A Gossip Girl Spin-Off???

Word on the street is that the CW is looking at a Gossip Girl spin-off for next season.
CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff said the network is in discussions with the show’s producers as to how a new show could be done. But she said nothing has been finalized and there’s no imminent announcement.
“Nothing really tangible yet, but we’re talking about it,” Ostroff told the Hollywood Reporter after her speech at the WWD Style + Media conference in Manhattan.
“If it’s the right idea, we’d all embrace it and be enthusiastic,” Ostroff added. “But nobody more than (executive producers) Josh (Schwartz) and Stephanie (Savage) want to make sure there’s the right idea that they can wrap their arms around and really be excited about.”

If they did do a GG spinoff, what do you think it should be about?

the spin-off of the gg series is the it-girl series which revolves around jenny when she moves off to a fancy schmancy boarding school to get a fresh start. i like them better than the gg books, actually. that’d be wonderful!

they spin off would be awful because taylor momsen is awful. really, that girl needs to stop thinking she is amazing and gorgeous. If they do a gg spin off based on the it-girl books, some new main characters would have to be introduced. they could also be doing gg: the carlyles which would be great!

Isn’t one horribly written and badly acted teeny show enough? Really.. they need to spin that crapfest off into another show? Good lord.
yeah i liked the it girl books better than gossip girl, but i heard that they are doing webisodes based on the darota, blairs nanny/maid person, but it was originally going to be about a young rufus and lily. i thought that the rufus/lily storyline would be more interesting than darota so it seemed weird to scrap it, but maybe not if they decided to go bigger than webisodes and make a spin off.

I would assume it would be the It Girl books, which feature Jenny. I’d be ok with that, because she’d be off my screen and I’d never have to see the character again. Of course, about creating a second show devoted soully to Blair & Chuck, I could really get into that!

i have a feeling that it would be either the it girl series or the carlyles. however gg could simply slide into gg: the carlyles, i wouldn’t call that a spinoff.
