Celebs Team Up Against Al Franken
October 28th, 2008 by Evil BeetHere’s a group of Hollywood celebs — albeit Z-listers — urging Minnesotans to vote against former SNL-er Al Franken, who’s running for Senate in that state (and who, based on recent polls, may actually win the damn thing).
Among them is another ex-SNL-er, Victoria Jackson, best known for going totally off the deep end with insane religious fervor in the past decade or so. Honestly, whomever you support in this election, the political musings on Victoria’s personal website are fucking insane. Some choice quotes:
“I hope that America realizes that Obama is a communist before it’s too late.”
“Thank you God above for giving us George W. Bush, and for giving us John McCain and Sarah Palin.”
“I don’t want a political label, but Obama bears traits that resemble the anti-Christ and I’m scared to death that un-educated people will ignorantly vote him into office.”
“I wouldn’t want to be Obama on Judgement Day, but I especially don’t want him to be the leader of my country.”
“Come On America! Wake Up! How stupid can you people be?! One of the leading Islamic Extremist organizations, Hamas, endorsed Obama! HELLO!”
Crazy, crazy, crazy bitch.
Before you leave a comment, please make sure you've read our Guide to Commenting. It could save you a great deal of embarrassment.

I just voted absentee in MN and SOOO did NOT vote for him
What really surprises me more is that Victoria Jackson actually thinks that she is relevent enough to warrent her own web site. And who the hell is Robert Davi?
she does realize that McCain was endorsed by Al Qaeda, right?

who is this victoria gal?!?!?! whoever she is, is absolutely fucking brilliant! i wish more people would wake the fuck up and realize what will happen if we potentially have obama as our future president. everyone seems to be walking around in a haze and saying yea go barack but then you ask them why and they cant tell you one damn reason why or they say well mccains old. i cant believe the future of our country depends on the votes of these ignorant people.
you cannot base your opinion of democrats on a very stupid uniformed people.
If I did that, I would hate all Republicans. But I don’t.
Just like when I argue next, I won’t use you as an example.
whoops… type… on a few stupid …….
nice.
whooopppps TYPO
sorry my cat is blocking my view of the keyboard. it is obviously time to go to bed.
Gee Paula, tell us about Obama. What’s gonna happen? Get us into a war? Oops, already got one make that two. Hmm, how about a recession? Oh yeah, already there. Make the polar bears vanish for good? That one is well on its way.
Personally I’d rather have a president that doesn’t stump himself on “Face the Nation”.
I like how everyone always thinks the opposing force is uneducated.
And Paula- I’m voting for Obama because I’m tired of this country riding the toilet swirlie. War, economy, fear- look around. Is this how you like to live? This isn’t just outside forces, it’s weak leadership, and no oversight.
just visited her page
“click here for a printable bio”
????????
I was trying to message Victoria but I didn’t see a place to do so… did anyone else?
My question to her is: Why is killing unborn babies bad but supporting the death penalty is ok?
Can someone please explain to me why they are all “pro-life,” except when they decide someone should die because of mistakes they made…. either support life, all life, or shut the fuck up about it.
I saw a sign the other day that said, “Against abortion? Don’t have one.”
it may be crazy but the Hamas crap is totally true and we shouldn’t ignore it
I think the DFL could have definitely picked a better candidate than Franken- BUT its still a huge step up from our incumbent Norm Coleman! Aside from being Bush’s little bitch, he was named the 4th most corrupt senator in the US!! I guess thats just not as much fun to talk about as Franken’s porn… :)
oh yeah, and Obama is a communist
now call me stupid and uneducated and show your true colors
Wow. I watched that and was embarassed for all those people. It’s entirely understandable why those folks had the time to film this PSA. The few that I did recognize haven’t done anything in front of the camera for years.
These things are a bit more powerful when you get…um, you know, REAL celebrities. “Those of us in Hollywood…” Um, sure, John ratzenberger. Glad you could take time out of your busy schedule of providing the next dippy voice of a Dreamworks cartoon character to speak out against Al on behalf of ALL Hollywood…
I really hope that Obama’s voters really don’t defend him by saying “McCain’s old.”
I’m voting Obama because I agree with more of his policies and, to a lesser degree, the fact that Sarah Palin scares the shit out of me.
I think McCain’s a good candidate for the Republican party. However, I’m a pro-choice, anti-religion in government democrat, so while I respect McCain, I’m not voting for him.
I don’t have a problem with McCain’s age, per se. It’s his health I worry about. The thought of a McCain presidency that turns into a Palin presidency is just about the scariest thing I can think of.
if that were to happen, she would be surrounded by so many men and would not be allowed to just make decisions on her own
come on now people
If Cliff from Cheers and the acne scarred guy from the Goonies says Al sucks, Al must suck.
