wow, your first 10k was the mud run. i’m impressed. i did that last year and you are right it should not be your first 10k.

I just ran my first 1/2 marathon 2 weeks ago – Disneyland, the happiest race on earth. So, much fun, I never dreamed I could do it. So, now I have really sprained by hip and am still recovering. I’ll do it again, it is so important we have physical goals as we get older – it keeps us younger. Keep up your training. There are lots of fun runs in Seattle – Jingle Bell, St. Patty’s Day. It’s always great to have a group to cheer you on. Keep it up! Tell Kristen to introduce us if you want a ’slower’ running partner, I love to laugh and run!

Beet, your story is so sad! But I can tell you – it is not uncommon. I’m a very active person and over the years have accomplished a lot of physical things on my own – without the support of my husband. I’m used to it – but I can tell you – I want to get out the shotgun when he is entering a 5K and will brag and brag and brag about how he’s out there DOIN’ IT!
