Jennifer Aniston Continues to Kick Box Office Ass

Take that, Benjamin Button!

Marley & Me topped the box office at $36.3 million this weekend, while Benjamin Button fell to the #3 slot (behind Bedtime Stories). It’s notable that Button is longer than Marley and showed in about 500 fewer theaters, but Marley still had a higher per-screen take ($10,450 to $8,987).

Looks like theater-goers would rather get their holiday cheer from a desperate and childless bachelorette and a suicidal alcoholic, just so long as they’re aging in the right direction.

Congrats to Jen and Owen!

No need to say mean things about Jennifer. She seems nice; wait till she proves otherwise to get nasty.

  2. lolly says:

tsk tsk beet. leave owen alone – you yourself defended him.

id say marley is the box office draw, not these two.

  3. Leah says:

I saw Marley and Me just because I wanted Jen’s movie to do better than Brad’s… : )

  4. jgirl says:

    that was kind of harsh…

  5. Amy says:

She’s not desperate. And it’s pretty cruel to redicule her for being childless. What’s wrong with not having children?

  6. Erin says:

For the record…there is very little cheer in this movie. I saw Benjamin on Friday and Marley on Saturday and there were far more snifflers in the audience for Marley.

If I wasn’t busy the entire movie entertaining my 5-year old (cause the movie was NOT AT ALL entertaining for that age group) I probably would have left feeling pretty depressed.

  7. eponymous says:

yeah really, make up your mind beet. youve been trumpeting for weeks about how great jennifer aniston is and how she shits golden twinkies. which is it?

  8. carol says:

    why is she desperate?

  9. Jennifer says:

Hey beet aren’t you single with no kids? Lol

You just love dog movies. Always have, always will. PS – “Hotel for Dogs” comes out in January. Get some!

    ew beet, bad attitude.

I also went and saw marley and me before brads movie bc im in way favor of jennifer doing better than him. :)

    happy holidays readers.

  12. Whoo Hall says:

I agree that this movie is selling tickets because it’s a dog movie. I’m not a dog-lover so I’ll wait till it comes out on video so I can fast-forward past the dog to see Jennifer Aniston.

  13. GreyEyes says:

Benjamin Button was AMAZING! Marley&Me looked really trashy. I hate those slap stick comedies.

    • Veronica says:

It’s not slap stick at all. this movie is about family relationships and how a dog is part of a family. In fact, I dislike Anniston and Wilson, but loved this book, so I went to see the movie Saturday night. While it was not as good as the book, it was pretty good. I would have liked it more if they spent more time on the dog, but it probably wouldn’t have worked as well. It was worth seeing and give it a “B”.

    Suck my little dick, Brad.

I’m totally Team Aniston but I have NO desire to see this movie. But I don’t wanna see Ben Button either!

  19. Heather says:

I could see how someone who didn’t read Marley and Me could be really confused throughout the movie. They left a loooooooot of stuff out, and my friend who didn’t read it was constantly asking me what was going on.
