One other thing, how can a man that has attended the same church for 20 years never hear or not agree with the views of the preacher? There are always other churches you can attend if you do not agree with what the preachers is saying but he stayed for twenty years. He listened to Wright preach of hate for 20 years, he called Wright his mentor, his sound board, and yet he somehow has completely different views? Here is just one paragraph of millions that you can find simply by googling OBamas preacher.
“An Obama spokesman told the New York Times he is proud of his pastor and his church.The church also is the largest recipient of Obama’s charitable donations. The pastor married Obama and his wife Michelle and baptized his two daughters. Obama has shown continued allegiance to a man who preaches racial exclusiveness, the superiority of black values over white middle-class values, and whose teaching contains anti-Israel diatribes. All these are sharply at variance with what Obama himself preaches on the campaign trail.”
I guess Wright only made those speeches on the select few dates that someone there recorded them?? Obama has since distanced himself.. again, took twenty years and alot of people raising hell before he would do it. Go ahead.. google it if you have the guts to admit that you have been fooled by a man that preaches of hope and peace in this country that he was not even raised in and his wife has just barely begun to be proud of.

The symbol of the United States is the American Flag. Does Obama know this? Its pretty basic people, how can you trust a man that doesnt even respect America enough to say the Pledge of Allegience and salute the symbol of the USA, the American Flag? He voted NO to a bill that would make desecration of the American Flag illegall! Whats bad is that he misses almost half of the bills that he is supposed to vote on but voted no on that one! LOOK AT HIS VOTING RECORD PEOPLE. MOST OF WHAT HE SAYS HE VOTED OPPOSITE AND THE REST OF THE TIME DIDNT VOTE AT ALL! You think he will stand up for Americans when we need him but cant even get him to stand up and vote for what you ask him to half of the time? Maybe if we were all drunk drugged celebrities living in a fantasy world we wouldnt need to look at voting records. Here in the real world you have to actually WATCH WHAT PEOPLE DO NOT WHAT THEY SAY!!

I am not against her as a mother or a woman either seeing as we have 5 children. Mine ae undr the age of 7 and they are boys that are smart and hansome. BUT all that aside, I feel faint she is running. I even like her, but in a pta kind of way.

I think the McCain-Palin ticket will seal it’s own fate here. I am so pleased that the media have been calling them out and pointig out inconsistancies in their words and proclamations.It’s concerning that so many people seemed disracted by her celebrity/womanhood,or whatever you’d call it. I am a woman but I don’t use it as an excuse to be treated any differently than anyone else. I expect to get equal pay as a man would for doing the same job, I also expect to be held accountable for my words and actions in the same light. If anyone out there could come up with another way of candy-coating her lack of experience and integrity I’d be well…not shocked at all. This is ridiculous, not to mention upsetting. Just yesterday John McCain said the fundamentals of our economy were strong…today diferent words. Was he somewhere else all together yesterday?? WOW. Thanks for the info on the rape kits Dinosaurs I am always happy to learn more, and mentioning the church and state thing again. We will always be a country made up of diversity that’s what makes us ,…U.S. so lets elect people thrilled to accept and nurture that not alter and “change” that.

Such hostility on the Beet comments. But I do find it kind of hard to take political ” advice ” from Lindsay Lohan. Samantha, well I don’t know. But someone who has their cooter posted all over Beet’s website doesn’t really deserve to be taken seriously in any means in my opinion.

While they are entitled to their opinion, so is everyone else, and that was mine.

Here’s another thing that scares the crap out of me as a woman- While Sarah Palin was the Mayor of Wasilla, women were forced to pay for their rape kits in hospitals. It wasn’t until democratic lawmakers in Alaska created a bill that this nasty practice was stopped. So, let’s sum it up for women:
John McCain doesn’t support equal pay for equal work, saying it would just be a burden on companies and the problem is that women need better education (because we are dumb whiners)
Sarah Palin doesn’t support abortion even in cases of rape and incest. So if a 12 year old girl were raped by her uncle, Sarah Palin would make her carryout the pregnancy.
Sarah Palin believes a woman should pay for her own rape kit after she’s been brutalized
John McCain voted against a bill that would require health insurance companies to cover birth control if they covered a certain men’s sexual health pill that I apparently cannot say the name of on this website (hint it starts with a “V”).

And I think they are setting the women’s movement back years by all this faux sexism stuff. Beet, you said it very well in another post. Expectations are lower for Sarah because she’s a woman. If you grill her on her experience, you’re a sexist. If you ask her to explain a lie, you’re a sexist. If you mock her on SNL, you’re a sexist (you hear that, Tina Fey?) Like we shouldn’t be held to the same standards as men? Yikes.

And Texas Gal, while I’m not a practicing Christian, I have some FANTASTIC Christian friends, some of whome are-gasp- gay! They believe in helping, loving, and accepting people just like Jesus did. Liberals aren’t afraid of Christians, we are afraid of extremists. And like our founding fathers, many of us don’t believe a democracy can work without the strong separation of church and state.
