    So, here’s the thing.

Thinking about Sarah Palin in office makes me want to digest car parts.

But I was pretty impressed last night. She actually did better at reading the cue cards than Alec Baldwin did in the opening.

As for the rap segment, I was actually saying “look at her little fists!” and smiling when she was dancing in the background. I thought it was “cute”, if you will.

She has a lot at stake. She was probably nervous as hell because she knows the entire country hates her. I think she actually did ok. And she did throw a “you betcha” in there, making fun of herself.

But she’s still a maverick, moose huntin’, flute playin’, Russia viewin’, updo wearin’ hoo ha.

  2. chic little says:

I dislike her as a politician with a passion, but yes, she was a pageant girl as well as a journalist so she’s good as smiling, being personable and reading cue cards. What was up with Alec Baldwin reading his cue cards? That was terrible!

  3. long dong silver says:

    The Walhberg stuff was funnier.
Say hi to your mother for me!

  4. evilzoe says:

sarah wasn’t funny or entertaining at all. she said all of 10 words. amy stole the show. do you think since she’s in NY she’ll do “face the nation” or any other political news? doubt it.

  5. YO YO says:

THAT SHIT WAS HILARIOUS I LOVE SARAH PALIN

  6. anonymouse says:

mark whalberg was way better. lol i thought palin was kind of lame. she didn’t do much, Fey and Poehler didn’t need her there at all.

  7. Donkey Punch says:

SNL hasn’t had such a stiff nice since Nancy Kerrigan was on. Remember how bad that was?

Now this is how it is done…Obama is farking hilarious:

  8. Donkey Punch says:

“stiff night” I meant to type. Sorry.

  9. jk says:

They had her rap? Wow, that’s kind of mean.

  10. Molly says:

I really wish she was the one doing the rap song, that would have been HYSTERICAL!

  11. Brynja says:

Haha, I honestly though Fey WAS Palin for the first bit

  12. Julia says:

I thought the Mark Wahlberg stuff was WAY funnier last night, as much as I adore Tina as Sarah P and Alec Baldwin.

  13. Gail says:

I thought Sarah was adorable! If you can’t poke fun at yourself, what’s the point.

  14. PegLegMeg says:

I really hope the all American people don’t think, “Wow, that Palin sure knows how to poke fun at herself, she sure is funny! I’m voting Palin/McCain!” Life isn’t scripted. When you turn the tv off at the end of the day, these people are still making life altering choices.
No, you know what I’m wrong. Palin sure is funny, it’ll be even funnier when she’s making all of your decision for you. Drilling in Alaska, No abortions, and I hope you have lots of money for health care. Freakin’ hilarious. Voting isn’t a joke and should be taken seriously. just ask people that lived through apartheid in South Africa.
    Democracy is not a joke.

  15. Donkey Punch says:

Correction: American democracy is a joke.

3 million voters vanish from the list of registered voters. The Conservatives were smart and attacked the Democrats before doing exactly what they have done in the previous elections – eliminate black and poor voters.

    Democracy in action, lol.

    PegLegMeg needs medication.

  17. cj says:

    I agree with PegLegMeg.

  18. torie says:

i was kind of surprised at how little sarah palin did, but i really shouldn’t have been – i mean, the whole this was being talked about i was wondering what they were possibly gonna have her do.

    and okay, for the record:

tina fey is SO MUCH HOTTER.

  19. Kelly says:

I keep forgeting that Josh Brolin hosted last night. Everything he did was forgettable comparted to Amy/Palin’s rap, Mark Wahlberg, and Kristin Wiig’s Engagement Suprise

  20. Karma says:

While I obviously don’t think that being in a cute comedy sketch would ever sway anybody on who they plan to vote for I give them credit, that was really fun and when that moose went down I cracked the hell up.

  21. Dooley says:

I liked her, yeah. She seemed pretty natural. I think it’s a shame though, that she got to read “It’s live from New York…”.
That, to me, seems sacred to SNL. And now Sarah Palin’s done it.
But she was in it for all of 10 minutes, so there’s not much to go on.

I am still terrified of her.

