Agree with Anon, last night, TSN was saying the Stars (players, not org) were likely happy to see him go. My husband told me he has years of dickish behaviour behind him.

It’s all about equal justice for all. He should not be able to skate on this just because he’s a big football star. He should be penalized along the same lines as the average schmo. It’s unbelievable that somebody making so much money can be so stupid. Hey Beet, I would LOVE to read your sports blog. Seriously, you’ve got good looks and hot bodies plus all the intrigue of Days of Our Lives.

Also, I have new fondness for Elisha Cuthbert and Rachel Hunter. I, too have a thing for Canadian hockey players. I think it’s the accent…and the bodies…and their ability to handle a tiny puck with a thin stick while flying across ice on a cm-thick blades. It’s HOT!

Sean Avery is a tool. That’s probably the reason he can’t stay on one team too long. It wasn’t just this incident. If another player said something like this, a slap on the wrist would be more appropriate but Avery has always been an incredible asshole on and off the ice. Despite what players are like in their off time in other sports, hockey is generally pretty tame and the guys are personable. You don’t see hockey players go out to the club or have gun charges, fighting dogs or beaten wives. It has as much to do with Avery’s toolness personally as it does with the higher standard the NHL sets for its reputation and players. Plus, even other Stars players are shrugging this off. They know he deserves it too.

Down Unda – you and I completely agree!! Suspended indefinitely for trash-talking giant head’s new little girlfriend is ridiculous even for Bettman. Besides, I’m fairly positive that’s not the most offensive thing he’s ever said. He normally does it on the ice. And I’m sure he would have said something to Phaneuf if he had the chance at the game that night. Such stupidity, all of it.
