God, there’s some dumb comments here. Read the judgment (pdf at the WSJ). In the judges opinion Weil receive nearly all of the benefits it paid for (Usage of images in print etc) and parts of Weils claims were ‘dumb’. RW initially claimed that the one hour mistake destroyed the entire advertising campaign costing them $20m. They dropped the claims to $3m plus interest. They are just pissed that Theron decided to not extend the agreement and has gone with Breil Milano instead. Breil just renewed their contract with her (actually DDF, Therons production company)

Try and get your facts correct. Charlize was NOT paid $20m for the 15 month deal. It was $3m. The preliminary judgment has thrown out all claims by Raymond Weil except one. She appeared at a press junket for about an hour wearing a Dior watch. A mistake she called regrettable. A photograph taken by the press was used by a swiss company in it’s catalog. Raymond Weil also violated terms of the agreement in the same catalog. One of the claims by weil was for a charity event Charlize participated in. A company donated $250000 but used a poster featuring Charlize wearing their jewelery at a booth at a swiss trade show. That claim was dismissed in thee judgement.

That use of “tit” must be specific to a very very small area indeed. I’ve lived in various parts of New England a long time now, and it is nothing I’ve ever heard of. Even if it means what you say it means (small?) it makes no fucking sense in the sentence you used it in.

So Charlize Theron is stupid and/or careless and/or arrogant — whatever. It’s not like she needs the money, and are we shedding any tears for Raymond Weil? Of course not. Because: Who cares?

oh please… its clear that after she got the contract with raymond weil, she was offered a bigger one with chanel… more money, more exposure, better name… so she just ditched the contract instead of cancelling it. yeah, waste of $20 mill, but shes prob getting $50 mill from chanel or something like that anyway…

It would appear that she’s arrogant and oblivious to what a signed contract means. I like Weil watches actually, I would totally only wear Weil free watches, and give me 20 million and I am so onboard I wouldn’t TOUCH another watch for the rest of this life or the next life.
