he released was less than glowing, but not disrespectful.
I really don’t see the problem.

I agree with YOU Michelle. 100%! Creativity is a “rare and endangered” species these days. Some may find it hard to see “The forest for the trees”. I can see from what I’ve read that I know you understand. It seems like everyone is looking for somebody else to blame. Don’t let their insecurities about themselves and their lack of perspective get to you. Your time is worth more than that. Focus on the good things in life. Things that make you happy. “It’s not who you are; It’s what you’re doing with what you’ve got!”

he was a child molesterer , thats not a quirk thats a f**king travisty

yes while i admit he was a brilliant musician but it doesnt excuse the terrible things he did , if a non famous person who was a child molesterer died people would spit on thier grave
but just because he was a famous man that people once loved , its just a case of “oh those kids dont matter, michael jacksons dead boohoo”

god im just mourning the death of his music not him , at the end of the day his music still survives & thats what matters.

BTW, 10 were for exactly 10 million dollars each? Nice round figures there. I guess that was some sort of class action settlement?