And in the farewell, when the camera panned out and everyone was clapping, did anyone else notice her boots?
I was thinking, “Girrrl, you are running for Vice President of the United States. You do not need to be wearing some hooker boots on national television. Really.”

  22. lau_ren says:

haha, yeah the moose going down was the funniest part and then at the end when amy went in between seth and palin and started shooting in the air. i enjoyed it.

  23. .anne. says:

    i love her!
    so awesome.

  24. tigerlille says:

The segments were funny, but Sarah herself? B*O*R*I*N*G…

  25. sandy says:

    Mmm, what? Did something happen?

Sarah Palin appeared — nothing more. The rap was pretty funny but she didn’t add a thing.

  26. cris says:

    She’s still totally worthless.

  27. cc says:

    Is that a llama?

  28. andyy says:

Dude, she’s probabley the dumbest person i have ever seen trying to run for office, and not to mention that if he they do get into office, she’s like a heartbeat away, literally, from being president.

but i loved the skit’s cause they totally ragged on her, like to her face, that made me laugh really hard, i dont think she knows they were making fun of her, she’s way to stupid.

  29. briana says:

I SOOOOOooooo wish Palin would have done the rap. but yeah, she was totally lame. she did like, nothing. and the Mark Wahlberg stuff was great =)

  30. Megan says:

    Are those the only insults?

    “She’s dumb” “she’s lame” “boring”.

She sure has hell hasn’t done anything to you.

Get that stick out of your ass for once. This is why I hate election years because everyone turns into an uptight prick.

I love Sarah Palin. End of story,

  31. jk says:

Megan wrote: “she sure has hell hasn’t done anything to you”

Yes, and we’d like to keep it that way.

  32. Gary says:

    Sarah was A W E S O M E!!!!!!!!

  33. carmey says:

its not that we’re upright pricks, we’re thinking americans, and we’re pissed that palin is allowed anywhere NEAR the whitehouse, and then they discredit everything obama has worked for. i.e. he goes to harvard and thats not enough; she goes to multiple colleges and the univeristy of mother f’in idaho, and she has “heart”. please, give me a break. it’s unfair is what it is.

p.s. in case you’ve forgotten, the republicans hold the title of “upright pricks”.

  34. DeeDee says:

It was funny! ANd NO not EVERYONE

  35. DeeDee says:

It was funny! And NO not EVERYONE hates her.

  36. Donkey Punch says:

Yes, DeeDee we know you are a raging conservative already. Now shouldn’t you be trying to get those stains out of your white hood? Darn charcoal from the burning crosses is so hard to wash out.

  37. bennt frank says:

Very funny. She’s got my vote!

  38. cookie moster says:

i think Tina Fey was brilliant as usual. No comments on Sarah Paylin, i dislike her with a passion

  39. just me says:

It amazes me that anyone would vote McCain/Palin knowing that in a heartbeat she could be our President! What are these people smoking? McCain is bad enough on his own. But with Palin they are truly terrifying!

  40. Blondie says:

Do I want to see Sarah Palin as VP and possibly even POTUS someday? (scary thought) No I definitely do not. Did she do a great job on SNL poking fun of herself and showing that she can be a good sport? Absolutely. I thought she was funny and cute and the rap was hilarious. Amy Poehler is probably the saving grace of SNL and she will be missed when she pops out her mini-me and doesn’t come back.

  41. quirkygirlkitten says:

amy poehler is the only thing that makes this show remotely funny these days. her rap was awesome!

  42. Indigo says:

Mehhh. She was plain vanilla. I give her credit for going on the show. But that’s it.

  43. Durga says:

I didn’t get to see SNL on Saturday night, but from the clips, S. Palin didn’t do much of anything. I checked out the YouTube clip too… and yeah, I watched the one of McCain as well. You’re so right Donkey Punch…. Obama was a hit!! I like everything about him for President.

    He Get’s My Vote!

  44. Googolygoo says:

She was hilarious, natural and funny, comfortable and easy-going. Obama is always stiff, stiff, stiff, not engaging or funny when called upon. Like it or not, she really scored for the Reps.

  45. wowmans says:

Who’s nailn paylin… Funniest thing i have seen in a while.
