Despite rumors that Sarah Palin’s youngest child is actually her grandchild, Sarah Palin today admitted that her 17-year-old unwed daughter, Bristol, is five months preggers.
“Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family,” they added.
Um, anyone know this girl’s birthday?
Was she technically sixteen when she got knocked up?

And now you’re forcing her to marry this dude to save some face? How very progressive of you. I’m sure little Bristol is having no second thoughts about that. That kind of thinking is exactly why Hillary’s supporters wanted a woman in the White House. Jesus.

Once again, Ribbet said exactly what I wanted to say, only probably more eloquently. No one asks old men to leave office and go take care of their families when a scandal erupts. Palin has a husband and practically grown children and would have plenty of options to hire nannies and tutors if she went to the White House. She can deal with her work and her family all at the same time!
But let’s not ever give her that opportunity.

I’m from the UK myself, but I’ve been following this story and I feel very sorry for Bristol Palin. It’s sad for her that her mother doesn’t allow her to make choices because of her own beliefs. I really hope things can work out for the poor girl.
On a lighter note………here in England Bristol is a really AVERAGE city, and Bristols are slang for breasts! Lovely.
@Merc – did you honestly just equate an abortion to a scrape on your leg??? As someone who has been there, I have to say that having a baby scraped out of your uterus is just a TINY bit more painful, emotionally and physically. You people are freaking amazing, really.
I don’t think Palin should leave the office of governor to become a stay-at-home mom, but maybe entering the national political arena, having to deal with the scrutiny of a bound-to-get-ugly race, and possibly becoming vice president at this point in her children’s lives is not a great idea. I would say the same for a male candidate facing the same issues at home.
Palin has stated that she’s not sure what the VP’s job is and that she’s not sure it will be enough work for her. She was either being coy or ignorant. I personally think she was being coy. I also think her ambition is about to bite her in the ass.

what bothers me is the mc cain camp’s statement which said that because of the rumors about sarah’s youngest child the family felt it was the “right time” to announce that bristol was 5 months pregnant. soooo….if there were no rumors would they have kept it hidden until after the election and then announced it? it’s not like it wouldn’t have gotten out eventually, so why be so sneaky? seems hypocritical to me.
I’m just curious to see if this comment will get through- my last few have not been offensive or obscene in any way, other than they don’t necessarily agree with the majority of the other posters, yet have not been allowed.

Palin could EASILY become the President at any given moment with McCain’s health- someone that lies about their own pregnancies as well as their daughter’s has no place sticking their nose into every pregnant woman in America’s business. It is absolutely relevant-she is a hypocrite.
It is absolutely NOT irrelevant. It goes right to the center of Palin’s family’s character. These kids are uneducated, spoiled, drunk rednecks, and their family seems to be a-ok with that! Drop out of school? Fine! Fuck with no rubbers? Fine! Get married at 17? Fine! Do all this while running for the highest office in the land on a platform of family values? It’s ALL FINE, APPARENTLY!
@Unbelievable: a scraped leg obviously doesn’t hold as much weight as an abortion, I was simply using that example to show that logic needs to be the foundation of making a right and good decision, not hormones and wild fluctuating emotions.

Sarah Palin passed bills to push religion in Alaska’s public schools passing it off as “Science†by calling it “Intelligent Designâ€â€¨Refused to teach sex education in public schools. The consequences and dangers of having unprotected sex or any information about sex for that matter. Other then just don’t have sex. Say kids… Just say no to sex! Or as republicans like to call it. “Abstinence Only†A-O sure worked out great for her own daughter didn’t it? 
The fact Alaska has the highest rate of STD’s anywhere in the United States is even more then a little disturbing.
 Awww… I bet sweet little Bristol having all that unprotected sex (resulting in her pregnancy) also has a real gamey case of the clap.
Hey Beet, it seems to me that “Babygate 2008″ can easily be solved with photo evidence. I mean…even the Gov of Alaska would have been photographed at least weekly since she took office. If that is the case there should be pictures of her very obviously pregnant that she and the rest of the Evil Republican Empire can use as proof instead of outing a 17 year old.
