Greetings from Vacation

September 13th, 2008 by Evil Beet

Recreational activities I had planned to enjoy while in Seaside, Oregon:

1) Horseback riding
2) Kayaking
3) Jogging
4) Hot-tubbing
5) Laying on the beach

Things I have actually done while in Seaside, Oregon:

1) Shopping

This place is adorable, and it’s like the boutique capital of the world. Plus: no sales tax. So I’m not actually being irresponsible by spending all this money on clothing I don’t need; I’m being frugal by indulging my shopping addiction in a place with no sales tax. Like the same way it’s okay to get so drunk you vomit all over your friends after they catch you in bed with their husbands, as long as you don’t drive yourself home! And I am coming up on my first winter in the northwest — it’s only reasonable that I buy a ton of gorgeous, overpriced sweaters. This is totally okay.

Feels good, doesn’t it? Overpriced and botique-y. But isn’t a bit cool up there in Seaside to just lay out? I know it is starting to get a bit cooler in so. cal (beach area) undisclosed, of course. Have fun!

Go to Morris’s (Mo’s) for eggs benedict in Canon Beach while you’re over there! Take pictures at Haystack Rock, too!

    OH MY GOD!

I was JUST in Seaside this summer! (It’s a big deal to me because up ’til then, I’d never left Pennsylvania…so seeing the Pacific was pretty damn cool).

Anyway, very cool, Beet! I stayed at the Oceanside, I believe. Very nice place to shop, and also to check out local seafood restaurants.

Ah, good. You see how taxes are bad. That’s a start. Enjoy your vacation.

Remember to purchase a warm raincoat. It never gets too cold up here – 40’s and 50’s sometimes a little colder, but it may rain during the colder times. Thank goodness well all love the polar fleece up here – and most of us have given up the idea of fashion statements in turn for comfort and warmth. You can still run off to LA to show off your fabulous figure – Keep it up!
