Let It Go!

October 21st, 2008 by Evil Beet

William Shatner has decided to “speak out” about being snubbed at George Takei’s wedding.

I feel like these people are little kids.

Seriously, Bill, shut up and go back to doing Priceline ads.

Woah woah woah you cannot diss Captain Kirk…. Bill Shatner is the greatest guy in the whole world. He’s giving his fans clarification, what’s wrong with that? Takei has been a total ass from the beginning. Or maybe I just sound like an overobsessed Shatner fanatic..oh well.

by the way… you do know Bill’s been starring in an Emmy-winning show for the past four years, right? he doesn’t only do Priceline… sheesh.

  2. k says:

Hey. Don’t hate on kirk. George needs to try and talk to William and ry to work things out.

  3. Ann says:

Why hating on Shatner? he is a really nice guy. Ive heard about all the shit that Takei has said about him, from my perspective I think he is desperate for attention. Shatner has been known for his “epic” Kirk role and Takei feels threatened about not having the spotlight on him.

I think its pathetic that he cant get over his huge ego and just be friends. Its good that Shatner finally said something, maybe George will finally stop this nonsense…

I have met Shatner and Takei. Shatner is a jerk and not a nice man. I have seen how he treats his former castmates and was shocked at how rude he was towards them. Takei is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He is genuine and friendly and is very kind to his fans. Shatner is an “actor” and he is great at acting like he doesn’t know why his former castmates dislike him.

Regardless whether or not you like Capt. Kirk or Takei….if you hear Capt. Kirks point, I would have to agree with him. Seriously…at this point spending the energy you have on hateful or negative thoughts is just a waste. They ARE getting older and the probably not have another 40+ years left here. So why waste your energy on this. Takei..MOVE ON, LET IT GO. If you don’t like the man, IGNORE HIM. BE QUIET ALREADY!

  6. suz says:

….maybe he just needs a hug.

  7. slouchy says:

There was barely enough room in that shot for the interviewer and Shatner’s enormous ego.

  8. just me says:

    DENNY CRANE!! I LOVE him.

  9. soiasf says:

    @ slouchy

Right on! Shatner sounds like a mean girl…

  10. Coral says:

Would you invite someone to your wedding if they’ve always treated you like crap? Shatner can’t even take the time to learn how to say “Takei”the way George pronounces it.

What I’ve read is that all the original Star Trek actors have been close friends since the show began, but none of them can stand Shatner. Supposedly he did everything he could to offend and alienate everyone and now says he wonders why they don’t like him.

Sorry, Bill, what goes around comes around.

  11. adair says:

I have to say I have always liked them both, but after watching them hands down Shatner is the jerk. He is trying too hard to explain, keeps talking about a sickness, something festering. I doubt George even thinks of him that much – give me a break!

  12. adair says:

    watching this*

  13. Beet Czar says:

Damn, Bill, shut the hell up, you whiny bastard. He says he barely knew him, so how does he expect to get invited; Takei had other friends on the cast and he didn’t like Shatner, the others were invited because they were his friends, Shatner wasn’t, so not invited, freaking ass!

  14. Nadine says:

I understand what Bill is saying. I would be saying the same thing.

When my ex boyfriend and ex best friend were married (yes- they both cheated) I was more more upset that all my friends were invited and I wasn’t. I kept on thinking, THAT is the way they are going to start their marriage, by shutting ME out after cheating on ME!
I really didn’t want to go to the wedding, but it was the principle of it. They were fixated on the fact that they hated me, when all I did was receive their hatred. I wouldn’t have gone, but an invite goes a long way…

  15. Beet Czar says:

@Nadine… sending you a hug here, damn sorry! But their hate made them not invite you and that would have been too uncomfortable for you. Damn.

    …with his hair-implants and face-lifts!

  17. Sarah says:

Um why does the Shat even care if he wasn’t invited if “he didn’t know him that well” or was a “stranger”. GET OVER IT MOVE ON!

  18. Señor Loco says:

I don’t really see not wanting to invite an ego-maniacal primadonna to your wedding as a form of “psychosis.” I find William Shatner very entertaining and funny at times, but let’s face it, he is totally in love with himself. Well, over the weekend Comedy Central replayed the William Shatner Roast. Takei’s final line of his speech appears to not have been in jest afterall: “Bill Shatner, f*** you!”

  19. Nadine says:

    Thanks Beet Czar :)

  20. Donkey Punch says:

Remember Shatner murdered his wife by not calling 911 for a long time.