What’s funny is that these people must honestly think they are real celebrities. I was hoping Spencer Pratt would show up next. Come to think of it, why weren’t Spencer and Heidi in this video???
And don’t worry, Victoria Jackson. Your rants don’t give you a political label, they just illustrate how you are a fucking lunatic. I wonder which traits of Obama’s resemble the anti-Christ…
Tuffy, if your best argument for Sarah Palin is “don’t worry. She wont be allowed to make her own decisions”, I think there’s a problem. That’s her best selling point?
just sent in my absentee ballot, and i DID vote for him. norm coleman is crazy.
the 666 on the back of his head
not my best argument, but just one of them to consider
oh yeah, and Obama is a COMMUNIST
truth may suck, but it’s truth
well, if the idiots in minnesota were willing to vote an aging goofyassed wrestler in as governor, why can’t the idiots in minnesota vote an aging goofyassed wanna be comedian in as senator? i thought everybody knew that minnesota was the state voted ‘most likely to vote like water on the brain morons’ in a recent national poll. there’s just something about places that get that fucking cold….
It so sad that some people have to cling to lies to justifiy voting for McCain and Palin. Just saying.
yea I know, I wished Obama would quit it
just saying
That’s what I was just saying!
Just saying…
Minnesota also voted in “fool for Christ” Michelle Bachmann, who wanted to do an expose on all the anti-American members of congress. I think she ran on the “I seriously, really, REALLY hate the gays” platform. I mean, this whackjob hid in the bushes of a gay pride rally trying to catch them on hidden camera?!?! There are plenty of jokes to be made about this, but I will leave that to TSS and Censorthis, as they are much better at it than I am.
That dumbass got elected somehow (although looks like her strangely named Dem challenger will unseat her because she mistakenly went on national television and opened her mouth). Al Franken was a really weird choice by the dems. There are some odd people up there.
My mom starts in on that same prophecy / literal anti-Christ stuff. I can’t get angry with people like Victoria Jackson (or my mother).
I just feel sadness for them that they live in such a tortured, paranoid state of mind. Very sad.
Minnesota must have the worst people to choose from if Jesse Ventura can get elected governor and Al Franken is actually being taken seriously for Senate.
Too bad Mickey Mouse isn’t real or he could run for Senate up there.
or maybe your just young and very unwise
so did you tell your mom you think she is tortured and in a paranoid state of mind?
Dinosaurs – to answer your question:
According to The Book of Revelation the anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40’s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal….the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything…
Knowing that like 99% of the posters on here are not Christian/religious, I’m sure this will go over well.
:)
I already voted early and am glad it’s the fuck over with. Get out there and vote, kids. If you don’t vote, you can’t bitch about the President.
@ Eyes of Green – Way to go! You managed to nail my biggest pet peeve as a Christian for Obama! Here is the logical fallacy: because some atheists call Christianity “dangerously anti-intellectual” and because some Democrats call Republicans “dangerously anti-intellectual,” it must follow that Democrats are Godless atheist elitists. There is, in fact, no causality there! And guess what! You aren’t more ‘on fire for Jesus’ than other Christians just because of where you live and whether you’ve chosen to vote for McCain!
My other pet peeve is Doomsday Christianity and its obsession with the end of days. Why is ‘doomsday thinking’ considered dangerous? Because it excuses its followers from having any emotional stake in things like the environment, and it gives its followers pseudo-dogmatic license to spread weird urban myths about politicians.
Your “anti-christ” claim, which you copied and pasted directly from an email your grandmother sent you, is admittedly popular among people who have no access to a) the internet, or b) the Bible. In fact, it has absolutely no Biblical basis whatsoever. I don’t know if you’ve ever actually sat down and read the last book in the Bible — it’s boring, I know — but it never enumerates the attributes of the anti-Christ. In fact, the word never appears in the Bible… except to describe a denier of Christ, of course.
Here is the truth: a ‘Christian’ is, literally, someone who follows Christ’s teachings. A Christian is not someone who makes a mockery of religion by substituting email forwards and right-wing supernatural conspiracy theories for real Biblical texts.
Hey, eyes. I’ve already read word-for-word that description you posted. It was sent out in a massive chain mail to scare people away from Obama, and it’s a complete lie like the other emails about being a Muslim and whatnot. Some clarifying:
The word “antichrist” never appears in the Book of Revelation. From PolitiFact.com:
“Now, some people interpret characters in the Book of Revelation to be the Antichrist even though the text doesn’t use this word. Specifically, in Chapter 13 there is a beast ‘having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy’ that some consider to be an allusion to the Antichrist.
‘It’s only in Chapter 13 and you could almost miss it,’ Tabor said.
But among biblical scholars and historians, there is strong consensus that none of the strange, evil-sounding characters in the Book of Revelation actually represents the Antichrist.
