I cannot for the life of me figure out why some people are so disturbed about a loving couple wanting to be married! They talk about “the sanctity of marriage”. Why is it o.k. for Pam Anderson to get married on a whim and then change her mind? What about Brit’s 24 hr. marriage and all the other couples who marry and divorce over and over? I am not gay but I am so very happy for all gay people that will now have the same rights that I do to marry who ever they want!! Congratulations! Way to go Cali!

Congratulations to Ellen and Portia. They’ve had a very strong, loving relationship from the start and this is just icing on the cake.

Why does the love between two people threaten you so much? Are you perhaps a bit confused over your own feelings? (I think you are… )
I pity you folks who can’t accept love for what it is… love. I’m so sorry that you’ll always associate love with guilt and shame. It must be horrible to be afraid of being human. Whoever it was that is responsible for your view of love being so twisted out of shape ought to have to pay for hurting you so badly.

Uh-huh. I really *do* feel sorry for you. It must suck to be so full of hate. I don’t really understand how you can hate so much and still think you’re a good Christian.

Either way, times are changing and people are beginning to realize that antiquated and dangerous views such as yours are silly and stupid … and they are changing the laws of the land to reflect this enlightened, intelligent and loving-of-your-fellow-man world-view.
Keep hating if you want, the choice is yours. You can choose to be hateful and mean and exclusionary… When I meet my maker I’ll be able to stand before him without shame, knowing in my heart I loved his creation in all it’s glory, trusted that judgment for the sins of this world rest with him alone, and that it was through his grace that I could see and love the world he made for me.

Ellen is a wack job (remember Ellen’s relationship with Anne Heche - who’s really out in left field. Also, don’t forget that incident with the dogs Ellen gave away after she specifically agreed IN WRITING not to when she adopted them).
Unless Portia is just as crazy, their relationship will end up blowing up in their faces.
Welcome, gay people, to the world of matrimony. Be careful what you wish for, you may get more than you expected! (and I’m usually happy in my marriage).

Jesus said “God made man for woman and woman for man; NOT man for man nor women for women. I don’t exactly know where this passage is in the bible; BUT it is there. I do not see how it can be read and not understood. I do not hate gay people, I have several gay friends and I love and pray for them.
Everyone in this life has choices to make, I’m not perfect, as I am sure no one on this earth is. But I try not to judge others for their actions because they are the one’s who one day will have to answer for them.
