Why Julia Has Commie Hair

Roberts on David Letterman, March 17th

Earlier in the week, Evil Beet posted some pics of Julia Roberts with what looked like strands of pinko hair peeking through her blonde layers. Sorry to disappoint those of you who thought it was a midlife crisis or a show of support for Breast Cancer Awareness month– which I could totally see some well-meaning but thoughtless celebrity doing. “Hey! Let’s all dye our hair pink in support of women with breast cancer… because they don’t have any! And pink is pretttttttty!” Instead of doing something really empathetic like getting massive hemhorrids or throwing up when you eat so much as two spoons full of chicken soup. There are celebrities that do that too, but I doubt it’s in support of breast cancer awareness.

Anyway, in her March 17th appearance on Late Night with David Letterman (see gallery), Julia confirmed that the pink strands were neither altruisitic nor a botched dye job; her daughter told her she should do it, so she did.

“Hazel thought I should,” a matter-of-fact Julia replied. “For someone who wants enthusiasm and support but perhaps less attention, I don’t think that having pink hair is the way to go…So I went for just a little bit.” While Hazel was pleased with the end result, her brother was even more enthusiastic! Reveals Julia,“Finn is crazy about it. He’ll stop people in the market. ‘Sir, sir. Look at my mommy’s hair!’”

Is there anything more adorable than a 4 year old boy named Phinnaeus using the word “sir?” I picture him wearing a three piece suit and doffing a hat to the passers by when he says it.

Good lord. I read this the other day and all I could think was, “She dyed her hair because her four-year-old TOLD her to.” Bleah-I’m not a Julia fan. Perhaps I’m biased but I just don’t let my pre-K kid call the shots.

hmm.. your posts seem a bit long.

Yes, but no grammatical errors! And, except for altruisitic and hemhorrids (which is actually sort of cute), no spelling errors either! Let’s face it, if the posts were too short, someone else would complain, so it’s always going to be something. At least it was funny. (I thought so anyway.)

I did notice one error – “First of all, being blonde when YOU’RE age is still young enough to be tabulated in months rather than years does not give you the ability to claim that you are naturally blonde when you’re in your twenties.” “You’re” instead of “your” does horrible things to my blood pressure. Jesus. I need a damn hobby. Seriously though – good job and welcome, Kelly!

Yup, that drives me nuts, too (along with unnecessary apostrophe’s–like that one). I just meant in THIS post. And now I’ll sign off from nerd-land.

Oh wow. I can’t believe I committed the dreaded you’re/your mistake. I’m always talking smack about bitches for doing that! You’d be surprised how many errors can creep in. I swear to god I proofread these. I also just noticed that I called it “Late Night with David Letterman.” It’s actually “The Late Show.” SHIT.

Kitty, I’m right with you! I get upset with myself for noticing every misspelled word and grammatical error but I can’t help it. The “your/you’re” REALLY bugs me. Also,”their/they’re” is another one. Sorry, can’t help it.

Can we have something other than HAIR stories?
    Please and Thanks.

Hahah i looove the long posts.
You should just put a thing on the bottom of each post that goes, “Long story short: —–” and sums it up in like a sentence. So that those who are too lazy to read or can’t deal with intellect, can just scroll to the bottom and be like “ah okay got it!’
You’re doing great. I do have to say though i desire more post frequency… but that’s only because i pathetically check about every half hour.

Alright… well now I can’t not like your hating. LOL. But then again, I really don’t have the right to say anything because I talk a lot of shit myself.
Do you think Lily Allen is pretty?

    • Wendie says:

Here’s the thing with Lily Allen-I really don’t have a huge opinion on her…plain Jane…but I’ve had several people on my blog tell me I look like her. Therefore, I guess I’m a plain Jane as well.

Oh, and to be clear, I don’t dislike Julia Roberts because of her forehead vein…she really can’t help that. I dislike her for being a homewrecker.

I would say the only celeb I have a true and irrational distaste for, with no supporting reasons, is my gal Mischa.

      xo

Kelly, I think you’re doing great. Your writing is very entertaining, and I don’t think anything has been too long, yet. There will be times, though. Hell, I ADORE Sasha, but sometimes her posts get kinda long, too.

So either way, welcome to EB. I’m a fan already. =)

This chick is off the hook. The post is long but full of the funny, and the funny is what matters to me.

  9. Andrea D says:

WHA? This post was hilarious. Haters can go elsewhere.

I figured that Julia had dyed a strand pink because of her kids, and I’m still pissed at her for stealing my two favorite names. That, and that goddamn Jennifer Gardener. WHY????

  13. Manda says:

Oh, well! I guess Miss Kelly is human after all!

  14. Kelly says:

Speaking of hair….how can I get my hair to do Julia’s curly wave thing at home, without a stylist. Can you do that with a curling iron? What size?
