Oh, This Guy Is Coming Back?

Andy Richter will be Conan O’Brien’s sidekick once more. When Conan returns to television this summer as host of The Tonight Show, he will be going totally retro by having Richter as his announcer just as he did during the early years of The Late Show With Conan O’Brien.
Andy left the show in 2000 to pursue an acting career. I was preparing to make snarky, “How’d that work out for ya?” comments until I looked at his IMDb page. He has done tons of stuff over the past eight years. Nothing I’ve watched, but yeah, tons of stuff.
I haven’t talked too much about this before, but I can completely boycott a celeb based on nothing else but his name. Andy Richter would be a good example. I can never watch him because Richter sounds like a hybrid of rectum and sphincter and that grosses me out. Really mature, I know. Oh, Andy Roddick-he’s another one. And Andy Dick. Huh, maybe it’s just dudes named Andy. This feels like a breakthrough.

If I had to boycott any Andy, I guess I’d go for Andy Griffith. He’s gotta be over 200 years old so he’s clearly not human.
oh I love this guy! he was the little lemur on Madagascar. I love those movies. so cute!
You need to give him a chance. He’s funnier than Conan, and they’re both better together.
He’s hilarious!!!! I’d love to hang out and watch tv and make fun of it with him.
Andy Richter Controls the Universe was funny and I was sad that it got cancelled (although you knew it would because it was too different).
I loved that show, too. It was too bad not a lot of people watched it because it was funny as hell.

Andy Richter was not Conan’s Announcer back in the day. Just his sidekick. This new stint with Conan is a hybrid gig of sidekick and Announcer. It seems nice that Andy’s back on board. They were a good pairing while together for the first half of Conan’s Late Night days.

That is my real last name, thank you very much! I have to give you props for ingenuity, I guess. Of all the ways in which Richter has been butchered in my lifetime, I have never before heard it compared to a rectum or a sphincter. Now I will forever be wondering if that is what other people are thinking when I give them my name.
He was TOTALLY on an episode of Arrested Development. So…because he was on that show once, I love him. Because that show = RAWK. So sad it was cancelled…WHY would they do that to me?
