And He’s Out!

The Illinois State Legislature has kicked out corrupt Governor Rod Blagojevich. Hooray!

The Illinois Senate unanimously voted to remove Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office on Thursday after an FBI investigation revealed he tried to sell a U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder.

Blagojevich will be immediately replaced by Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn, a fellow Democrat. No other Illinois governor has been impeached, let alone convicted in a Senate trial.

Each senator was given five minutes to speak before the 59-0 final vote on Blagojevich’s fate. Republican Sen. Dale Righter of Mattoon called him “a devious, cynical, crass and corrupt politician.”

Yay! I’m glad justice was served, even though his Senate appointee still gets to serve. Booooo for that.

    hooray!
its shocking to see guys like him,
who have the authority and responsibility to make life
better for civilians with financial problems,
sell off something as significant as a senate’s seat
    for personal purposes.
    it sickens me.
it makes me lose my faith in humanity.

His Senate appointee is a pretty good guy, Beet.

Hardly. He didn’t do anything to deserve the position and was appointed by a criminal. Then, when no one wanted him to be seated, he pulled the race card. Anyone with a good set of morals wouldn’t have accepted under the circumstances (others did take themselves out of consideration), yet he fought for his “right” to be US Senator.

His political star fell a long time ago and this was the only way he could get into a position like this.

        DanTheMan,

Don’t forget he ran for Senator before and was defeated in Illinois. This was the only way he could get “U.S. Senator” to be inscribed on the big mausoleum he has built for himself when he dies!

There are some nervous Democrats in Washingon worried that this no-good-slime-ball ex-Dem Gov. is going to start singing about what he knows that really went on in Chicago. ANY Dem in Washington with ties to Chicago politics need to be worried! hahaha

please don’t let this be the end of it! I WANT MORE BLAGOJEVICH! The Larry King appearance was priceless. I only got to see 5mins of him on the view. This has been the best news story since Sarah Palin’s Couric interview.
