as a mother, I would probably resent this comment- but as someone who is a “step-child”, i would love to hear something like that coming from a step parent. its such a strange relationship when you think about it
i’m also a step-child, i have both a step-mother and step-father. i yearned to hear words of acceptance like this from my step-parents growing up. i think they never said them because they didn’t want me to think they were trying to replace my real parents, but i always longed to know that they loved me like their own kids. just because you give birth to a baby doesn’t mean you’re the real parent. the real parent is the one who raises you and loves you unconditionally. both of my step-parents did just that. my mom and dad are still around, but i think of myself as having 4 “real” parents.
I’ve had three stepfathers, and none of them ever even tried to be my friend. I would have loved for at least one of them to pretend.
Oh no. I must side on team Gisele. i want things to go well for her so in my next life when i come back as her…things will go well for ME.
