Justin Timberlake Does John Mayer
March 3rd, 2009 by WendieLast night was the premiere of Jimmy Fallon Late Night. How was it? I was so asleep and missed it.
Justin Timberlake was a guest and did a great imitation of John Mayer. Beyond my general dislike for Jennifer Aniston’s time-killer, I cannot look at him when he sings. Cannot. You know he makes the exact same faces when he’s having sex. And I cannot abide by fucking a dude who rolls his eyes into the back of his head. I suspect I am not the only one who thinks this way.
Oh, and poor Robert DeNiro. He looks so-addled.
I couldn’t find a decent sound quality clip of the bit so you’ll have to fast forward to 5:00 to get to the John Mayer part. Around seven minutes, he does a great Michael McDonald too.

Oh my god! That is the funniest thing I have ever seen! I absolutely love this. I have NEVER liked justin timberlake… he is now my absolute favorite person… i think ever. I hate john mayer.
Totally agree. I’ve actually said some mean things about Timberlake’s looks on this site–never got his appeal– but I think I’m a convert. He’s very funny, charming, and yes, kind of hot!

A couple of years ago, I was embarrassed that my favorite song was “Sexy Back” but since then, whenever I see the guy he funny and seems like an all around good guy.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon was actually pretty awesome, and I’m excited to see if it can continue to produce a quality program. Having The Roots be the house band was a fantastic choice, because when the bit “Slow Jam the news” came on (reading the news to a slow jam) I just burst out laughing.
And I liked Justin and Jimmy singing as the Gibb brothers a lot. Justin was really funny the entire time, though. He’s on SNL so much now that he may as well just become a cast member.

Wendie, I have been saying this about john mayer for YEARS, and in my group of friends this is basically blasphemy. Watching him sing is nothing short of awkward and painful. He literally looks like he’s having a seizure or a stroke. If I saw someone in public making faces like he does I would be calling for medical help. *shudder*
As far as I’m concerned John Mayer has nothing on Jason Mraz.

Robert DeNiro is priceless. He looks like he wants out of there soooo bad. Love the little clap he gives at the end. Probably happy that it was over with.

I thought it was pretty funny. People are bashing Jimmy but I think he did pretty well for his first episode; it will take time to be a pro.

More and more, I appreciate the multi-faceted talent that is JT. He has a great sense of humor, and he clearly did his friend Jimmy Fallon solid by showing up on night 1 and being so entertaining. LOVE THE BEE GEES THING.
Also, Britney, WTF WERE YOU THINKING ABOUT???? Why didn’t you make pretty little babies with normal, well balanced, handsome, talented, successful, well-liked JT????

Love Jimmy Fallon. He’s a funny character. I begrudgingly like JT…he’s so humorous and talented but I guess the fact that he was in a boy band still bothers me.
great imitation? that was one of the worst. JT’s John Mayer imitation killed my good mood, he was so lame.
John Mayer’s music may not be very good, but he can play a mean guitar. If he’d quit making crappy pop albums and write a rock or blues song once in a while I think people would notice his talent. I saw him do some improvisational guitar work on Eric Clapton’s Crossroads DVD (If Clapton lets you play at his festival you know you have skill) and it was actually pretty damn sweet… till he started doing his “hits”, then the performance sucked. I don’t think that Justin Timberlake is on that level at all. Aside from the “Dick in a box” skit (which even I have to admit made me laugh) he’s nothing special. If Timbaland made me a few beats I bet even I could have a hit record. and his dance skills? Wow, he dances like Micheal Jackson… cause thats never been done before. John Mayer may not be “bringing sexy back” for you girls with his facial expressions, but at least he’s got passion, which is pretty rare these days.
