LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beet, I had a sunburn like that once, too. Thank God, no one gave me a nickname. I was freaking miserable - St. Paul, MN, July, all freaking day long in the back yard with a spray bottle of water to “help the tan along” as my older and “wiser” cousin told me. I WILL get skin cancer from that episode, I am certain.

LOVE that story! Just remember, when all those tanned beauties are in thier 40’s, that tanned skin won’t be looking all that great - more like an old pitchers mit.
The sun is GREAT when you are young and your skin replenishes itself - but as we age our skin tissues don’t bounce back as well.

Ah summers at Mission Beach .. (I’m guessing) because I grew up in Scottsdale, too. I have dark skin that tans and my poor little sister is WHITE… I called her “pinky” growing up. Loved the story as I always wondered about the name of the site.

Thanks for sharing. I had a similar story, only difference is that the people who intially named me were not my friends until I shaved my head and got a cool car. I was once know as “Big Red” and Red Radish” dur to wavy thick locks. It sucked ass. Hence the reason I shaved my head. Then the taunts became, “Bull Hurley”-that guy from “Over the Top” Now they just call me evil.

As a sister in no-tan-just-burn and olive-hating, I salute you. Great story, and I’m happy to finally learn the origin of the site name. But even before the unveiling of that story, I always cracked up whenever you used a little beet to cover the naughty bits on nip slip/crotch slip/anything naughty slip celebrity photos!
