wendie, wow. just…wow. what an ignorant post about a woman who is dying of cancer. i agree with dpizzle’s post – seriously, where do you get off criticizing a cancer patient’s choice of care? that is fucked up.

I’m sorry, Wendie, but who are you to question someone’s motives relating to their cancer treatment choices??? Perhaps for Farrah, her hair made her feel alive. In the end, she had no choice but to take chemo that made her hair fall out. She showed her balding head. WTF more do you want?! I’m sorry, but this post really annoyed me more than any of your posts.

I did not watch the documentary on Friday, but I did want to share that Farrah’s doctor was interviewed on The Today Show last week and addressed the fact that she made chemo choices that would allow her to keep her hair. He wanted everyone to understand that this is VERY normal and routine. He pointed out that people who are battling cancer try to maintain some sense of normalcy and do not want to be victims. The act of loosing all one’s hair is totally NOT normal and makes people feel very victimized. Also, he stressed that in nearly every case, people sufferring from cancer choose to delay such drastic chemos until absolutely neccessary and is done with doctor’s total support.
Just thought I would share that.

I’ve always liked Farrah, she seems like a “real” person who never allowed the Hollywood scene to change who she was and still is. I lost my father to cancer and know all too well how difficult it is to get quality treatment.
