Maybe celebrities would find privacy easier to obtain if they did things in, well, PRIVATE. When I am fighting with someone on the phone and getting upset or even crying, I usually do that INSIDE, not outside where everyone can see me (not that anyone is looking, but, you know what I mean). I feel for them with cameras in their faces all the time, but many famous folk conduct an awful lot of personal business out in the open where everyone can see/hear/take pictures. There are ways to reduce access to your private moments, if they really wanted to.

I know the Travis Barker/DJ AM crash was light years ago in tab-time, but it seems likely that it remains fresh and upsetting in their circles.

I’m not privy to Lilo’s inner soul (thank you, India) but crying over undoubtedly unpleasant critical burn rehab reports on friends seems way more likely than crying because – gasp! – the world knows she’s a lesbian.

Of course, her self-stimulatory fuckpig of a father is always an option…
