HUGE SHOCKER: They’re Doing a Sex and the City Sequel

I never would have guessed it!
Oh, wait, except I totally would have.
It’s official: they’re doing an SaTC sequel. They apparently finalized signatures yesterday.
There’s no script yet, but they’re expected to film this summer and release in summer 2010.
Is anyone excited about this?

I’m one of the few people who didn’t reaally love the movie. I liked it, but.. the whole point was that Big dumped Carrie, and he didn’t, he just wanted to hear Carrie say ‘it’s still just you and me’ and then it goes on and on about how she is heartbroken.. right. I loved the series, but the film.. mwah.
So, the sequel.. Not that exited, although.. new SATC quotes are always good =) Wasn’t the sequel rumoured to be called ‘Sex and the suburbs’ .. so not even about them?
How much further can they draw out this story? The whole point of SaTC as a series was the life of Carrie as the single girl and her gals.
The first movie was a bit much for me.

I loved the first movie. It was pretty funny, and a pretty good story.

I see all the “it’s so bad, it’s good” stuff, I can’t help myself – so I know I’ll totally be in line for this one! I was such a huge fan of the series – I dug the first film, even though it could have been a lot better.

Isn’t Kim Catrall a bit OLD to still be slutting around? She’s such a charicature at this point. I only found her somewhat appealing when she had cancer and that hot young bf. They should have had her character get married first.
disagree. I think she is the hottest bitch out of all of them. I love her. I’m glad that it’s not just MEN in their 50s that get to be all sexual. I don’t plan on being a boring old lady when I am 50.

I hope the sequel is better than the movie, it was a dissapointment. Please no topless scenes, we don’t want to see their boobs.
Maybe this one can be them passing the torch to a younger generation of skanks. That would open the franchise up to new paths and uh… let them retire.