Now the word Antichrist does appear a few times in other books of the Bible, specifically in First John and Second John. The description in First John, Chapter 4, verse 3 says: ‘And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.‒
Being that Obama is a Christian, and believes Jesus is the flesh of God, he doesn’t even have the SPIRIT of the antichrist.
Nowhere is there a mention of a certain age.
There’s no mention of the word Muslim. Also from Politifact:
“Considering the Bible was completed by the early second century, and the religion of Islam wasn’t founded until the early 600s, it’s not surprising that the word Muslim (the name for followers of Islam) does not appear in the Book of Revelation.”
Now I am certainly no religious scholar. But I am able to easily look things up when they sound a little funky. And if Victoria Jackson, or anyone else for that matter, claims to be a true Christian, why don’t they know this is hogwash?
Where do you think this hatred of Barack is coming from where someone would make something like this up- comparing him to the antichrist? I’m sorry to sound insulting, but it’s driving me nuts. I’ve tried to be really nice, but if you believe shit like this (or that Barack is a Muslim, or that he is somehow working with terrorists)- shit that some Karl Rove wannabe loser makes up and sends out in a fucking chain email and is not supported by any facts whatsoever, you are being really, really stupid. Believing all of these ridiculous conspiracies is seriously borderline schizophrenic.
P.S. That last paragraph was just directed out into the open, not to eyes of green.
Dino – I was just researching that too. That description is a bunch of B/S. If you don’t like the guy, then fine, vote for someone else. But to spread malicious lies is just plain ignorant. AND to actually believe them is just, well it’s just un-f@cking-fathomable to me.
Yeah, that is where I got it from, some chain mail I got. I did not research it for the answer, I was just showing what is going around. I was going to clarify that point but had already hit ’submit’, as ususal, before I was finished – then got caught up in some of this ‘work’ nonsense.
And I’d also like to point out to my mother, if she’s listening – QUIT sending me every email on earth about Obama!!! I’m not voting for him, you don’t have to convince me!!!
Well, parents always have to try, don’t they? And moms especially love to nag!
I’m just confused that these people consider themselves devout Christians but clearly they have no idea about what, actually, the Book of Revelation says. That just seems strange to me. And were I Christian, I think It’d give me a little bit of a headache to see these buffoons very vocally misrepresenting my beliefs.
The radical Christians are like the wingnuts who make the parties look bad – on both sides, the uneducated bumpkins who always seem to get the airtime, and the rest of us are like ‘Whaaaa? You don’t represent ME!!!” Like how after a tornado the news always finds the woman in curlers in the trailer park with 2 teeth or the guy in the wifebeater t-shirt drinking Mad Dog at 10 in the morning. I’ve been disgusted at things like that idiot girl who said she was attacked by an Obama supporter and carved the backwards B in her face. That makes ALL republicans look bad, in my opinion. It just validates the ‘republicans are stupid’ comments that I see on here all the time. And the fact that she’s from Texas too!!! OMG, she’s a redneck dumbbutt (makes me sad to say I’m from TX)…
Eyes of Green LMAO!!! Doesn’t matter where we are, wingnuts, redneck dumbbutts and the like are everywhere. *sigh*.
Oh that dumb girl! She wasn’t a Republican, she was just a dumbass racist chick who wanted to vote against a black guy, and the black guy is a democrat, so she’s voting Republican.
And what an original idea! A black man falsely accused of attacking a white woman. Gosh, that’s never happened before.
Tuffyt – I don’t believe your convictions for a second. I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you made these comments to get us going. No one can be THAT stupid can they?
@ green eyes or whatever the fuck
wow, you just proved your own point!
I AGREE WITH HER 100%
@kate
Supporting the death penalty is perfectly fine.
If someone murdered your mom/day/child/spouse wouldn’t you want to see them die too?
Unborn babies did nothing to deserve death.
@Indigo Well put. I wrote a rather long rant along those lines this morning — it’s actually caught up in moderation, as it is filled with URLs. But you are right on. I am especially disturbed by ‘doomsday’ and ‘end-of-days’ thinking.
This morning I typed, “A ‘Christian’ is, literally, someone who follows Christ’s teachings. A Christian is not someone who makes a mockery of religion by substituting email forwards and right-wing supernatural conspiracy theories for real Biblical texts.”
Thank you Dinosaurs…The anti-Christ argument drives me nuts. In addition to everything Dinosaurs said, the anti-christ is, according to most denominations, to only become known after the rapture during the late part of Tribulation. So technically, according to those beliefs, the only people left would be the ones who were not already “saved.” The ones who were Christians would no longer be on earth, but rather in heaven. So unless all the stupid people spreading this rumor accidentally missed the rapture themselves, these statements just make it clear how uninformed they actually are about their own religion…THAT’s pretty scary to me! Don’t pass things along without looking into what you’re repeating people…
