Will Megan Fox Be the New Lara Croft?

It’s official: they’re doing another Lara Croft film, and they’re doing it without Angelina.
Producers say they won’t be casting an actress for quite awhile, but the blogosphere seems convinced the role will go to mini-Angelina, Megan Fox.
Who else can you guys see in role?

We were watching the end of Transformers the other night (channel surfing) and I was waiting for the glazed eyed drooling to commence when my partner says “Overact much?” And he was so right, she was awful.

The first person who came to mind was Rhona Mitra for me too. She took over for Kate Beckinsale in the Underworld series (I know, a different character) so why not Tomb Raider as well?.
Any way, I’d watch anything with her in it. My shower, for example.

They probably would cast her for the steam factor but *gag* I can’t stand the girl.
Rosario Dawson would make a super hot Lara Croft. Remember her in Sin City?
I do not think there is anyone out there who can play the part like Angelina did.
She has an edge that can only be gained from sleeping with Billy Bob Thorton, and making out with your own brother.
But if i had a pick it would be Rhona Mitra, she already has the accent.

I wouldn’t mind Rhona Mitra… she’d need to gain some muscle mass though.
That’s the problem with all these girls… sure they’re thin, but Lara Croft needs to be able to carry a gun or two….which is hard when your arms are toothpicks!

Personally, I think the best Lara Croft would be Isla Fisher. Sure, she looks sweet in what she’s done so far, but give her that braid and some tight lycra and guns and OMFG I’M THERE. Sides, she needs to break out of her typecast role while she can.

I can’t say this enough-no to Megan Fox as Lara. Lord knows how many of us have had Megan Fox fantasies, but she’s as removed from the adventurous and aristocratic Tomb Raider as is humanly possible. I would dread hearing her do an English accent. Megan Fox is definitely too much of an early-twenties-Maxim-pinup to play Lara Croft. My vote goes to, as mentioned so many times, Rhona Mitra. She’s very beautiful, is naturally British and has of course portrayed Lara as an official model.
I know she had to build muscles for the movie but she has really manly,madonna-esque arms here. Shudder

That is absolutely terrible. I would not see that movie if my life depended on it. That movie will be NOTHING without Angelina’s badass attitude.
There are only a handful of young actresses that can open a movie. Megan would be really good, but she isn’t doing it.
Rhona Mitra is a nice suggestion. 1. She is too old, you want to skew a young demo (male and female – tween to 25) with Tomb Raider/Lara Croft.
2. Rhona Mitra can’t open a movie, you think Warners is dropp’in $80 million and is going to count on her? C’mon…start thinking Ann Hathaway!!!
