“I get it, I really do. but at the same time it’s creepy. These people are fascinated by me, but I haven’t done anything,” she says. “If you’re a big Nirvana fan, a big Hole fan, then I understand why you would want to get to know me, but I’m not my parents … People need to wait until I’ve done something valid with my life.”

Frances Bean Cobain, in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, discussing public interest in her life.

I swear this shot of her totally reminded me of Miley Cyrus’s little Vanity Fair shot – just with like the color scheme and makeup/hair color.

  2. Hello says:

yeah, ditto to what emilia said.

  3. Horse Marine says:

Hmmmm, she used to be Kurt Cobain’s spitting image, but she’s starting to look more and more like her mom. This totally looks like Courtney from the early 90’s, circa Live Through This. Except the eyes.

  4. Dollface says:

this is why we want to know her, because she is on only living thing left of her incredible father, and maybe we al expect her to get into music and rock the earth like her dad, who knows, I guess we should give her ,her privacy, she is very beautiful and looks just like her daddy to me!

  5. Caz2 says:

HOPEFULLY not speaking too soon, but it is SO refreshing to hear the offspring of famous parents not using every opportunity to cash in on their name. i hope she stays this grounded.

  6. Raye says:

This is one of the only pics of her I’ve seen in years and she is no naturally beautiful….not to mention that dress!!!! GORGEOUS!

  7. ribbet says:

holy crap, how did such a seemingly well adjusted young woman come out of that union and environment. seriously, genetics and unstable upbringing were seriously stacked against her. recessive genes and great nannies, extended family influence?

i agree Caz2, it might be premature, but refreshing is the word. best of luck to her! unfortunately, after such a great statement, i bet she gets even more of the attention she would like to avoid.

  8. me says:

is it just me or does that picture look like some sort of CGI? it doesn’t really look like a picture at all. I loved Nirvana back in the day but I never understood how Kurt got with that trainwreck courtney. That’s like a 10+ year WTF???

  9. Adru says:

I think it’s fascinating that she can be so put together and mature when her mom was ODing and going batshit crazy in front of her when she was really young. I wonder what her valid life accomplishments will be.

  10. Katyta says:

best of luck 2 her,, her dad was awesome… maybe we’re just expecting a little 2 much frome her… but I guess you never know ^_^

  11. Windy City Windy says:

    what a cutie

  12. anabelle says:

Let’s hope that she is not as crazy as her mother :D

  13. ricardo says:

wow, an intelligent celeabrity child, good for her.

  14. kayla says:

    shes so adorable.
but this concept does remind me of miley cyrus’s V.F. pic

  15. Rory says:

I read this in Haper’s Bazaar like three months ago…did the website say it was new?

  16. quirkygirlkitten says:

frances seems like a really bright girl, and she looks cute here. hope she will continue to do well despite her insane mother.

  17. Robin says:

She is such a little disgusting twat. Why do the damn interview if she doesn´t think she is significant? Besides, “oh, they have prada next door, thank GOD” and other stupid comments. She really is a very sad little stupid girl. I hope she grows up to realize what is important in life, and to not say things that make her sound like a spoiled little brat.

  18. (not)gossipgurl says:

gotsta concur Robin. she did come off as mind numbingly annoying. guess she didn’t escape genetics after all.

  19. MamaMia says:

    Beautiful girl

  20. MamaMia says:

Hey Robin watch the language..she’s a kid and your not

  21. cj says:

If you read the whole interview, this quote is balanced out by the other stuff she says, e.g. buying Prada shoes–she’s a typical precocious, spoiled, but basically normal rich teenager. No more, no less. She’ll probably be OK when (if) she matures. At least she’s got the sense not to be caught out partying.

  22. Donkey Punch says:

    > Let’s hope that she is not as crazy as her mother

Lets hope that she is not as crazy as her father.

  23. joan says:

    amen donkey.

  24. charlotte says:

As a parent of a 15 year old daughter I am amazed that she has such a good head on her shoulders despite her parents drama, drug abuse and lack of responsibility. She was lucky to have such a wonderful grandmother who was there to help keep her grounded. I hope she continues on the right track. We should all be lucky to have a daughter like her, especially in this day in age. I think her honest outlook and cool personality on life is great. and she is on her way to becoming a knockout. I can’t believe how “Normal” she is. You adults should be ashamed for picking on a child! Shame on all the adults who judged her so badly. What goes around-comes around. She is gonna shine one day. Good for her! Does anyone else agree?

  25. slicklock says:

    woof

  26. PoliteTia says:

She is very down to earth. Yes, I’m already fascinated.

  27. Mai says:

hi! she very smart like her father…write me castillo49_7@hotmail.com

  28. Canaduck says:

She certainly has Kurt’s eyes, doesn’t she?
