It's so naive and child-like to think that there are no negative consequences in the eyes of the world to abandoning your child's mother, with whom you were in a committed relationship for years, before your child is born. With this kind of naivete, who needs cynicism? And I'm sad to say that this makes me wonder about Gisele's values too. Perhaps she doesn't realize that if he'll do this once, he's capable of doing it again. And then again, perhaps she's capable of abandoning him as well. And the poor kids - ugh. With a father who is "almost like a child", what hope do they have?
