Celebs: They’re Just Like Us!

April 30th, 2009 by Wendie

They fall flat on their faces too!

Why, oh why do I find people falling on their faces to be one of the funniest things ever?  And why isn’t there video of Jennifer Garner wiping out as she went for a run?  If you’re really into gross stuff like pus, WireImage was kind enough to capture close-ups of the injuries.  Why?  I.  Have.  No.   Idea.

Garner appeared last night on Late Show with David Letterman and got some TLC from Dave, who isn’t sounding so hot himself.  She, in turn, gave him some tea and honey.

I’d like to apologize in advance for the Canada tourism advertisement CBS insists we must watch in the beginning.  It’s the goofiest ever and makes me feel embarrassed for the entire country.

uhh. I saw an ad about vitamin water.. I guess it’s a different ad every time or something..
Anyhow, apparently US tourism ads are cinematic masterpieces compared to Canadian ones. Who knew! Thanks for the info Wendie, I’m just about 100% sorry Beet hired you.

I saw an ad for CITI bank….how embarrassing??

  3. Canada says:

    Dear Wendie,

    I don’t see an ad for Canadian tourism… you’re a fucking retard.
I’m embarassed you’re allowed to breathe air.
I do however, see an ad with Bobby Flay squirting Hellman’s mayo on anything and everything he can get his hands on. Maybe if you’re a good girl he’ll squirt some up your ASS!

    Suck it Wendie… SUCK IT!

Mine was all about how to feed a family of 4 for $15 from Albertson’s. Good stuff. And lighten up on Wendie, people!!! What a snarkfest. Go have your coffee. And a valium.

  5. HappyGirrrl says:

Whoops. I didn’t mean to be anonymous. Guess I’d better have my coffee ;-)

    DONT PISS OFF THE CANADIANS….
If I remember correctly, Kelly did it back during a Natasha Richardson story and we almost beheaded her…

Wendie, I love you and you make me laugh EVERYDAY, so I’ll let this one slide….you only get one chance tho….no more digs on Canada…

    Re: pictures of injuries

I used to sit and look at the injuries in the back of my EMT textbook like it was a girly magazine. The picture of the avulsed penis was the best.

    • the pez says:

i do that too!!! my surg procedures books are my happy place! high five!

      • Kitty2000 says:

I used to look at the STD’s (hey, each to their own). The genital warts. *shudder* I could never eat cauliflower after that.

      • abq_emt says:

You know, I can 100% say nothing bothers me anymore.

10 minutes in the decomp room at the medical investigators office will do that to you.

        • the pez says:

hahah i second that notion! I work in a funeral home and had to go to the ME’s office to pick someone up and their cooler was broken. BROKEN!

          • abq_emt says:

            ZOMG

I live in Albuquerque, so we deal with a lot of desication due to the dry climate. I only worked with the medical investigators office during paramedic school, but I can imagine in any other climate it must be so much worse, especially in wetter/warmer areas.

How many people were on ice that day? And didn’t they have back up generators? That would be my first concern as a pathologist in a morgue..

Canada is way better than the U.S. anyways.

  10. Señor Loco says:

Ugh! I wonder if Jennifer Garner went and threw up after this bit of letting that filthy old man touch her like that. Letterman is such a notorious old lecher.

  11. dpizzle says:

That was cute! I got a little nauseated when he touched her raw scab (ew!), but it was sweet. Made me chuckle.

  12. theotherme says:

This is news? Garner is an asshole and who really cares if she falls flat on her ugly mug or gets run over by a bus. It is not going to change my life.

  13. anabelle says:

I don’t get why you people got so angry at Wendie, I don’t see anything wrong with what she said. I understood that the ad was embarrassing, meaning it was not good enough for the country that it was trying to portray or whatever, or maybe its just that I already had my coffee! :)

  14. Jessica says:

I didn’t even get an ad. It just went straight to the clip.

Also, I love Jennifer Garner. She’s so adorable and funny.

  15. yo says:

I saw an Applebee’s commercial. But now I must watch again and again until I see this video that makes me, as a Canadian, look goofy.

It can’t be any worse than watching Fox News.

    Have a good day.

  16. sf says:

I think Jen is so adorable and I’ve only heard super nice things about her.

  17. Melissa says:

Wendie I like you…but was the Canada diss really necessary?

    • JennB says:

She wasn’t dissing Canada…she was dissing the ad.

      • Melissa says:

on reading it again, i realize you are right! didn’t have my morning coffee haha… apologies to Wendie. you are still awesome and I still like you.

  18. Diana says:

that is one weird-ass scab on her knee…

  19. Avery says:

I seriously love everything about Jennifer Garner. So adorable.

  20. hoganbcmj says:

First off, J-Gar is awesome, loving her. So down to earth and gorgeous and real.

Second, I’m Canadian, and WTF? Wasn’t Wendie saying she was embarrassed FOR Canada? I didn’t see the ad when I hit play, but if it was lame, it was lame. I’m going to take her word for it and not take that personally. I’m sure there are plenty of awesome tourism ads for Canada out there; maybe this just wasn’t one of them. Sensitive much?

Also, Canada is cool. I don’t think anyone is implying it ain’t. :)
    Thanks for listening.
