Half of my family is from Canadia, so don’t assume anything, dear DP. I am up to snuff on my geography. Those northern US states are effing cold, too, and I would not be caught dead in them. Maybe Washington, but only because I hear Seattle is a decent place to visit.

I know it’s difficult because it’s online, but just assume everything I say to you is with an amused, endearing tone. You provide some much needed controversy and intelligence on this site. And I enjoy baiting you. You so rarely bite.

donkey, do you have a room for rent in your house? because i’m sick of all this go u.s.a. crap too. (i normally would just avoid it but my daughter has been watching the olympics for like 12 hours a day)
but do you live in a french speaking area? because it is a shame that i took 5 years of french but have never used it outside of french class. if i’d have taken spanish i could totally use it to get a better job, mais tout les monde est sage apres les coup, non?

Michael Phelps rocks!! However, if he is asked the question “How do you feel about….” whatever – how do you think he feels Bob Costas??!! He feels friggin great. Obviously!! Let him just be quiet, close his mouth and admire that body, preferably in a low slung speedo. Thank you.

BTW – I have friends who are Canadian. The beer up there is wicked expensive!!! What’s up with that??! Plus, they have tons of people immigrate there from India.

Many American cities are parallel or even north of where I live in Canada. for instance all of Montana, North Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin, and Minnesota is further north.

AndreaF. Those show nothing of the sort. The first photo is before either swimmer touched the wall. The guy who lost was gliding, the guy who won was in mid stroke (body and arms moving faster and he’s actually about 4 or 5 inches closer to the wall than the loser).

The photos from the TV screen capture are of purposely low quality (who takes photos of TV screens instread of recording from the TV?) They tell nothing because you can not see where anyone is in relation to the wall.

Not to mention, the Serbians admitted defeat after reviewing the footage.

Also, there’s another flaw in the photos in that they don’t show the frames before or after.

The only clear photo at the moment of touching the wall is the one above that show Phelps fingers are past the wall, while the other guys aren’t there yet.
