They’re remaking Fame. No, seriously. Because that’s a classic that needs to be tampered with. Fuck, dude.
Megan Mullally, Kelsey Grammer, Charles S. Dutton, Bebe Neuwirth and Debbie Allen have been tenured.
The quintet has been chosen to fill out the administrative and teaching roles in MGM and Lakeshore Entertainment’s remake of “Fame.” Choreographer Kevin Tancharoen will direct the reinvention of the 1980 musical about a group of dancers, singers, actors and artists trying to survive four grueling years at the prestigious New York City High School of Performing Arts.
The roles of the students have not yet been cast.
What the hell are they gonna remake next? I’d like to see a Pulp Fiction with Lindsay Lohan in the Mia Wallace spot. What do you guys think?

Hold on, are you comparing Pulp Fiction to the tv show Fame? The people they are bringing in have done Broadway and are perfect choices for the roles. Your analogy would stand if they were bringing in those people from the Hills or new 90210 rejects.

I just hope it doesn’t suck. So far, the teachers are amazing, but it’s all about the students, so we’ll see. By the way Beet, I love that you posted a shot from the horrific Broadway remake. I wasted 2 hours of my life watching the movie plot be recycled into crap.

Ugh. I don’t know what to think anymore. After I heard they were remaking Footloose with Zac Efron I lost all hope in humanity…come to think of it they’ll probably cast Zac motherfucking Efrom, because apparently that tool is the answer to everything musicals.. ARRGGGGHHHH. Sorry, this really bugs me.
